By far the best painter out there! I just wrapped up my 3rd project with Sammy and S&H Painting-- these guys are amazing. Through experience, I can tell you that not all painting companies are created equal. When looking for a painter, be sure to ask specific questions about the prep and process-- a cheap painter or handyman will work fast, but it often shows in the details (you know-- sloppy paint lines, brush marks, paint on trim, etc). Prep and the details are by far the most important factors and take the most time. If your painter is skimping on this, you're wasting your money-- I've been burned in the past to learn this lesson. Sammy's team takes plenty of time to make sure the space is carefully taped off so that your floors are protected. Door knobs and lighting fixtures are REMOVED, not taped around. Nail holes are patched and textured to make sure the patching is not noticeable. Thorough power-washing of exterior, thorough sanding on baseboards, crown molding and cabinetry. Sammy is onsite everyday to make sure work is completed up to his standard-- and it's a high standard. A couple of times during our project (full interior and exterior painting, plus cabinet painting), I thought we were done, and he would point out extremely minor things that I did not even notice that he took care of to make sure it was up to his standard. When the job was completed, everything was spotless. Trash from all the masking (an there was a lot of it) was all taken away. A job well done indeed, and well above every high expectation and standard I had. For a job of this quality and standard, S&H Painting is by far the best value in town! We hired someone else to scrape the popcorn, plaster and paint the ceilings in our bedrooms and living room. Although the job looked good at first, after a few days it started to crack. We chalked it up to the colder weather and maybe not enough dry time before painting and asked the vendor to come back to scrape and redo the spots with cracks, unfortunately they came back... worse than before. This is when we called S&H... Sammy came to look at the ceilings and diagnosed the situation the same day. He was very friendly, seemed to know exactly what went wrong and told us he had no concern that he could fix. We agreed on a price the next day and his guys started 2 days later. When I contacted the company for a quote, Sammy responded the same day and set up an appointment with us. The quote was better than I expected and his employees did excellent work. They were always on time, interacted with us regularly, and the service they provide for the price is amazing. They took special care of all of the existing flooring and appliances and covered everything up before painting. They also spent an entire day sanding, covering windows, and power washing the house. Also included in their service was patching up any areas on the building that needed repair as well as removing any old wires and attachments from the wall and roof that were no longer needed or functional.
