We experienced several concerning incidents with the two coaches we had during the short time we attended. What became clear very quickly is that these are young instructors with little to no experience working with children and a limited understanding of how to handle common situations that arise in a pool setting. In one instance, as a "safety exercise" the coach had my 9-year-old daughter to swim with her eyes covered with the swim cap. After my daughter became visibly upset, cried, and explained that she felt anxious and her heart was racing, the coach continued to push the exercise. I asked the coach to let it go for the time being and she agreed, but minutes later told my daughter that she would have to do it next time regardless of how she felt. Anyone working with children, especially in a swimming environment, should have at least basic training in recognizing and responding appropriately to anxiety. The coach's approach showed a lack of understanding, empathy, and judgment. This experience was unacceptable. I would not recommend spending your money here. The school appears to invest very little in properly training and preparing its instructors to work with children. read more

I gave swim right academy another chance. My other two grandchildren enrolled. However, the same turn over rate with staff. Additionally, the same problem with instructor's instructions. My grandson and another granddaughter both were enrolled at the same level. I had an A personality teacher very anal on the most minute detail the other a B personality handing out 3 stickers every session. Neither child could just freely swim yet they were both bronze hats. They caught colds so they postponed classes as to not get anyone else sick yet we were still billed. If you stop you must repay a $200+ registration fee. The school currently has over $680 in unused payments. They will not stop the billing to exhaust this money. My grandchildren would or should complete the program before all this money was used up but there would be 0 refund! It's a scam money grubbing school so steer clear. LACES School is far cheaper & your kids will actually know how to swim. read more

First and foremost we are extremely satisfied with Swimright Academy. We've been coming to Swimright Academy for over a year now and we couldn't be happier with the swimming lessons my son's been taking. Oscar is my son's instructor and I absolutely adore him and the bond that he and my son have;Oscar is so caring and knows how to make sure that my son has fun as well as learns what he's supposed to. Symeion is also a great instructor and is my go to for any make up lessons my son needs. He's attentive, patient and also very caring. As a make-up instructor he makes sure that my son learns any missed lessons and goes a step further to make sure he's caught up. July 2023 update: My older kid has been here about a year, and my younger one just started (group lessons for both). I still give the school a 5-star rating, but with the caveat that I feel they over-emphasize the back float at the beginning, at the expense of developing strokes. I am reminded of this as my younger one is starting in the Floater class. He has some fear of floating on his back, and I think that is because in the initial Floater class, they neglect the concurrent development of strokes. Of course it is scary to float on your back when you haven't learned how to swim laterally! I think it would be better if they developed 1-2 strokes in conjunction with floating. Once you get through the initial Floater level, then it is great. My older kid is in the Freestyler (bronze) level now. The kids who make it through the whole program have excellent technique, which is on display when the pre-team practices in the evenings. read more

Based on the reviews I've been taking my son to a parent and tot class on Tuesdays at 1 pm. This means that the big pool is empty and the pool we are in only ever has 1-2 other swimmers in it. The experience is relaxing and quiet and my son has been able to be introduced to the water peacefully. It also means there's always an open bathroom to get dressed in and shower and change after which make a big difference with an infant. However the free class they make you take before signing up is on the weekends and that was terrible. Way too many kids, way too much going on, bathrooms were always full, just too much chaos. Also, I think we were lucky because our instructor, Sam. is really good with babies. He understands this isn't about technique but just about getting comfortable. He missed a class and the substitute has such a serious vibe my son cried the whole time lol she was just way too intense. All and all we've done it for about 2 months and I think we're going to stop for a few months and restart when he's older and can get more out of it but now I know how to hold him and play with him safely in the pool so it was just we much of a learning for me as for my son! read more

The thieves , simply thieves. Placed my account on autopay , I asked to remove autopay they confirmed like they did But they didn't . So the charges keep going . When I checked my bank statement I called and asked to return my money back . They opened the case , investigated and denied my request. So they just took money from my account for no services performed. The highest hierarchy manager Lorig Koujakian who was arrogant and not customers or business oriented called me aggressive and banned me from all their locations. Our daughter Nazli has been taking classes since she was 9months old and she is now 3yo. First in a toddler-parent class and now in private classes. Her teacher has always been Oscar and I have to say that we had the BEST experience we could ask for. She is so confident in the water and she enjoys her classes very much. The begging was hard but Oscar was an an outstanding teacher and transformed the fear in fun! He makes every interaction so personal and so empathetic. He remembers names and personality of each and every kid! She loves swimming with Oscar, she trust him and he is one of her role models since she was an infant. The relationship she developed with him is just amazing. He knows how to remove the fear from her, how to work on every skill customizing the class specifically for her level and personality. I don't know what we would do if Oscar would every leave. We recommend swim right 100%! And we will soon enroll our second child hoping to find and opening in Oscar's classes :) read more

In November, Swimright offered a Black Friday Deal where clients could pay both December and January tuition up front in exchange for 50% in February. I was barely able to scrape together the $1600 that was required to do this and was just contacted (via phone) and told that Swimright would no longer honor the 50% off because we aren't in a group class. Instead, they will kick us our of Swimright before we are able to use the 50% off. This looks like a very intentional design. Collect two months of tuition up front and swindle the clients out of their guaranteed discount. (Note: we are not in a group class because none of their very limited group class times work for my preschooler's schedule). I've emailed management (again) hoping for help with this impossible situation. read more

Love this place! Everyone is so interactive and encouraging here. I took only 4 classes. First three were with Maksym and the last one was with Edward. Both of them were so kind, patient and enthusiastic. I had no previous swimming experience when I started and so they always made sure I was comfortable with doing any new techniques and going to a deeper side of the water. I am not a quick learner but I would say I really got the hang of some basic yet important skills that can help me get better at swimming with time and more practice. My son started started Swimright academy about 5 months ago and he has made so much progress since then. Instructors are amazing. They have an amazing programs and the academy also have their own app that allows parents to schedule or reschedule classes. There are many days/ time options. They really make it easy for everyone. My daughter has been going for a couple months now. She is getting comfortable in the water. The lessons are 20 minutes and during that time they don't waste a second. The teachers are sure to give a quick progress report at the end of the lesson and are responsive to questions. My daughter quickly built an attachment to her teacher Molly. Nothing but positive training and reinforcement of swimming fundamentals so when you leave you know your kids will have the ability to save themselves in case of an emergency. This is a joke of a business. We have been signed up for lessons with Aracy for the last 2 months and she's missed more lessons then she's actually shown up for. We often receive a text that our lesson is cancelled 2 hours before the lesson! Look at the texts below. How is my child ever going to build upon their skills/learn how to swim in the first place when weeks are are going by between lessons? SwimRight offers 2 for 1 makeup's, which seems ok at first until you realize you have more makeup's than you'll ever be able to use because they hand them out like candy to cover their completely unprofessional constant cancellations. Spoke to the manager about it last week and he apologized and said because the teachers are independent contractors, there's literally nothing he can do. Terrible business. We're leaving. Sad we've lost so much time as it took over a month to get on the schedule in the first place. Don't waste your time! read more

While I appreciate the intent, there is no reason why I would want partial monetary credit for classes that I cannot use which don't teach my child anything. I'm out an extra $400 past the point of already having existing credits which I could not use because my daughter was so miserable. You were made aware of the issues, that is a terrible excuse for negligence and lack of effort on the part of the instructors and management. The right thing to do would be to understand that your customer has been with you for a long time and in this case you have failed to provide the service the customer paid for. read more

My son has been attending for over six months now, and he loves it. The sticker system is great and really motivating, which works well in today's world. You can always switch trainers, which is awesome because we currently have Maurice, and we like him a lot. Before Maurice, we had another trainer for only three sessions, and during those sessions, we didn't get any stickers. The trainer wasn't making sense to us--doing exercises my son already knew. It seemed like the trainer didn't like how he was doing them. The last straw was when a 20-minute personal session, which is already short, ended after just 17 minutes. That's just ridiculous. We've been bringing our daughter here for the last 6 months and we really enjoy it! We don't have access to a private pool so finding a class with its own facility was key. The JCC location is beautiful and well maintained. Easy parking and lots of dressing rooms and showers for all. They offer many class times and are flexible with make up classes if you need to shift schedules here or there. The instructors are patient and seem to really enjoy the kids. Our daughter is only 11 months so I can't say there has been a drastic difference in her technical ability, but she has grown much more comfortable in the water and is starting to show signs of understanding her survival skills (rolling, grabbing the wall, etc.). read more
