As other reviewers have stated, this restaurant has an interesting decor theme, but I can't deny that the food was great. We showed up 15 minutes early for our reservation and they allowed us to be seated. I'd like to point out that the service was impeccable. The first employee we interacted with gave us a full run down of the dinner menu and explained how they make all the syrups for their cocktails in house. Our waitress also came over shortly thereafter to ask if we had been helped and if we had any questions. They were both so attentive the entire night and we couldn't have been more grateful. My friend and I both got the Endless Summer cocktail. It was okay. I was expecting it to be sweeter but it was still refreshing. I got used to the taste. My friend didn't enjoy it as much and our waitress offered to add simple syrup to it to sweeten it a tad. For dinner, I ordered the Cacio e Pepe. I've never tried this dish until that day so I'm not sure what the consistency is supposed to be like but it was kind of dry. It was an excellent blend of cheeses and pepper. The portion was big enough to feed five small children! I ended up having to take rest home with me. No dessert for us this visit but we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. The food at Rhythm & Spirits has always been fantastic. The service is also always top notch and on this night it was great as usual. We were going to a show so we got pizza, which comes from the pizza place next door, instead of a sit down dinner thinking it would be fast and filling. The order did come out rather quickly. But I have to say what I saw in front of me was not what I expected given the word of mouth reviews. Ordered the Margherita pizza. The crust was wafer thin and had very little taste. We started off with "The World's Greatest Aperol Spritz," which was just as pretty as it was delicious. I've had a good number of Aperol Spritz's in my day, and I don't think I'd say it was the world's best, but it was totally up there! No hate, just the truth! My friend got the Cacio e Pepe that featured enough pasta to feed a family of four and still being home leftovers, and I got the Scallops & Gnocci with fresh day boat scallops, seared over gnocchi with brown butter and hazelnuts. We made a reservation although it didn't seem busy when we arrived. The service was very good, I will give them that. I am only giving them a 1/5 due to the food. It was really bad. The waiter told us that it was being removed from the menu due to lack of interest, but I think it's because of lack of flavor. I got the truffle alfredo Udon. Someone got locked in the bathroom on an acid trip and decorated it. dj also questionable- needs some flow. Too loud to bring kids-don't do it. This is a fun quirky place to go with adult friends. Do not hang at the bar or people cannot get through, especially the staff, who are quite adept at shrinking into nothingness to get around. Give them a break people! The outside is fun and also funky. The food is very up and down. Griswold Christmas chewing on the chicken parm the risotto cake and the prime rib. I think there is someone back there with a blowtorch. Broccoli rabe good. Musical archeology is the experience. Too many songs layered on top of each other. I had such high hopes for this place but they just really disappointed us... really, really bad. First, they sat us in this really awkward corner in front of a the DJ Booth, next to a bunch of drunk people who were heading to a Darius Rucker concert. The waitress (?) gave us our menus promptly, and then left without saying much. She didn't come back for FIFTEEN MINUTES! That was fine, we chalked it up to being a busy Saturday night, but kinda irked. We gave her our drink orders and she told us the other waiter would be around to discuss the food. Wtf? Our drinks didn't arrive for another twenty minutes. Insane. Meanwhile, the DJ is blasting 90s club bangers behind me and we are shouting at each other from across the table. Thennn, our other waiter came over panting (serious) and collapsed next to me, saying he was taking a quick break and going to discuss our specials. So strange. It was almost like these people were trying to be hipster and "down", but it just wasn't working - however this waiter was the only one who really understood what was going on. He knew the menu and his food, for sure. He was the only one that looked somewhat professional, besides his backwards ball cap. The first waitress wore a see through wifebeater with black yoga pants, while the busser wore basketball shorts and a "vintage" graphic tee. Sooooo weird. We both ordered the Oh Donna! Some yummy sounding drink that has egg white in it. Our inebriated neighbor patrons swore by it. I swear, I'm not picky... but it legit tasted like sewer water and cleaning alcohol. I just couldn't do it. And I couldn't send it back because we never saw another person from here until the food came out. The saving grace of this place was the food. The octopus was great, although it only had one leg of a baby octopus (save your money) and about 2 potatoes chopped up to look like octopus. Salad special with asparagus was to die for. The cacio e pepe was amazing with the shaved truffle, although the guy who shaved the truffle for us was rude AF. When the waitress finally arrived back, I ordered another drink but 25 minutes (yeah, I counted) passed before we flagged her down and told her to cancel the drink and we were ready for the check. It's small inside, but the decor is eccentric in a good way and the place has a nice atmosphere. The bar area is very small but there's a wide drink selection. The food is good - the salads are big, tasty, my wife said next time she'd just get the Caesar with some chicken and it'd be a good meal. I had a sandwich and it was very good. My wife has the chicken parm and the chicken was good, the pasta was whatever. Her food came out cold, which they blamed on the kitchen being outside (? - that sounds like bad planning). The service was slow but friendly. There is a 4% fee for all credit card transactions which ends up only being a few dollars but it's nervy just the same. The location is not good. Took my husband here for his birthday as I read many reviews about this place. The decor is dark and eccentric. The manager greeted us and offered my husband a birthday drink which he gladly accepted. We sat inside, but there is outdoor seating. We had several questions about the menu and accommodations which our server patiently assisted us with. The drink I requested from the menu was no longer available so our server worked with our bartender to create a drink just for me. We started our meal with the bacon appetizer which comes with two Thick slices of bacon. It was salty, sweet, smoky, and absolutely DELICIOUS! My husband got a modified version of there chicken parm. He was more interested in the southern fried chicken than the parm. They graciously prepared his entree to his liking. He said that it was a bit salty, but overall, very tasty. I ordered the pork chop which comes with loaded mashed potatoes and broccoli rabe. The balsamic reduction, the mashed potatoes, the pork chops... O M G. Absolutely delicious! We finished dinner with another round of cocktails and a complimentary shot. We were too full for dessert at Rhythm and Spirits or their sister store, Chocolate 32! We will definitely be back. We stopped here for their happy hour special last Saturday and we were so happy that we did. The food was delicious and the prices were great. We got the meatball sliders, chicken cutlet sandwich and wings. Everything tasted homemade. I was pleasantly surprised. My husband had a beer and I got an old fashion. It was one of the best drinks I have ever had. The servers were on their toes. And the bar had a fun atmosphere. It was small but fun. We can't wait to go back. This place has really came a long way since the first time we came in when they first moved from the original place (Iron Room). Still miss the old speakeasy feel and vibe. I never complain much as I'm a server myself and know how things can be but this was the most disappointing, confusing dining experience for me. I'm back home visiting and a friend and I decided to finally check this place out after hearing so many good things about food and service. We made a reservation and came in and it wasn't even too busy, one 14 top and a few people at the bar. They had an "event" which was a Washed up Tony Bennett wanna be act. They sat us right in the middle where servers couldn't even get through when many other tables were available which made it awkward from the start. We were told before seating about specials and the server would tell us more. I thought it was pretty ridiculous how limited we were to other options besides heavy meat dishes, and then told it will be an extra $15 for anything we wanted on the menu because of the "event". Weren't even busy and your event was a joke why not accommodate the small amount of customers that you had? This place is just too pretentious and proof AC is getting gentrified big time. We got an app and once the bill was handed to us we were told in a condescending way from the server that "don't worry I didn't charge the extra $15 on your bill." Just made us feel uncomfortable and didn't feel quite welcome from the start. We're not cheap when we go out, don't have a problem spending money on what I want, but that's insane to charge so much extra like that when the restaurant isn't even packed. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. 8 of us went in for dinner on a Wednesday night. There were a few other tables, but they were far from packed. Our server took at least 10 minutes to greet us and get our drink orders. 3 of us split a pitcher of pineapple margarita which was a terrible idea. Our server poured my Husband's and spilled probably 1/2 of a drinks worth on the table and made no attempt to help clean it, we had to use our napkins. Those napkins and the 1/2 drink were never replaced. The napkins sat in a ball on our table for the entire meal. Appetizers: We ordered a chefs board and octopus. The $50 board was the biggest waste of money. A few pieces of Italian bread, a scoop of ricotta, FROZEN mozzarella, terrible pizza. The octopus was fishy and inedible. At this point we have all asked for napkins and water, neither of which ever hit the table. Now let's get to dinner: 4 pizzas, vegan gnocchi, pork chop, some basic pasta dish, and a hanger steak. The dishes come out about 20 minutes before the pizzas. By the time they come out 1/2 of the people at the table are completely done with their dinner, sitting back and falling asleep. Except for the vegan gnocchi which had so much red pepper flake you need a glass of water between each bite. But we had no water... We ordered 2 chicken pizzas which were very good. My friend that ordered a mushroom pizza took 1 bite and said it was terrible. It was a few pieces of mushrooms, a tiny bit of pesto, and a sh@t ton of truffle oil. The last pizza was a veggie one. It had ZERO flavor. We used some of the sauce from the gnocchi to spice it up a little. At this point 3 of us were sharing a nasty napkin that had been used to clean up the margarita. Throughout the meal we asked numerous times for water and napkins. When we got the bill we realized that there was a 20% gratuity added on. We are by no means cheap and most likely would've left that anyway, but you have to think... if our server wasn't guaranteed 20%, would our service have been better? read more

A fantastic new find in AC! I had been to Iron Room a few times in their old location and saw a few articles on this new space and during my weekend trip to AC last weekend decided to stop in with my friends! Delicious cocktails and amazing glassware! We instantly became friends with Tara and Christian behind the bar. Tara makes an amazing slushie that I am obsessed with and a great rum old fashioned! We returned to the bar the next night and got such a warm greeting. That night we met Lisa as well the bar who had some great stories! Overall I loved the space and thought the drinks were excellent. Atlantic City needs more places like this and I hope they do well. I'll certainly be back next trip! read more

The grand opening of Rhythm and Spirits was a launch party for Stephen Jenkin's tequila. I feel there's more cool to come. So, it's not too hard to get a cocktail in Atlantic City. Getting a cocktail in a chill space is a different story. This cocktail bar and music venue has the right vibes, especially once all the beach bars close for the summer. Our drinks were no joke. The Grog (Pyrat Rum, fresh local blueberries, sage and lemon) and Tropical G&T (Bulldog Gin, house made pineapple lime simple, fresh strawberry and pineapple, Fever Tree Indian tonic) were strong but tasty. They were sippers for sure. It would hurt to have too many too quickly. The prices were right for good cocktails- about $12-$14 per. For the quality it's priceless. I was there on an early Saturday evening and there wasn't any live music. The music was a little odd- like wedding hits from the 70s/80s. It was also freezing, but it's not a huge space so I'm sure that's clutch when the crowds come in. I can't wait to check out some live music. It's along the same row as Tennessee Ave Beer Hall and the Iron Room. This is going to be a nice little monopoly right off the boardwalk. (See what I did there). read more

We went as a group of 5, on labor day weekend, which probably explains why this place was kind of dead-ish. The ambiance was definitely nice and the decor was very eclectic. They had live music (a guy playing country on a Friday night‍). There was another large group (6-8 people) next to us and about 2-3 people at the bar. The drinks were VERY sweet and a couple of them tasted like cough syrup. I had a mule which was also very sweet - I wasn't a fan. They do not serve food/small plates. Towards the end of the guy's performance, the power kept going in and out with a loud bass sound - it seemed like the power was getting shorted and they had to reset it quite a few times. We had 1 drink each and left. I have been wanting to go to this place because I have heard good things, but my experience was definitely a let down. read more

I completely understand that restaurants are understaffed right now, but this was really strange. We were sat at our table, it look quite a while for someone to take our drink order and after it was taken we waited quite a while again for someone else to take our food order but in the meantime 4 different people asked us if we had been helped. Which we weren't sure if we had been. Anyway, they seemed to have multiple food runners/hosts but only 2 waitresses who were obviously over worked. This I can totally forgive. The food was not good. The octopus - which was almost non existent and hiding under tons of potatoes- was drowning in sauce. The macaroni and cheese pizza was nothing like I was expecting. The pieces of chicken looked like they had been frozen and didn't appear to be fried. The sauce was bland and it was totally over-powered by hot sauce. I thought it was going to be a decadent treat and it tasted like Buffalo sauce on bread. The worst was the Branzino special. It was AWFUL. The cardboard fish looked as if it had been frozen. The "Asian noodles" were flavorless and the broth it was in tasted like dirty dish water. We told the waitress how bad it was and she brought us two free drinks. I'm not sure if something was going on last night 7/30 but it really was a negative experience. Perhaps the regular chef wasn't there? The pan seared scallops were delightful! Cooked perfectly, flavored with the squash and pesto risotto was a mouth full of flavor. The Wegyu strip was marbled perfectly and the blue cheese, honey, peppercorn butter was a nice addition. The presentation was a little lacking, but with the cut of beef, understandable. Perhaps a reduced balsamic around the plate would liven it up. The service was great; everyone worked as a team with many people stopping by to check on us. The staff all wore masks and abided by COVID-19 policies as well as they were friendly and courteous during our entire experience. The food was brought out promptly and we could tell it was fresh based on the steam coming off of it. The pie was a personal sized pizza which was made fresh and was delicious with not too much Buffalo sauce drizzled on the bacon/chicken. The shrimp sandwich was hefty and the bread was delicious along with it being freshly made with their jumbo shrimp. I have been wanting to try Rhythm & Spirit's since before they even opened. I finally got the chance, in a Covid world I don't think it was a true reflection of what they do but I was delighted with the offering and execution. Upon entering the bartender had a pot on an bar top induction burner with a reduction working. The sweet smell of fruit, sugar, and herbs filled the entire place. It was intriguing and welcoming. The space itself is really cool, even though I only got to walk through to get to their secret garden. The outdoor space is shaded, and thoughtfully spaced out. A shipping container kitchen completes the vibe. The service was friendly and efficient. We opted for Frosé and a signature pineapple margarita. We were there just before dinner so the brunch menu was what was offered. We shared an arugula salad with prosciutto and mushroom. Perfectly dressed and all the flavors were there... I would have liked more prosciutto- but that's not their fault. ;) The second course was the charcuterie pie. It consisted of light and dry pizza crust, crispy and thin, topped with cured meats. You could taste the quality of the ingredients. It was the nicest pizza I can remember having in a long time. I would definitely return just for that. My friends and I dined at Rhythm&Spirits this past weekend for a birthday dinner before a night out. The service was friendly and professional. We ordered a wine from their wine menu that happened to be out of stock, but the manager gave us a recommendation based on the wine style and it was spectacular! I ordered their Salad#2, Southern Fried Chicken Parm, and Cheesecake with Bar32 Chocolate. I was surprised with the size of the portions. Both the salad and the Chx Parm came in a very generous sized serving. The Chicken Parm was so good I am still reminiscing of the flavors: crispy, juicey chicken with a light fresh tomato sauce. My husband and I visit this restaurant every year for our anniversary. We started 4 years ago and have always been so pleased with service and food. This year the service was just as great but the food was unfortunately pretty disappointing. There was a huge change in the taste and portion size.
