T&T Automotive has become our go-to auto shop, after switching over a couple of years ago. I'm not a big car guy, but know enough to be dangerous and make my own repairs after copious amounts of YouTube watching. They always do a good job of explaining things to me, without making me feel like an idiot, and don't try to trick me into unnecessary services. The latest example was when my car wouldn't start in the driveway. I had T&T tow it to their garage and perform a 1.5 days testing it out. They ran several tests and plugged in the computer scanner, without finding any issues. The service tech, George I believe, insisted on keeping it overnight to see if trying to start the car in the morning made a difference. There wasn't anything he could determine and the car started just fine for him (of course) and has been running smoothly for me the past couple of days. He also advised me to hold off on some non-critical repairs I had scheduled for a couple of weeks, to see if this non-starting issue came back. I really appreciate that, because if the starting issue comes back and is serious, I would be disappointed if I had paid for a couple of control arms to be replaced... That's what I appreciate about T&T, they're super honest and have given me good repairs that don't break the bank (no unnecessary fluff). I'm not a car person. When my car started having a strange issue, I brought it here. The service was excellent and both guys I talked to were courteous and kind. They were able to look at my vehicle and called promptly when finished to give a super informative, honest and thorough explanation of what caused the issue. Got a tow thru AAA, driver was an hour and a half late from the 90 min window AAA gives them. Driver came and was every rude and didn't do anything but smack his lips at the car and say he can't do it and has better things to do / other people need help too. Didn't try to explain why he couldn't tow it, didn't try to help or get us a flatbed. Basically told us to f*ck off and was VERY rude to my grandfather. Called and left a voicemail to there office yesterday and still no response. read more

Every time that I have left my vehicle at their shop, I am confident that they will only charge me for the parts that I need and they don't scam people to get more money. I called ahead too see if they could fit me in without an appointment and they didn't charge me to simply look and listen for what my issue was. Not pressure to fix anything on the spot. Been a Richfield resident for 11 years and have done most of not all of my vehicle's maintenance work here and I drive an 05 Mazda so needless to say it's been a fair amount. Jordan has been there as long as I can remember and has ALWAYS been great to work with. Always explains everything in great detail and gives me an honest opinion if there's truly an issue that needs fixing immediately or if it can wait. Very fair pricing and I've never felt like he's cheated me. I can't express how much of a great experience I had with T&T Automotive!! My driver, Tony, was quick: to respond via phone, to arrive, and to hook my vehicle up to the tow truck. Also, he was really nice and courteous. I needed a tow on Saturday night (12/21/2013); four days from Christmas. The following Monday (12/23/2013) I received a call from Jordan, the (manager?/owner?), who said they were going to waive the remainder of my bill, and only accept the $30 I paid in cash up front. Jordan explained that Tony requested to help me out if there was a way; since I expressed that money was kind of tight at the time. There has never been a tow company, or driver, that has done that for me. If you need a tow in the Minneapolis area; call these guys. Beyond happy with my experience at T & T Automotive. I spent 2 hours and $180 to have the Honda dealership look at my car. They did nothing to it, just looked at it. I brought my car over to T&T and Jordan test drove it, once without me and once with me. Also he did a safety check and told me nothing was wrong with it but told me why my car was acting up a bit. He also, recommended I get a tire rotation in a couple months but I never felt pressured to do anything! After a scary/long morning I am so happy I ended up at T&T and now will be going back whenever my car needs anything. BEST SERVICE! read more

Very disappointing. Higher than average rates and inept tow truck operators. The delay was staggering. I called at 11:30am and was initially told 2 hours. With no call back, the time came and went. I called again and was told an additional hour. With no call back, the time came and went. I called again and was told it was too hard to tell how long it would be. It has been over 4 hours by then. I called again and was told it would be at least 2 more hours. At this point I gave up. read more

Many years ago my car wouldn't start. I called them and they came quickly, towed me in and went to work on it. They could find nothing wrong. It had been pouring rain and that may have caused it. I was charged nothing and my car didn't act up again. I have not forgotten that honesty. They are a neighborhood business and I can't say enough good about them. read more

Belt slipped off. They repaired it but did not look to see why it did. The tensioner had become weak but they did not do the work to see that it had. The belt came off a couple weeks later and so I went somewhere else, and the place told me that any auto shop should have realized the issue right away. Not T & T, apparently. read more

My daughters car broke down when we were out of state traveling. The drivers Pat was extremely helpful & pleasant. He tried a few tricks but the starter just wouldn't start. So he towed us 100 miles. He was very considerate & thoughtful. He automatically pulled into the rest area so we could use the restroom & stretch. We could not have asked for a better driver or towing company!!!! Probably the worst towing service in the Richfield area. Late to show and then 4 1/2 hours to deliver . Could'nt follow instructions on where to drop the vehicle and did not make a follow up call to notify me for arrival time. Avoid this shop if you have an alternative. Our van broke down in the parking lot at the airport and these guys quickly came to our rescue. Mind you, I know NOTHING about cars and I called before hand and they very nicely talked me through what to do for trying to jump the van and steps to take if the van still wouldn't start. We called for a tow and they came very quickly, like 15 min max. The towing dude tried several things to get our van started (determined it was probably the starter that was out and knocked the starter a few times...I don't really know what he was doing, but he tried to save us $$ on a tow). Once he got in the vehicle he saw that it got switched to second gear (we'd backed the car in the space so we must have bumped it while we were messing around with stuff....it would've been in reverse if we were truly idiots the whole time). Either way, that was embarrassing. But he got the van started saving us $$ on a tow and allowing us to procrastinate on the repair. Charged us $45 for the service which isn't so bad I think! All in all, I was impressed with how nice and quick the service guys were. read more

I had spent 2 hours just sitting at a different shop while they tried to figure out what was wrong with my car. After endless time in a crappy waiting area, there were no solid answers, just a recommendation to replace a pump that had already been replaced twice in 6 months. And they didn't even have a quote ready for me. I knew the pump was not the issue, so I called T & T. They didn't have any appointments until later in the day but asked me to drop the car off and they would look at it as soon as they could. Jordan was super friendly when I dropped my car off. He listened to what was going on and assured me he would find the cause of the problem. He also offered my a ride home (which the other place didn't do-even though they advertise that they will) Jordan called a little while later he had found the issue and fixing it did NOT involve replacing the power steering pump (shocker!) He had prepared a quote and was going to try to get the parts needed by 3 and hopefully have my car fixed by end of day. I had prepared to make my way to work the next day without my car because I wasn't expecting they could have it repaired that day (for those of you who don't know, it is hard to get parts delivered on time and end of day is always busiest) I was surprised and delighted to get a call at 5:30 that my car was ready to be picked up. When I went to get my car, he brought me back and showed me what parts had needed to be replaced and why-I truly appreciated this, I feel it elevated the level of customer service. I know, though, that his motive wasn't to increase perceived value- he did it because he genuinely wanted me to know that they hadn't replaced anything unnecessary. I don't think I have ever left a repair shop smiling, but I definitely did that day. I can't say enough good things about my experience with T & T. Jordan was nice, straight forward and best of all-honest. So glad to have learned how great these guys are! I will never take my vehicles anywhere else. read more

After a long day of traveling back to MN from the East Coast, I just wanted to get in my car and go home. Unfortunately, my driver's side front tire was completely flat. AAA conscripted T&T to help me at the Park and Fly. Squirrel was there within 20 minutes [I was told it would be a wait of anywhere from 45minutes to 1hour], drove me back up to my car, and gave me all of the available options for my tire- fill with air, replace, put on my spare etc. He was very helpful, kind, and efficient in his work.
