After extensive research, we decided to go with Brandon and his crew at Arbor Science. They mostly don't advertise; it's word of mouth, and let me tell you, I found a whole bunch of people that have used him for years, and are extremely happy (I hear their trees are also happy too). :-) First, Brandon did a through site survey with us, and took the time to not only tells us about the many species of trees we had on our property, but helped us to understand how natural drainage would work on our particular plot and also gave a really good explanation for why we would want to leave some areas natural. We got a great "bucket list" quote showing the costs if we were to do everything we wanted (so it gave us a really good idea of the price tag on our total vision), and then he worked with us to help us identify the most important items to do first. We plan to chip away (ha!) at our list of things we want to do, a bit at a time. What I really like is that we are establishing a long-term relationship with our land, and our arborist. We are the ultimate beneficiaries of managing our land and trees well, and Brandon will help us do that in a sustainable and ecologically friendly way. Not to mention working with us a bit at a time, as we can afford to have him out to work. As far as the work went, our crew was incredibly professional and knowledgeable. Their experience level was obvious. Brandon came out several times that day to make sure everything was going according to plan. Our two main trees (which are huge) closest to our home were the priority concern, as prior owners had not done a whole lot. They took their time, and got them both just right. With the job they did, we won't need another thing done to those particular trees for 3-5 years. The day went well, they were careful, everything was done safely, and the clean-up was perfect. I truly appreciate the ability to build a relationship with a top notch, certified arborist, who is passionate about what he does, and will help us to maintain one of our most important assets, our trees.
