The AI tool on the website is just horrible. Whenever I get my cars serviced here, I always wait in the lobby. This service center was already notorious for how slow they are. Its always two, two and a half hours for an oil change. But, they have a nice waiting area! So I just watch something on my phone. Today I tried to schedule service since the maintenance minder popped up on my infotainment screen. Apparently the AI tool has decided that I can't schedule a service appointment because I'm not allowed to wait (see the screenshot I posted). Not sure why. First, why even present the option to wait, just to come back and tell me it isn't available? The system should only present valid options to begin with. Why show something that will just subsequently generate an error? I hate all these companies cramming just awful AI tools into everything! I'm so over everyone buying into the AI hype when it almost always does a worse job than the tool it's replacing. HATE IT. I live in Saint Cloud and there are plenty of places closer to get an oil change than driving an hour and 15 minutes down to the cities each way. Loyalty only goes so far. If you're going to make it this difficult to spend money with you, I'll just go to the Luther Honda dealer in town here instead. read more

I bought a car off their used lot. The engine was caput a few weeks after buying it. They said the timing belt was done recently, but it snapped as I was speeding up to get on the highway. They argued for months and finally put another engine in it, it sounded like marbles rolling around in a tin can and it's top speed was 32mph. I took it to a Subaru dealership who pointed out the engine was not even bolted to the transmission. All fasteners were barely started with gaps big enough to stick a whole finger in. The Honda tech also took many wires out of various connectors and messed them up for what seems like no reason. They refused to let me speak to the service center manager at all. I was without a car for a year as it sat on their lot. I ended up moving out of state and they agreed to ship it to me after finally finding an engine. It was delivered to me and cylinder 4 has a serious air leak. Top speed 35mph. I work from home so I don't need to drive it and on weekends me and my wife used her car. It's sat in my driveway now for 4 years. I just finished paying off $16000 and it's worth scrap now. What really disturbs me, is that when a tech connects a proper scan tool, the mileage is vastly different from the engine module, the transmission module and the body module. This means they messed with the miles to make it more sellable. Maybe I need an attorney at this point. I can only surmise that the repair techs are evil and relish in doing evil for anything not from Honda, or they had good mechanical skills and wisdom chase after them all their lives, but they were just too fast. Hands down the worst dealership repair shop I have ever dealt with. The only good thing about them now is that they are very far from me. There are other Honda dealerships in the twin cities. I STRONGLY suggest you go to one of them instead. read more

I came into Bloomington Honda genuinely open to trading in my vehicle for something newer. At first, it was all smiles and handshakes. The usual "we're here to help you" performance. But the second they realized I wasn't going to roll over and say yes to the first offer, the entire vibe shifted. Once I mentioned I was still comparing options and gathering information before making a decision, the salesperson's demeanor turned cold. Suddenly I was no longer worth the effort. I asked to see other vehicles and was met with resistance, like asking to see more than one option was some kind of personal attack. So I asked to speak with a manager, thinking maybe someone with actual authority would handle things better. Absolutely not. This man stared me down like he was trying to win some imaginary staring contest. A cold, hard, unblinking death glare the entire time I spoke. It didn't feel like a conversation it felt like a deliberate power move. Like he was trying to assert dominance by giving off some weird alpha energy. Every sentence I started was interrupted with short, clipped responses like "yup," "ok," and "sure," delivered with the enthusiasm of a DMV clerk at closing time. It was clear from the start he had no interest in listening. He just wanted to remind me I was wasting his time. Then came the insult disguised as customer service. He brought up my military affiliation and said something along the lines of "we already gave you a better Kelley Blue Book offer and even gave you the military discount," as if that justified the condescending treatment. Like I was supposed to feel lucky for being spoken down to because they tossed me discounts they probably offer to everyone with a pulse. This wasn't just bad service. It was calculated. The fake kindness, the pressure, the stare down from the manager it all felt like a performance designed to make me feel small, uncomfortable, and rushed into a sale. Like some used car version of psychological warfare. Bottom line? If you value being treated with respect and want more than a glorified sales ambush, stay far away from Bloomington Honda. They are friendly only when they smell money. The moment you hesitate, they flip the switch. And if you speak up, be ready for the laser stare of doom and a guilt trip disguised as a discount. read more

Beware! If you take a vehicle here they will perform a general inspection and find thousands of dollars worth of work needing to be done. Each time I've brought my vehicle in the team has informed that I have a repair that is needed ASAP. Of course, I decline and take my car over to Leighton's garage where they diagnose a completely different issue at a fraction of the cost. This has happened at least 3 times in the last 5 years. I only go here for oil changes. I also needed to have my transmission replaced on my 2017 Honda accord 6 months after they recommended that I replace my transmission fluid. Funny how that worked out. This is a convenient place to service my car, but I am so tired of the constant upsales. As someone who needs to trust the mechanic, I rely heavily on honesty. It is impossible to trust them anymore. An appointment just months after another spawned many more things that "needed attention". Now they want the customer to pay a fee for the credit card. I can't imagine they prefer checks that can so easily be uncollectible and untraceable - but they do. This fact isn't listed in the appointment reminders; once at the shop, you don't learn it until the end of the appointment. Way too late. They actually told me they would pay for an Uber to take me home and get my checkbook! I suggested they waive the $10 fee rather than the Uber fare, which would have been much higher. I want to give a shout out especially to Jerry Anderson. He was was our sales person. What we love about the guy? Well, it's a given that he is knowledgeable. That much we expected from any sales person. But Jerry is just a very personable guy. He's a good listener and asks good questions so we could focus on what we really wanted in our new car, our needs, uses, fun stuff. We chatted about everything from the car's many features to our favorite food growing up. We laughed. My wife I thought, this is someone we'd like to know outside of the business. I also want to mention Johnny Inthason in service. I purchased a trailer hitch for my new 2025 CRV and it was not ever discussed or written in the paperwork with me that this was a 1.25" hitch and not the standard 2" hitch. Upon getting my car serviced for the hitch, I saw, after installation, that the 1.25" hitch was put on and I immediately escalated this while I was still at the service center. Honda has been very difficult to work with for a resolution as they refuse to put in a 2" hitch on my vehicle. My 2" kuat bike rack does not fit the installed hitch, and using an adapter is not recommended by the kuat manufacturer. I am still trying to work with the dealership on a proper resolution but the final outcome remains uncertain as it seems they won't correct the root issue of having the wrong sized hitch installed. I have lest messages for the sales manager John and the service manager Brandon and NEITHER have called me back. HORRIBLE customer service and extremely disrespectful. If I knew this before, I would have NEVER bought from here. read more

I'm not sure what has changed at this location but the service department is awful! I've called and have left multiple voicemails on multiple occasions and no one ever calls me back. I scheduled a service appointment a couple of months ago which was 2 weeks out. When I arrived and before even looking at my car they said they would need my car for 7-10 days. What was the point of scheduling an appointment 2 weeks in advance? I left my vehicle and they said they would call me back within the next day. I did not hear from them for 2 days so I went and picked up my vehicle and had the $1,300 worth of work done someplace else. Ridiculous! This place used to be great. My cars engine was making a weird knocking sound. Keep in mind I have 25k miles on it. I brought it in to get the noise checked and the mechanic said all I needed was an oil change. I had my doubts about her idea, but since she was the professional I trusted her. A week later my engine blew up on the highway. Honda said it was $10,500 to fix. My husband went into the dealership today. They denied that they got the floor mats dirty but they did offer to clean them - for a charge. They also refused to clear the VSA code without charging for that, I thought that when you had the 'error' repaired they would clear the code, to prove to themselves that they fixed it. A friendly reminder to never get service here! I came in for a transmission issue while my car is still under the powertrain warranty. Because the issue "does not require oil to lubricate it" a.k.a. it's a software issue, they want to charge me $400 to do a software update. Yes, $400! My Tesla sends software updates over wi-if for free, all the time BTW. In addition, I paid $150 for the diagnostic. But that's not it.... I also had to pay $30 for 'shop supplies.' According to the person who took my credit card, shop supplies are "gloves and paper towels that the tech uses in order to perform his job." If I'm paying out the nose for something that costs less down the street, I expect them to build the cost of paper towels into the price. They also suggested another $2K in repairs, some of which I know for a fact were not needed because they were recently done by our trusted mechanic. This is getting long, but I also want to note how shady it is that the photos in the recommended repair section of the paperwork are all stock photos (as noted in the tiniest print ever on the bottom of the photos), as they lead you to believe your air filter is so dirty dandelions are sprouting out of it! I will never come back for service here because I don't appreciate dishonesty OR being needlessly raked over the coals for every nickel in my wallet. It feels like they tried to pull one over on me because I'm a woman in a minivan. I'm literally less than 6 months from buying a new minivan, and thought I'd get another Odyssey. I will never be going back. Made an appointment for my car to be serviced. Took 30 mins to just have someone meet me at my car and check me in. Once they checked me in, they told me my car would not be looked at today. I asked why not as I had an appointment at 11 am to get my car serviced. They then told me, the 11 am appointment was just to check me in and take the car. It was not to have my car fixed. They might be able to look at my car the next day. They did finally offer me a rental car that I could take. The whole process of me driving in to service and getting my rental car took an hour. This process should have taken 15 mins max. I'm still mind blown by this. Even looking at the text I received when I scheduled the appointment it stated my car was to be serviced at 11am. If I did ever go back, I wouldn't know if I'm scheduling an appointment for my car to be serviced or to just check in to have my car serviced another day. read more

Wasted a week trying to get my car serviced here. Made appointment on a Monday. Showed up early for appointment only to be told that they didn't have a loaner for me that I requested at time of appointment and they were not going to look at my car for another 4 days because they were already behind on their schedule. Although they texted several reminders for my appointment, they never communicated in any way that the appointment was delayed or that they could not provide a loaner. When I told admitting person the part that needed replacing, they kept adding a different part that sounded similar but was not the part I needed to replace, because she couldn't find it on her screen. Ended up going to my local Precision Tune and they were able to swap out the part in less than 30 minutes. Will go back to Precsion Tune. Won't go back to this dealership. read more

I have never had my car serviced here but I came in for a car detail as they were only one of the only places in the area that would remove my car seat in order to shampoo my carpet. Where I am from, this wouldn't be a strange request, but around here most car detail places are too lazy to remove seats these days. And yes, it was necessary to remove the seats because I spilt a smoothie straight under my seat. UGH! It gave my car a great smell for a while but it was only a matter of time before that turned into mildew/mold. I was very pleased with the price and service that I received. In addition, Richfield-Blooming Honda managed to detail my car without trying to sell me on buying a new car. I was also shocked to see that they have an insurance agency office onsite. Not sure why this was such a shock but it was just a sight I had never seen. I guess in hindsight, it doesn't sound too weird, right? 2nd largest Honda dealership in the nation - how do I know this? So I increased my review by a star because the person helping with my oil change called Continental and tried to get them to warranty out my tires. Continental would not and when asked if they would give some credit as an act of good will they would also not. Well my question is why did Honda not do something on good will? When you but a $30,000 vehicle new you might expect the ties to last a while? 55K on tires that came with a warranty to 80K and neither Honda nor Continental will cover anything? Seems to be a big consumer ripoff known about by all. My Oil change took 2 hours and that was with it being pre scheduled. It was just under $40 for a basic standard oil change. I was also told that I should do $300 more in fluid changes just because and I was handed a paper with a quote to have some small paint dings fixed by their partner shop. I get the up sell idea but when you come in with a schedule and a 4 year old maybe they could care?? I would by a new car from them again but get it serviced somewhere else. read more

I would strongly advise anyone considering this dealership to look elsewhere. I was a Honda guy and my experiences at this dealership have cured any desire to buy any Honda product ever again. I purchased a new vehicle from this dealership and bought the 150k warranty that apparently doesn't cover anything, as they deem any problem as 'cosmetic'. I can assure you the finance guy that sold me the vehicle warranty specifically mentioned every component of the car as 'bumper cap to bumper cap coverage'. I also bought a key warranty, yeah that is a thing because a new key is over $800 cut and programmed. The battery to my key died at one year old and 20,000 miles but that was not covered by any warranty. They did offer to replace the key but I would still have to buy a new battery because that is considered a consumable item like gasoline. I had the vehicle in for an oil change and the technician must have driven wrong on the hoist because a rim got scratched. I noticed this prior starting the vehicle and showed the manager. Despite the scratches being really fresh Brandon, the Manager, said he would look at the cameras to check but he was sure his technicians would not do this. I called back the next day and he assured me that they did not damage the rim. I was in the service department a different time for an overnight warranty repair and an oil change. Being as old school as I am I checked the oil and it was very dirty and clearly not changed despite my paperwork claiming it had been changed. Being petty while waiting for the manager to inspect the oil with me I wrote on the oil filter. They immediately changed the oil and washed it (forgot to wash the vehicle with the service) and quickly brought the vehicle out to me. I checked the oil filter and found my scribble marks on the filter. I pointed this out to the manager and I was met with resistance but he reluctantly agreed to replace the oil and filter. I feel bad for any customer that is not physically able to mark their filters or check their oil like I did. read more

I never am the person to make a review, but I knew I had to for this place because of the crazy experience that I had. Josie, my service coordinator, was super sweet and understanding, but the overall service was terrible. My sales coordinator, Reggie, was also nice, but again, the over service was again not great. My car got towed to this facility and I did not get a diagnosis on the vehicle till 4 days after it was there. I called every day multiple times and only received updates once a day which gave me little to no information. My step dad had to step in to help and his numerous calls a day were never returned once. I ended up needing a new vehicle due to my engine blowing out, and since I did not find a vehicle that was in my price range at this place, I went somewhere else to look at a vehicle and when this was found out my calls were LITERALLY hung up on. The only way I could genuinely communicate with this place was if I went in person which does not work best for everyone, and especially me who is in college and had classes to go to and an internship. It is not the people's fault who I worked with, I just think the general management might be bad, and unfortunately overall, I felt like I was only there to give money and to not be as helped out. read more

Honda Pilot has had problem with shutting off upon stopping at light/stop sign. Left the car at RB Honda for 1 1/2 days a month ago and they could not identify cause. Told me to bring it back as soon as happens again so they can read the memory. The problem repeated again today and so took it back. Was told they were super busy and would take all day to look at. When I asked for a rental/loaner they told me they did not have one; was nothing they could do for me. How is this service? read more

Their service department stinks. They charge a huge "diagnostic" fee but can't fix their way out of a wet paper bag. I brought my wife's suv in twice due to it shaking when you press on the breaks. The first time they said it was the tires (changed them and it still did it) and the second time the parking break light was on saying it needed service but that wasn't the issue. We brought it to them because we got the insurance that they offered when we bought the car. Overall I had a good experience taking my vehicle in for service. It it is the dealership so general costs will be more expensive and they will try to up sell you on certain services. However, if you have a Honda specific issue then it's fine for that singular purpose. I spent $6,500 on a used vehicle 3.5 months ago that they inspected and said was in good condition and that they fixed everything that needed to be fixed. Yesterday (and after only driving 2,000 miles). I went to Midas and had to spend $1,107 on all new tires since all the tires were worn, as well as new tire rods because they were falling off the car. ARE YOU SERIOUS? Here's the receipts from me buying the car to me taking it in to prove it. The second image shows date and mileage of when I bought it (purchase receipt) the first shows date and mileage of when I had to replace all four tires and tire axels. Mileage is circled for both. So basically they sold me a used car at market price that had bald tires and whose tire axels were falling off. read more

I have been a loyal customer of Richfield-Bloomington Honda for many years, having purchased various Hondas from them. I purchased a new Honda CR-V from them 3 years ago. After 21,000 miles I recently learned that I needed new tires and I had a transmission oil leak. I had expected better quality and dependability from Honda. I scheduled the oil leak repair for 6:30am two days ago, so that they would have plenty of time to work on it. I was told by the service advisor that the service technician was going to start work on it right away. That was not true. They didn't start working on it until after 2pm. It wouldn't be complete that day because it's a major repair. I asked for updates on the repair so I could adjust my schedule as necessary. I was not given updates by the service advisor. The next day I never heard from the service advisor. I called RB Honda to ask for status on my car's repair and I was just put into the voice mail of the service advisor. I left three messages during the day, but they were never returned. I finally called the dealership and said that the service advisor was not returning my calls and I wanted to wait on hold until someone would tell me the status of my car repair. Finally, Brandon told me it would be done about 5pm, which was too late for me to be able to pick it up that day. Someone called at 3:30pm to say that they had finished the repair. Without advance notice of when it was going to be done, I was unable to get a ride to pick up my car at the last minute. I had to wait another day to get my car back. When I choose a car, I want reliabllity and quality. When I choose a dealership, I want honesty and responsiveness. read more
