Ms. Stella and Ms. Lindsay really made the experience magical for the little dancers, using fun techniques to teach them ballet and providing them with a princess ballerina kit (with a crown, wand, t-shirt, candies, and bag) when they signed up. The end-of-year show, Alice in Wonderland, was spectacular, highlighting the talent and hard work of all the studio's dancers. The occasion was special for the dancers and parents alike! Our child is in a pre-professional ballet program and has needed to heighten her arabesque, as well as become stronger and more stable in her turns -- especially as she prepares to compete in one of the most elite ballet competitions in the world. Most people assume flexibility is the key to ballet, but they don't know that strength is also a key component. The best dancers are as flexible as they are strong -- they go hand in hand. In four short weeks (with only one lesson a week), we've seen a noticeable difference in our child's arabesque as she's able to go significantly higher. Her balance has also gotten much stronger because of the work she's done with Francesca. Every week Francesca challenges our daughter with a variety of exercises to help her achieve her goals. This helps her to not become bored and keeps her motivated. Our child also likes that Francesca doesn't just tell her that everything she's doing is wonderful; she earns Francesca's "brava" and you can see her confidence grow every time Francesca does tell her she did a good job. Francesca pays the utmost attention to every detail as her client does every single rep of every single exercise she has them do, so they learn to do everything properly. Proper alignment and range of motion results in better results quicker. We are in awe of how much stronger our daughter has gotten in such a short amount of time, and with every session, we are so grateful for all the work Francesca does with her. The other thing to consider for your child (or yourself) is injury avoidance. Ballet is not easy on the joints, and our child is still growing. If she wants to dance for the rest of her life, she's going to need a body that can sustain that level of physicality. We know that by giving her time with Francesca to build her endurance, strength, and confidence, we are ultimately giving her the gift of a lifetime of movement and belief in what she is capable of. So whether it's for the love of your kid or the love of yourself, treat them to time with Francesca. It will be one of the best things you've ever done.

Most of the teachers and administration has been with the school for at least 10-20 years, which says a lot. The teachers are incredible, loving, and thoughtful about ensuring the children are reaching age appropriate milestones. Our daughter was thoroughly academically prepared for Kindergarten when she graduated. The school also attracts the most wonderful community of families, and we have made incredible friends. Finally, the school provides the children healthy lunches and year round (included) swim lessons. I don't haven enough positive things to say about it.

I had no previous swimming experience when I started and so they always made sure I was comfortable with doing any new techniques and going to a deeper side of the water. We experienced several concerning incidents with the two coaches we had during the short time we…read moreattended. What became clear very quickly is that these are young instructors with little to no experience working with children and a limited understanding of how to handle common situations that arise in a pool setting. In one instance, as a "safety exercise" the coach had my 9-year-old daughter to swim with her eyes covered with the swim cap. After my daughter became visibly upset, cried, and explained that she felt anxious and her heart was racing, the coach continued to push the exercise. I asked the coach to let it go for the time being and she agreed, but minutes later told my daughter that she would have to do it next time regardless of how she felt. Anyone working with children, especially in a swimming environment, should have at least basic training in recognizing and responding appropriately to anxiety. The coach's approach showed a lack of understanding, empathy, and judgment. This experience was unacceptable. I would not recommend spending your money here. The school appears to invest very little in properly training and preparing its instructors to work with children.
