I will share that I evaluate contractors not only how good the job turns out, but other things like being on time, being communicative, and not being distracted constantly with phone calls and such. My job was doing wall and ceiling patches after a plumbing issue / fix. Some of the holes had acceptable undamaged drywall pieces, but also had holes with none of the original drywall. The wall also had texture, which they aspired to match. I still had my paint so they didn't have to get chips to recreate color. Ricardo showed up early to do his estimate, which I do recommend vs the online process. He indicated his team availability and provided a quote. After going through others who were either a lot more expensive (some had minimum job cost requirements) and some others had other things about timing, price, etc, I proceeded to hire Ricardo Painting. Hugo came early the next day and stayed on schedule with disciplined execution. Didn't try to rush - eg rushing mud to dry, or applying paint coats too early. He really wanted to match the wall texture and did a great job. I will know where the repair was, but only ones trying to find it will actually notice. They said less than 2 days, and it was done. Highly, highly recommend! Ricardo was a godsend! We hired a different painter who did a terrible limewash job in our nursery. So I reached out to Ricardo to see if he could fix the poorly done paint job and rehab the wall. It now looks way better than I imagined. Their quote was very competitive and they estimated 1-2 days to complete, but it took less than 6 hours to turn these 2 super dark walls to pure white. Insane. I was worried considering it's such a drastic change from dark paint to white, and one wall was loft height 2-story tall (over 17') and the other one was around 13' tall wall. They did it with ease. I had leaking water pipes and had to have them all replaced. The plumbers had to knock holes under my sinks, by my toilets and on the outside of my house to do the work. I am a landlord that has tenants that received some water damage in their ceiling. After repairing the issue, I needed some paint (maybe also plaster) work done. Ricardo was very responsive right up until the agreed upon day of work... then nothing Until I message him trying to find out what's going on and he mentions that he "overlooked" the schedule and effectively forgot about me. I tried to cut some slack and tried to ask for the next available slot, but he has since "ghosted" me with no reply in DAYS (going on 3 days as of this review). With there being multiple opportunities for redemption during our brief transaction, not one apology for standing me up on our appointment, and "ghosting" potential clientele... I am surprised that I see so many other rave reviews. Those reviews were the reason I tried him out in the first place, so this review is especially disappointing to write. EDIT from 1-star to 2 as of 7/25/23: I was able to get a response following the posting of my initial review. I decided to continue pursue a transaction with Ricardo due to the strength of some other positive reviews. While communication was still lacking and i wouldn't hear back for sometimes a few days at a time, eventually we got to a point where the job actually started. We had a living room and two bedrooms painted by Ricardo and Andy. He was thorough in explaining the process and was able to color match to what we wanted off a swatch from Lowe's. All in, it took only 3 days for cleaning, prep, primer and paint and they did excellent work. The cut lines around the ceiling and railings look great and even covered up some of the previous imperfections.
