I usually would go to my friend which is a mechanic, but I was crunched on time and had to get it done at the nearest location I could find at the time, which happened to be Midas. Up until yesterday before bringing my car into Midas ONLY for the safety test it was running smooth and I was aware of a weak battery which I planned to have it replaced with my buddy the mechanic. As I was waiting Midas for my car they told me that I had to change the battery and go on about the alternator. I told I'm here for a safety test and was not looking to do anything else. They keep pushing a sales on me and I kept telling them no. There was a lady that came in before me looking to get an oil change and they kept pushing her to get synthetic oil, which cost twice as much and unnecessary. She just wanted to get the regular oil change. I felt bad and kind of wanted to say something, but didn't want to make a scene. So I get my car back after refusing on several occasions to their displeasure. The moment I drove out on the way to my buddy the mechanics shop, about 10-15 mins my car starts acting erratic. All the warning lights comes on at once. My car starts shaking while it's going into gear. Eventually I would not even go pass 10km/h, this was all happening during rush hour on a busy street, it was pretty scary. I had pull my car into a parking lot and then it just completely died. I can't start it. I called Midas back and they pretty much were like " well I told you so and don't blame it on us" kind of attitude. I told them that I've been driving this car for some time and the moment I bring it to your location my car died. It just seem very suspicious since they were so aggressive about me fixing things with them. My car is currently at my friends shop and I'm not sure exactly how much it's going to cost me to fix it now. I had to pay to get it tolled. My car is a 2012 mdx, with only 113000km on it. Relative low km. Been driving smooth and no issue other then regular wear and tear, minor things. I'm just sharing my honest experiences about these guys. I basically do not trust them and I'd never go to another Midas again! It seems like they have this very aggressive, untrustworthy sales approach there, beware if you choose to go to this location, it becomes very costly! Ps I'd give them zero stars, but that's not an option so I have to bite my tongue and give them one fake star.

    Recently had a great experience with Karl from Rim & Tire Pro…read more I had 2 sets of 4 rims off snow tires from two old vehicles i recently sold. Had called around to a 12 different used tire places looking to trade them in for rims that would fit my new vehicle for my new snow tires. Some said they had to see the rims first, others weren't interested cause they said there was no interest in the sizes i had, and most didn't offer a trade in option. Karl was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Provided new and used rim options, took every one of my half dozen phone calls (and the one i called after hours and didnt leave a message, HE even called me back), answered my millions of questions, and in the end took all 8 of my old rims and gave me a trade in credit for them. When i confirmed i was coming from Oakville to trade in my old rims, buy the new ones and have him install and balance the winter tires, but might be too close to his closing time, he said no problem. When i arrived, he took me right away. Told me on the phone it would be 1hr to 1.5hrs to complete and he had it done in 45mins. I felt like i got the run around from all the other places i called, or they make me feel like i was too much trouble to deal with. But Karl was helpful and got the job done without any attitude or head ache. I would use them again, and would definitely recommend to anyone in need of auto expertise!! :)

    I only managed to book an appointment at Rim & Tire Pro after 4 hours of either being put on hold…read moreor being promised a call back. After finally getting through, I was given an appointment of 10am on a Saturday. The waiting room was absolutely frigid and quite uncomfortable, which wouldn't have been so terrible if I hadn't had to wait 2 hours past the scheduled appointment time before they finally began installing the new tires. It was at this point when the gentleman handling the transaction flatly refused to honour the terms and conditions set out on a couple of coupons we had purchased to use towards a new set of tires. Frustrated and tired of waiting, and now unable to purchase the tires with the assistance of our paid-for coupons, I had them replace my old tires and left. My suggestion to this business is not to put out paid-for coupons on deal sites which your employees will then turn around and refuse to accept. They've lost my business permanently. Edit: I've just noticed that a full year after my review, the owners have responded to this. Nowhere in the terms and conditions did it stipulate one coupon per customer, and the limit of coupons available to purchase per person/per transaction was two. That would lead any rational person to believe that they could buy -AND- use two. They changed the wording on the group coupon sales site and on the coupon itself AFTER my visit to stipulate the one per transaction rule. Sorry, but your business failed to make any restrictions known, and wasted a whole day of my time. I don't feel too upset that you also wasted your own labour, nor am I completely blown away by your ever so gracious gesture of taking your tires back off of my vehicle. You were slow to respond when I attempted to give you my business, and waited an entire year to respond to my complaint. Not impressed.
