Horrible service. We were seated outdoors in the back. Our server arrived and brought us water and the menus but disappeared for about 15 minutes before taking our order. We received some bread in about 10 minutes but only got one of our appetizers (tomato and burrata salad) after waiting at least 30 more minutes. In the meantime the waitress was nowhere to be found during this time. Another staff person came by and apologized for the wait and promised to "push the food out shortly" and in another 10 minutes they brought a pizza out, followed by Arancini, which were refrigerator cold on the inside. The pizza was good, not great. It took another 10 minutes or so to get a few of the mains and then another 10 minutes for the final two pastas to come out. I'd say most of the food was a solid 3-4 stars out of 5, but the wait and the frozen rice balls pretty much set the tone for the evening. We arrived around 7 and didn't leave until 9:30. The chef/owner came out to apologize and gave us a bunch of chocolate, which was nice but after the mess before this, nothing was really going to fix things. I looked at reviews on another board and noticed mostly good reviews but enough reviews/experiences like ours that I can't say this was a one-off but more indicative of chronic kitchen and server issues during busier times which have not been sufficiently addressed. Made a reservation here for Labor Day Weekend Dinner. We had to change our reservation last minute and Alphonso the Manager was expressly accommodating and kind about it! The atmosphere is awesome; not your average Italian restaurant. But the food is sensational! We got the Spring Salad (crisp, light and delicious), the Chicken Parm which was a recommendation and didn't disappoint, and the Chef's Board (best whipped ricotta I've ever had). Party of 7 went to this restaurant. The bill was approx. $400.00. The only dish that was finished was the side of bread and the Caesar Salad. We had to pay $5 for the side of bread. Nothing else was good -- The Fried Calamari was very chewy and very sweet - not good. The Seafood Paella was burnt on the bottom and was not good. The Margherita Pizza and the Pepperoni Pizza tasted like they were made from tomatoes sauce from Shoprite. Meatballs and Spaghetti was not good, one bite and it was not eaten. The Alhambra beers and the soda were good. The Sangria Pitcher was Very disappointing!! Not returning for another visit and went elsewhere for dessert. read more

I don't know how to feel about the place. The reason I'm giving a 4 is solely because of their pizza. Like I said, their pizzas are really good. I tried the seafood pizza and it just blew my mind. They made the whole thing in house, thin crust with fresh seafood, including shrimp and crab with simple marinara sauce. The pizza was smoky, deliciously simple, and satisfying to eat. The price is ideal for a whole 10-inch fresh made pizza too, I paid $14 for the seafood pizza and would be willing to pay more for that, because again, that pizza was so good. Now, other dishes. One word: disappointment. I was on a roller coaster of mixed feelings about the place. I would give their salmon crudo and grilled octopus a 3 and 4 out of 10 respectively. Salmon crudo was really strange and salty, and the grilled octopus had also some strange taste too. Those two dishes were really pricey, even pricier than the pizza, so we had slight disappointments given that they were the appetizers for the night. Then we had the entrée with spring spaghetti. I can tell they make everything fresh, but the dish itself is not appetizing. Overall, the pizza saved the night. We were so glad we had the pizza because if not, we would leave the place feeling still hungry, confused and upset with other three dishes. read more

Our only negative was that we sat right next to another house that had multiple people on their deck smoking that left a really strong smell at our table. We would have loved some privacy between the restaurant's deck and the deck next door. Despite there only being five people in the restaurant apart from me and my friend, our food came out 10 minutes apart from each other. She ordered the Spicy Rigatoni (which was $30 for just pasta and mediocre sauce with nothing but a sprinkle of Parmesan on top) and I got the Philly steak sub which lacked flavor and had low quality meat for the price. We got there and the man refused to seat us because they were "all booked". I booked a reservation for 8:15pm, went back in and showed him to which he then seated us. I got the fried chicken Parm. The chicken was thigh meat which I learned from this meal is not a great cut of meat. My sister got their house vegan special which she absolutely loved. They have a really nice outdoor space and the dj was playing great music. Our waitress was also nice. Very disappointed. After telling us the specials 4 of us ordered the Bronzino waiter came back to tell us it was no longer available. We ordered the octopus app and again we were told they didn't have any We ended up ordering the salmon but we didn't want the risotto. We asked if we could get a veggie or salad instead we were told no substitutions. After asking to speak to the manager we finally were able to get our salad. We had ordered a pizza to start the bus boy cleared it without asking if we're finished. We were not!! 2 of the meals were cold sent them back when they brought them back still cold. My friend and I ate at this establishment in Atlantic City NJ, on February 19, 2023 to have lunch. This was our very first time visiting this restaurant. When we initially arrived there we enjoyed the ambience and the music. We were very excited to try this new local spot. We both decided to order burgers (well done) with French fries. We patiently waited an hour for our burgers. We understood that a large party was being served at the same time. When our food arrived to our surprise we received burgers (burnt beyond well done) and tater tots instead of fries. When we inquired about the tater tots our waitress mentioned those were the fries. When asked if we were enjoying our meal I made mention that our burgers were completely burnt and that we expected fries instead of tater tots. The manager on duty, Billy, mentioned that they ran out of fries and that it wasn't like he gave me "spinach". He explained, " fries and tater tots are the same and that he would of been happy if that is what he received". He was very rude and argumentative. He was also very dismissive about our concerns and was nonchalant when we told him we would not be coming back. I do not appreciate the service or the managers attitude. We found Rhythm and Spirits on yelp and rode there. great place, good food and drinks. only gave it a 4 star because when the rain started we got wet, their tarp is fish net and not solid so the rain comes through. if it was a tent we could have finished our food and not gotten wet. Its the Service Stupid! We decided to try this new area of Atlantic City which is being sold as an innovator to bring something interesting to this dump of a City. We decided to drop into this place and we sat down. There were 4 other people in the whole place. It's a very dark 1978 type of a rock-n-roll vibe. There is a reason why these sorts of places no longer exist. After we sat down the Bartender if you want to call her that, tells us if we want food scan the menu at the front. Ok... After we sat down we noticed the table was very wobbly. We decided as there was no floor server to seat ourselves at the Bar. The Bartender has yet to acknowledge us and we're seating right in front of her. (I guess they had all the business they want, all of 4 people) The Bartender was NOT the type of employee you would want to be the face of your business. Salty, rude, rolling her eyes and we're confident she would have a challenging time spelling the word SERVICE. We left without spending a dime in this soon to be an extinct business. Sorry, we were excited to try this area out and was disappointed by this experience. Personally, unless someone with deep pockets comes into this city and redevelops an entire 4 block area in one shot, for restaurants and night clubs, nothing will change. The food gets 5 stars for sure!! The atmosphere however is horrible. The music is far too loud to have a relaxing dinner and have a conversation. They need to decide if they want to have a nightclub or an upscale restaurant. To pay the price for food and then be tortured with loud obnoxious DJ music is uncalled for. The DJ attempts to scratch and falls put me back to high school when a student DJs the dance. The flow is distracting the paper white and gold with the mismatched 70's lighting and the disco lights are off putting. The wait staff is kind the kitchen does not process orders well - our main course came out before our appetizer. Still being that the food was excellent keeping the 2 stars. For a restaurant that demands reservations one would expect more. I hope they settle on a single idea like maybe serving dinner until 9:pm and let people finish their meals before harassing them with bad DJ music. I would get carry out before ever dinning in for dinner. I understand they have a brunch - willing to try, but if the music is as loud and obnoxious I would walk out!
