Best pizza and service I've ever received ever, Vito the owner is absolutely amazing and the food is awesome! The garlic bread was very delicious and the hot honey pizza was so good! Very cool place and has very cool art

Back at Riccardo's and tonight we started with the Sweet and Sourdough Garlic Bread appetizer. Three and a half to four day naturally fermented sourdough bread serves as the base for a very generous helping of garlic along with other toppings, most notably the sweet and spicy hot honey. In my opinion, it's just sweet enough to earn the name but not too sweet or garlicky and not too spicy. It does leave my lips and tongue with a nice tingle, all ready for any of the traditional Italian specialties from Riccardo's kitchen. I've commented to chef and owner Vito Russo that I'm always amazed he manages to bake this special starter to be crispy and crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside with a great chew. The only possible downside is overeating so you can't finish your main dish!

Riccardo's combination of authenticity, ambiance, experience and especially the Browns Mills Tomato Pie, make this an easy 5 star review.

We're visiting family and decided to stop by here to eat. Place was really good. Service was excellent and ALL the staff were friendly. Even the staff doing in and out to make deliveries greeted us with a smile. The pizza was good but I don't eat meat so I had to add salt to mine. Saltiness may come from the pepperoni which is likely why I felt like mine was lacking. Definitely give it a try if you are in the area. Cool setting inside , nice and clean.

Five stars are not adequate to describe this hidden gem! Owned and operated by the Russo family for over 50 years and they will treat you like family. Only the freshest high-quality ingredients, many imported from Italy, are used to craft their massive selection of pizzas, pasta dishes, and entrees. They even make their own mozzarella cheese from scratch daily! Desserts are fabulous too--if you have room after all the delicious appetizers and meals! Everything on the menu is truly top-shelf, and it's clear that Chef Vito overlooks no detail. Staff is friendly and welcoming. To eat here once is to become a regular customer. Worth a drive, it is truly a destination for Italian food. The best pizza my family and I have ever had-we especially love the Salvo pie, the Browns Mills Tomato Pie, and the Detroit Pie. You will not be disappointed!

Love this pizza restaurant. Great decorations inside and even better pizza. We tried their new sourdough garlic bread appetizer and it was seriously SO GOOD. Would definitely return here when I'm back in town.

    Browns Mill Tomato Pie

While on my way to go dinner elsewhere, google maps took me down an unexpected road and I came across Riccardo's Pizza & Italian Restaurant and their bright sign saying they are the Home of the Browns Mill Tomato Pie. Intrigued but this I made a quick U-turn and stopped in for a slice. The Browns Mill Tomato Pie is divine. A perfectly thin and crispy crust with a great under carriage adorned by one of the best tomato sauces I have ever encountered on a pizza. And topped with the perfect amount of mozzarella cheese. One of the signs of a great pizza of course starts with the dough which makes for a pizza that doesn't feel like lead once you've eaten it. The dough is made fresh everyday and is proofed for 2-3 days (depending on the pizza) by their founder Sal hailing from Carini Sicily, who founded this restaurant back in 1974. Everyone who works there is super friendly, knowledgeable, and they make you truly feel at home. Being a nice night we decided to dine al fresco at their outdoor fire pit. While this was my first time coming here it certainly won't be my last. Do yourself a favor and go try this hidden gem for yourself.

Almost walked into the wrong door, should go into the door that says welcome in front of :] Was seated with a big party and requested everything, since the party had placed everything in, already. Had a mom and pops feel with a bit of modern flair. Def room to hold bigger parties. It's got a good space and welcoming vibe. The menu has a fusion of Italian/Hispanic/americana tastes. Def made me feel conflicted between my actual choice of Ricardo's Eggplant Special and one of the BLTs, I'm a sucker for bacon. It was filled with all the goodies! Spinach, cheese, sun dried tomatoes, onions, and peppers, but the only thing I felt was lacking a kick! All in all, it was delish!

Ask the Community - Riccardo's Pizza Restaurant

I am wondering in Riccardo's Pizza has gift certificates. My grandson is in the Navy and relocating from the west coast to Browns Mills (Lakehurst Base). I thought it might be a nice Christmas gift to aquaint him to some local pizza?

Yes they do!!! It’s a gift card!

I usually would dabble on Chile Rellenos for any first time meal at a Mexican joint, but I need nachos and this place delivered, especially with the portion. I have heard this place is spotty with prep and taste consistency, I've had them twice for nachos, the other for carnitas for pick up and they had everything backed nicely and in a party tray. Not a lot of seating and they charge extra for credit, but that's how they get more bang for your buck. Love decently close and I'd go here, hands down, for my nachos craving... pricey, but as mentioned, big serving.

The mall itself has been filling out with more restaurants lately but this spot has always been my go-to when I'm craving hearty Mexican food. I first stumbled on it years ago while getting my uniform tailoring done next door and it's been a favorite ever since. The food is consistently delicious and filling. They start you off with complimentary chips and salsa, which is always a nice touch while waiting for your meal. My usual order comes with a great mix of tacos, rice, and refried beans, and the portions are generous enough that you definitely won't leave hungry.....though you might leave in a food coma! The interior isn't exactly glamorous, but once the food arrives, you'll probably forget all about how it looks inside. I also appreciate that they now accept credit cards though they still offer a discount if you pay with cash. Overall, this place delivers great value, big plates, and tasty comfort food in an unassuming spot.
