I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Rick from Stucco Pros was frustrating from start to finish. In my opinion, he was extremely unprofessional throughout the entire project. It constantly felt like he just wanted to rush through the job as fast as possible, and there were several times when he became very difficult to reach. Calls and messages often went unanswered, which made the whole process even more stressful. After he left, the work didn't hold up at all. Parts of it started failing shortly afterward, and the paint job looked like it was done in a hurry -- uneven, sloppy, and absolutely not the quality I was expecting or paying for. Much of it now needs to be redone properly by someone else. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Rick or Stucco Pros to anyone. Absolutely terrible experience with Stucco Pros and Plastering. I would strongly advise anyone considering this company or their owner, Ricardo "Ric" Ramirez, to stay far away. They completely ruined parts of my brand-new roof, caused serious damage to my pool equipment, and left the property looking like a disaster zone. There was concrete overspray everywhere--including hardened spots stuck to my patio and pool deck--and piles of wet cement and debris left behind. Electrical wires were left exposed, and they made zero effort to clean up the mess. When I reached out about the damage, they took no accountability and offered no help fixing the problem. I wanted to smooth coat stucco my back yard block wall for a major back yard remodel. I interviewed 6 different companies before coming across a stucco contractor that knew how to do smooth coat the correct way. It was a 5-6 step process that none of the other contractors did. Most just wanted to do a three coat process which would not have given me the proper finish over the style of block the wall was constructed of. The owner of the company "Ric" came out and explained in detail the steps he and his crew would go through. They did it perfectly and i could not be happier with the finished look. And on top of this he was 1/2 or more less $ than other quotes. Thank you Ric and please thank your crew for me. Be careful. Work is good but pay attention to the details. They are lacking. And by details I mean they billed me for work I already paid for. They called and asked if they left material weeks after they came and picked up material. And you have to be very specific about your wants/needs or don't expect them to be fulfilled. Overall I like the work. The texture is exactly what I wanted and the color is beautiful. But you have to stay on top of them or else it's your fault. Ric is offended if you criticize any work. They came back to finish work and overall I'm happy but it's a lot of excuses and push back. I was also accused of being unable to afford the last payment of 500. But I already paid 99.5 percent of the balance. Last note after the workers left I noticed a leaking front pipe and mentioned it to Ric and didn't accuse him or his team of breaking it the pipe. I simply stated that they could have let me know about the leak. I was told that "it's not their responsibility". Which is fair, but ask yourself is that someone "I want working on my house?" Stucco pros they are not. Had Rick do a walk through of a simply reskin job on a block wall that was flat finished. He quoted and we agreed on the rate. He showed up late or not at all on three occasions. His crew rushed through the initial coating and instead of letting it dry put the stucco on. The next morning about 40% of the wall had bubbled and cracked away from the wall. Rick himself then came and attempted to redo those sections only to make it worse. He used a different product and the texture in this area looked like the surface of the moon. He painted it and I advised it was in worse shape than he found it. He gave numerous excuses. He then tried to negotiate the rate down to get out of the job. I then provided him a video of the area that needed to be redone a 3rd time. He called me become very rude, swearing and said god bless and hung up. I assume he is not coming today....Would not recommend Rick or his company for even the basics of a stucco job. He said he is the number 1 stucco guy in the area. That he is not. read more

When I complained, he came back and for an additional fee attempted to fix his shoddy work. Unfortunately, his second attempt turned out worse than the first attempt. First and most important: this guy isn't licensed which means he's probably not insured which exposes you to tremendous legal risks should a mishap occur. That said, I wouldn't let this guy work on a dog house. Where do I begin? Let's start with punctuality, or lack thereof. He's failed to show up as promised too many times to count. The times he did grace us with his presence he was oftentimes unapologetically late. The workmanship was poor and of shoddy quality. Multiple cracks, poor blending, razor thin coating, over spray on the patio cover, pavers, and surrounding structures which they couldn't be bothered to rectify. Multiple leaks which caused the interior walls to get soaked; something guaranteed against in the toilet paper contract. A contract he has zero intention of honoring once the check has cleared. They failed to put back several fixtures they had removed. They also left trash and urine filled water bottles behind as souvenirs. Finally, the guy has a horrible attitude especially if you point out anything that needs addressing. Please do yourself a huge favor and steer clear of this fraudulent and unethical business. We are in the process of filing a complaint with the contractor license board and the BBB. Learn from our mistake and the mistakes of the other reviewers. Rick shouldn't be in business. Bad experience from the beginning. Bad communication and worse performance. Ric quoted us for only half the job (Demo) and then tried to back pedal saying "he didn't quote the whole job". He was rude to my wife during the process. Had a no show that he didn't bother to tell us until I called asking where he was. Would've have another no-show but I texted the night before and he said they weren't coming the day they agreed to come. They messed up on understanding what we were asking and cut the pillars too short so I had to go and buy another one. They said they were going to prime the wood with their primer if we got the paint, which they didn't. We told them what we wanted and continued to mess it up. Broke a piece of another pillar so I had to go and buy another piece of wood. They tried to put it back on and paint over it! When they finally "completed" the job, it looked like a product I would've gotten from Wish or Temu. It was awful, shoddy work that they thought would pass for completed work. We basically had to do the whole thing again with Hugo there so it could get done right. They kept saying "we do stucco, we don't do this kind of wood work" then don't bid on a job if you can't do it! A pain in the *** from the start. They finally did a good job at the end, but it took them essentially two times to do it and a lot of arguing and complaining to get there. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

Stucco Pros did a great job filling in cracks in the stucco and patching areas wear the stucco was coming loose from the wall. They blended the new stucco with the existing stucco such that after painting there was no sign a repair was done. I would us them again for future stucco repairs. read more

Started out good, got a reasonable bid for a stucco job. Agreed to hire them. Waited a couple of weeks for them to be available, then Ric said he "wanted to meet to sign contracts and they'd get started." He doesn't show up at the appointment time. I call, and text. He responds that he will be 3 hours later than the agreed time. Not a great start, but ok, maybe he's busy, stuff happens. He shows up, and suddenly the price starts jumping. I call him on it, and Ric had all sorts of excuses... "Oh, that wasn't included" or "We didn't discuss that." (yes, we did.) Then he started in with the hard sales pitch, like a used car salesman. "Bro, we do quality work." Uh, yeah, everyone says that, and you quoted a price, got the job, and now want to change the price. I told him what he did was bullshit, and he stormed off angry, and then spun his tires as he left in a huff. I had Ric and his company come out to do the front of my home. shiela, his sister came to do the inspection and she stated "the old stucco will be shaved/scraped off and new stucco applied". Upon arrival, Ric stated that taking off the old stucco was not in the quote and they would just put the new stucco over the old. After looking at another section there was damage to the brown coat and Ric then wanted more for the brown coat and weep seal for future water damage prevention. All the while he kept saying that everything he was doing was top quality and calling me "bro" constantly. After getting further in, the stucco on one section had to be taken down and redone due to a bulge. After the already laid out stucco was drying they patched the bulge area with a different mixture and didn't properly transition the texture from dry stucco to new patch. He is now currently unavailable and unsure if he wants to come fix the problem, although I was given a 5 year work guarantee warranty. I will not remove or revise my comment or rating until this is fixed! My wall was fixed, but not without an altercation involving Ric saying "you tell me what we did wrong" when confronting him about the shorty job. The stucco peels off with the brush of a hand and requires paint touch ups constantly if anything brushes against the stucco. read more

BAD experience, not professional nor on time! Ric came out about a month ago mid september 2021. Had the snake oil salesman vibe, but decided to go with him because he kept bombarding me with photos of work that he was doing or did, and it looked good so he gained my trust. He scheduled me 3 weeks later for October 25th, a date which he had chosen. I double checked with him and said is it for sure? He said 25th 100%. I wanted to make sure because I told him that I needed to notify my neighbors, my tenants, and I needed to block out a week on my Airbnb calendar as he was doing work to one of my airbnbs, which means no reservations or revenues. A week before Oct 25th, I had to chase Ric down to ask about payment and a work contract, he said he would email me the next day. Never emailed me nothing, and for payment he said dont worry pay him in full when the work is done so I said ok. Oct 25th rolls around, he is no where to be found. He said he would start at 8am, and I called and reached out to him at 10am, noon, and no answer. He finally responded back in the evening and basically said he forgot and that he could start in 1 more week. Not cool, nor professional, I had blocked out my Airbnb calendar which means I lost about $1500 in revenue because Ric "simply forgot" After reading all his bad reviews, there is a common theme, while he has done good work for others, be really really cautious moving forward with this guy, he seems like someone that will say anything to get your business, then change plans on you or the price, according to the other reviews. If I could give zero stars I would. First of all Ric came to my door after doing work down the street. He is a snake oil salesmen and will over promise and underdeliver. Job was estimated to take one week. It took 3 weeks. Crew was never on time or complete. Ric stored his trailer on our property without our permission while we were out of town one weekend. Everything was redone multiple times and when he left I still upset by how everything turned out. He was asked to drywall and finish the garage, Build a planter, stucco in Santa Barbara smooth the front of the house and repaint the paneling also in the front. The stucco was redone multiple times because it kept cracking --Ric admitted with my fiancé as witness that the material the had used was not the best and had issues. The planter was sloppily done. The bricks are crooked in some places the cement was over filled in some places while in others it was under filled. Blew out an electrical outlet and tried to blame us. Worst customer service. Went out of his way to tell us our job was small and insignificant compared to the big OC houses he usually works on. Buddy you didn't do us any favors. You gave us a price on a job and we paid you. I feel bad for any homes he may work on in the future because it will be a waste of your money and you are better off going elsewhere. I have a neighbor who is an electrician and I will be having him check the electrical done in the recessed lighting to ensure my garage won't burn Update: They broke my garage door while working in the garage. We had a bridge that goes over our pool crack underneath with falling plaster etc..this is a difficult repair because it requires getting into the pool with scaffolding and plastic to prevent debris from falling into the pool..a few companies did not want the job but Ric and his 2 other workers took it on..it was a 2 day job and they were clean and very conscientious..also they had a lot to carry up and down the stairs since the house was built on a slope..very pleased with the outcome. read more
