AAA told me to call Ricardo's to have my 2003 Matrix towed, after my clutch broke. The guy seemed very friendly (arriving at my house at 7am) but immediately started complaining about how early it was. To make a long story short, he hooked my car to the flatbed truck incorrectly, and when we stopped to get gas, realized that the way he had hitched my truck, split my gas hose, and there was gasoline leaking all over the flatbed. I called AAA after we dropped the car off at the garage, and they suggested that I try to deal with the issue through the towing company. So, I called them, explained the story, and they denied it all (PLUS the owner of the company NEVER returned my call). I ended up spending weeks dealing with AAA to get them to reimburse me for the hose damage, and eventually they did. I obviously should have documented things more carefully (like the gas leak, taken pictures, etc.) but at the time this didn't occur to me. This company is unreliable and the guy who towed my car was more interested in trying to hit on me than the safety of my car. So ridiculous and totally unprofessional. If you care about your vehicle, do NOT use this company unless it is the last resort. Also, make sure you know HOW your car should be towed and double check everything! read more

Where should I start. I called AAA because my car was overheating due to lack of coolant/antifreeze, they told me the truck would be there within the hour. They actually arrived in about 15 minutes, which was pretty good for 12AM. The guy asks me where I live, and freaks out when he hears how far it is. Really? This is your job, my job isn't great, and I don't freak out at customers. He barely chained my car to the flatbed correctly, and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't roll up the lift... IT WAS IN PARK. We got it onto the flatbed, and got going. Aside from being a pretty cool guy, and being hilarious might I add. He was a horrible driver, he was weaving through lanes, TEXTING while driving, and speeding. Now for the worst part, we got to my house, and he lowered the car and started it up, the engine was sputtering due to lack of coolant and he asked, does this thing have a "dual cam". First off, a car doesnt SPUTTER when it has a DUAL OVERHEAD CAM engine... It was sputtering and making wirring noises because it was bone dry. Had he let the car run any longer, it would have blown the headgasket. In short, AAA get your shit together. Stop giving this horrid company business, they have no desire to tow trucks for you anyway, and they give you a bad name. read more

BEWARE!! Please even if you're stuck on the side of the road (like I was) don't use this towing company! When I broke down they drove by and got me. They towed my car back to their yard because they wouldn't take check only cash and wouldn't wait for me to go to the bank to get the money. When I called them to get it out I was told call back in 2 days we're closed for the holiday. I did just that! Long story short 200 turned into 700. They won't tell me how it got that high just kept hanging up! Have to have police department go with me to get the list of charges! I've never personally used this company. HOWEVER, there is a horrible snow storm today and I have a small car and it was not doing too good in the snow, the truck driver was behind me on 140 and stayed probably one foot behind me the whole commute, thought he might actually hit me when I was taking the ramp to get off. I understand the reviews about their crazy driving. Will never use or recommend this company due to that driver, nice work Ricardo's. read more

I donated my old car to the Vietnam Veterans of America, so arrangements were made through their donation program. We set a date, with the time being open. That worked for me as I am retired and my time is my own. Ricardo's Towing came within the stated hours. The young man who came was very polite and friendly. He had a proper receipt made out for me and we exchanged the necessary paperwork. He loaded the car quickly. The whole transaction took no more than 15 minutes. It was handled professionally and efficiently. My experience with Richardo's towing was very good; I would recommend them to anyone needing towing services. read more

This is the absolute worst towing company I have ever dealt with. First of all They don't even have an office, it's actually a junkyard called Acme auto salvage. They only take cash for payment. What a joke in this day and age who does not take a credit card for something like having your car towed. It's a couple of guys riding around in one tow truck all day looking for toes using their cell phone. There isn't even a sign out front that says Ricardo's towing at the address provided. They are very rude on the phone as well in person and actually held my car hostage for an extra night just so they could get the extra money for impound fee The next day. They wouldn't even tell me their address when I first called. The man on the phone told me he would call me back and let me know the address later. It is not the address online that comes up on Woodward Dr when you search for them, the actual address is 544 Hicksville Rd., Dartmouth mass and no one is there during the day. It's just a gate at the top of a dirt road in someone's driveway that leads to the junkyard. You almost need four-wheel-drive just to get down to where your car is. I am going to be reporting them to the IRS because I am sure the reason they only take cash is because they do not submit these jobs to the IRS. Stay away no matter what. You will absolutely regret dealing with these people. read more

Unbelievably the WORST towing company that I EVER deal with in all my 41 years! Called AAA for roadside service. They informed me that someone should be out within 45 minutes. After 50 minutes, I call. They told me that he should be there soon. 20 more minutes....nothing. Called AAA back and they called company to get status. Finally, after nearly 2 hours, the guy shows up. I told him that I have been waiting 2 hours and he says he just got the call 10 minutes ago. Which my reply was "Really?" sarcastically of course. He then told me that I can wait more and got in his truck and left. Called back AAA and they sent someone else out in 10 minutes. Made complaint with AAA and then called towing company. Ricardo's threated to come back to where my car was and promised that I'd regret it if he did. No words can be said as to the lack of professionalism, rudeness, disrespect and ethics as this Towing company. Stay away! read more

Just got my car towed from Westboro to Dartmouth. When I called to get an estimate, the gentleman asked for locations' addresses and called back with the price. It was not cheap but it was clear cut clean and without the " well, we'll see, depends on the mileage, or we charge by the hour...or like West End in New Bedford that never picked up the phone after i called back a million times even though he knew I was to call back ( this last night in the middle of my emergency). And so I agreed to pay what he asked for. Ricardo's did not overcharge me, he was about the same as everyone else that I called. The young driver ( K) who came by was excellent, not only did he come by the house to get the key, he was pleasant and respectful, the kind that does not make you feel like an idiot bec you don't know much about cars. There was something very real about this guy, he is kind and professional. I hope whoever is in charge recognizes they have an outstanding driver and gives him what he deserves. I have had some unhappy experiences in the best. As I said, not cheap but my choice was the right one, besides, I think it's a good thing to sustain local business.
