Rich the barber was very kind and accommodating, made me feel totally comfortable as he was able to work with my fine hair and beard. I let him know that I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted but that his hair looked great and I told him just do whatever you could with mine and that I trusted his judgment, he even did a facial with a warm towel and some nice face creams! My experience with the owner/manager (not sure who he was) was extremely negative and unacceptable. He confronted us in the parking lot, aggressively questioned us about parking, and accused us of lying about receiving services. His tone was confrontational and accusatory which felt harassing and completely unprofessional. When I told him I did not appreciate being spoken to that way, rather than de-escalate, he dismissed our concerns and called us "sensitive" for addressing his behavior. Instead of handling the situation professionally, he doubled down, which made the interaction feel even more hostile and disrespectful. I genuinely enjoyed my facial here, but this experience has made me seriously reconsider returning. It appears the parking attendant or management may ultimately hurt the business if clients continue to be spoken to this way. read more

I wanted to leave an honest review for others who are considering this salon. My intention is not to write something negative just to complain, but to share my experience because I do feel there are areas that could be improved. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. When I arrived, I had to wait around 20 to 30 minutes before being seen. Once the appointment started, I felt like my concerns were brushed off instead of being listened to. I clearly explained the color I wanted and also asked multiple times if the products were ammonia-free because that was important to me. I was told yes, but during the service the product had a very strong chemical smell, which made me uncomfortable. I also felt uncomfortable with the way he communicated. Even though I was speaking for myself, he kept directing some of the conversation toward my daughter, as if I could not understand or explain what I wanted. That did not feel respectful. The haircut was also not what I asked for. I requested long layers, but it felt rushed and uneven. Instead of carefully sectioning and shaping the hair, it seemed like my hair was just grabbed and cut quickly. Afterward, my hair felt extremely dry, bushy, and damaged. The color came out much darker than I wanted, almost jet black, even though I had asked for brown. The color also did not last well, even though I only went last week. Overall, I left feeling unheard and disappointed. I really wanted to like the experience, but the service felt rushed, dismissive, and unprofessional. I went with my mom to this salon for her haircut and hair color, and honestly the experience was very disappointing. I'm not writing this to just say something bad, but more so the salon/manager can see what happened and hopefully improve. My mom clearly said she wanted brown hair color and long layers, but the color came out way darker than what she asked for, almost black. The haircut also was not proper long layers. It felt like the hair was just grabbed and cut quickly instead of taking the time to section it and shape it nicely. The communication also made us uncomfortable. My mom was speaking and explaining what she wanted herself, but the stylist kept talking to me like I needed to explain for her. My mom understands English and was clearly communicating, so that did not feel respectful. She also asked many times if the product was ammonia free because that was important to her, and she was told yes. But during the service, the smell was very strong, which made us feel uncomfortable and unsure. After the appointment, her hair felt extremely dry, rough, and damaged. Overall, my mom left very upset with both the color and the haircut. I feel like the salon could improve by listening more carefully, being clear about the products being used, and taking more time with the service. I was here a couple of weeks ago for my root touch up and Todd did another great job, in fact it was so good I decided to bring my 17 year old niece in to get a hair cut and highlights today and Todd did not disappoint. The color and cut was on point. My niece loves beachy waves and Todd explained he doesn't offer that with his services, which was not a big deal, so we had him blow dry her hair after the cut and color and we ran the curler thru her hair when we got home. I purchased a Groupon for a men's haircut and shave at Ricca Donna Salon and it has been nothing short of a nightmare. First, they're nearly impossible to get in touch with -- multiple calls and messages go unanswered. When I finally reached someone and mentioned I had a Groupon, they flat-out told me they don't accept them. At that time, the Groupon was available online, so this feels like a complete bait-and-switch. Their only advice was to contact Groupon for a refund. I'd gone to Jamie for years and trusted her to get it right. I left on Saturday in tears over what she did to my color. At first, it came out neon clown orange and I started to cry. She tried to "fix" it by putting pink over it, but I ended up leaving the salon looking like the little mermaid rather than the light rose gold ginger she had done so perfectly on me for months. She got the wrong color, tried to convince me that it was right by bringing out the color swatches from the brand and saying that the purple mixed in would tone it down. Then, when it came out horribly wrong, she tried telling me it was probably a mistake from the brand because they mix the colors in big vats. Obviously trying to pass the blame onto someone else. She would not give me a refund after I spent a couple days trying to adjust to the color and try to be okay with it. If this was the color I had wanted, I would have been totally happy. But it's not. I wasn't going to write a review, but when I texted her asking for a refund she said no and sent another passive aggressive text thanking me for my "insults." Incredibly unprofessional and childish. Attached the color she'd previously done on me that was correct along side the butchered color. Don't go to Jamie for anything but the most basic things. This is my first visit at Ricca Donna salon and my hair stylist was Todd. He was friendly and we had a great conversation and he listened to which style I wanted. The hair salon was very unique with some cool decor. I got my haircut, full hair color, deep-conditioning treatment and blowdry done within 2 hours and it came out very nice! IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!! I came to Von to get a balayage on my virgin hair for the first time, and I regret going there every day since. I came in with many pictures of what I wanted and took the time to explain to Von of what I wanted on my hair, which was a subtle balayage that starts under my ears and slowly fade into a blonde, but still got what I didn't want. Instead of the subtle balayage I wanted, I got chunky, uneven, highlights with framing strands that are not even in the front to frame the face! Not blended gradually into a lighter color then my natural hair, but chunks of highlights that go higher up on my hair on the right side. This was a terrible first experience getting my hair done, now instead of enjoying my hair more, I'm trying to find ways to fix this mess!!! Today I visited Todd at Ricca Donna because I used a groupon for a hair cut. Originally I bought a blowout from another salon, but figured I was on budget crunch and just found a stylist with top notch marks locally and for a great deal. I love my current stylist, but south county is a little far to drive on occasion. Todd was friendly and really helpful as far as asking what I was looking for in a cut- trim or really take some length off. I wanted about an inch taken off, and layers cleaned up. I felt confident because of his reviews and his years of experience. He deep conditioned my hair with this amazing Nirvel mask. Then he brushed out my hair and began to trim- he actually had me stand up for the first part to ensure it was very even. I liked that! The blow dry was very nice. I was disappointed though to learn the "style" wasn't part of the groupon. The wording was changed to just "blow dry." I think just because I assumed a hair cut came with that- and I didn't want to pay an extra $15 for more body. My hair definitely needs some style and body- but it's ok. His blow dry was really good!! Overall- the salon was easy to get to, had a good vibe inside, and Todd was so meticulous and did a really great job!! I'm literally one of the worst people when it comes to hair care, I literally never get hair cuts, dye jobs (other than DIY color) and hardly ever do deep conditioning maintenance. With saying this going to a stylist is never something fun for me because of the ridicule. I was happy to find a salon pretty close to my place that takes afternoon weekend appointments. I was helped by Todd who not only was a wonderful conversation but he was incredibly helpful and listened to everything i wanted. I asked for a freshen up on my layers, a slight trim and dyed all over black, this also was with a deep condition. I have natural red in my hair and Todd's expertise definitely shined through with this tips and tricks to get rid of the red to get the color i wanted. Now for the cut,i know every single person has gotten a bad hair cut to the point where they are terrified to try out any one new, or even worse the stylist who doesn't like to listen and chops off 5 inches when all you wanted was a trim. When Todd asked me what i wanted he was precise in doing that exact thing. I also asked for some face framing layers and again his years of experience shines. After the rejuvenating deep conditioning my hair felt so smooth and soft, it was wonderful! When everything was said and done my hair looked and felt amazing, the layers and the cut was beautiful. I wasn't going to give this review at first, but after I saw the hairstylist doesn't care about his clients, I figured there's no reason for me to look out for his reputation. I made an appointment with Todd and got lowlights throughout my bleach blonde hair, which turned out a little uneven around my roots after the first appointment. I reached out to him and he was nice enough to make time for me and add more panels to blend out the roots later that week. It was gorgeous, and I was so happy, fast forward to ONE WEEK later. I barely washed my hair three times (which was so difficult as I have such oily hair) being careful to try and extend my color and use a color protecting shampoo, but within the same week I saw him, my hair color washed out!!!!!!!!! I messaged him about it and told him what happened and he didn't have the decency to apologize or respond at all. I mentioned I didn't want him to do anything more to not damage my hair further, but the fact that I paid $100 for ONE WEEK'S worth of hair color is so stupid. I'm incredibly dissatisfied and disappointed because I thought Todd was such a nice and cool person at first! But after seeing he doesn't care enough to even answer back is astounding. I'm so upset that I wasted a little over $100 for a hair color that didn't last. For reference, it's not like my hair doesn't hold color well, because years ago I went back to a brunette after bleaching and the color lasted for months! This is something to be cautious of before coming to this salon, which I thought would be my new go-to until this happened.
