As a lifelong LA Dodger fan I had promised my sons that I would get a Dodger Tattoo the next time they won the World Series. Well that was 2020 and now after 3 World Series wins in 6 years I finally said yes. Couldn't have been happier with the experience I had at Rice Street Tattoo. A friend of mine recommended this place to me, I filled out their form on google and they got back to me very quickly. L'bert Rivas got me booked fast! The shop is super cozy, every artist is very professional, very friendly and easy to talk to. L'Bert was extremely thorough and considerate. He took his time to make sure I was happy with the stencil and was open to making any changes that I suggested. These guys are like your typical rip offs from a tattoo shop. They took someones first tattoo experience and shit all over it. I dont know how they justify charging $100 PER TATTOO for something thats approx 4 inches in size, waaaay smaller than a business card size, in black. I thought that was crazy but after getting other shops opinions, I KNOW they gave zero fucks about the experience, just out for money. They just wanted to take advantage of us I guess, what a rip off. $100 for approx 15 min of their time. I guess they think they deserve approx $400 an hr. Will never recommend or return. Dont waste your money, take it somewhere else this place is not worth it. I was in the state for a short time and contacted the owner, Tony, about getting some script work done. He went above and beyond to get me squeezed in even though he's booked out for a long time. He was super responsive, understanding, and when I showed up the stencil he had drawn up for me was FLAWLESS. I've been tattooed all over the country and some shops just stick with you as somewhere you wish was local, and this is definitely one of them. This was my 5th tattoo and 4th parlor. I can't recommend this place enough. This was the best experience out of all 5. The environment was comfortable to be in which for me L'bert was my artist. I came in with a drawing of what I wanted and he made it better than what I or the artist (my fiancé) could've ever imagined. During the tattoo he stopped multiple times throughout the session to ask me what I wanted to do at certain steps (color, outlines, etc.). I was able to get up and look at the tattoo in the mirror throughout the process. He provided his professional opinions, which helped in my decision process, but there was no pressure to do it one way or the other. He must have the magic touch because the pain was very minimal until the very end (almost like I had been poked by needles for an hour) and the healing process has been amazing! I hardly had any irritation and what little I did have was gone after a day or two and peeling stopped at just under a week. The only "negative" thing I have to say is when I made my appointment, he didn't take my number so if something should have happened he wouldn't have been able to contact me...Luckily for me everything worked out! read more
