Attentive, professional, friendly, accomodating, I thought "What great customer service! I've got to tell others about Danny!" He had us try some of the cocktails he's working on and...YES PLEASE to these DELICIOUS DRINKSSSS! We tried several. EL BAR is the new kid on the block and if the service has anything to do with its future, THEY'RE HERE TO STAY! I definitely envy the Pigytown community here in B-More having this gem in their backyard. If you're only passing through, this should be one of the *MUST STOPS* places on your road trip map. Last night I ordered food to go for cinco de mayo because it was so busy. Well if you look at the picture attached, I hate saying this but these were the WORST tacos I've ever had in my life. I paid $25 for this basic chicken chopped with onions and cilantro. I was told from someone that the food was really good...well that wasn't the case. Maybe they were having a bad night, so I'd give them another try at some point but this was a huge disappointment. You'd expect a place called El Bar to have the best tacos for cinco de mayo but I would have been better off going to Taco Bell last night.

She works as the packaged good manager and has had a nasty attitude for years. People complain about her all the time but nothing changes, including the way she treats people. I guess the owners are afraid to talk to her about it because she is considered a minority. Tonight we waited for a call in pick up carry out order for an hour. You'd think she would be sweet and apologetic but no. We had two orders, a burger and wings. They gave us the wings for free but that didn't come with a remorseful apology, it came with narcissistic attitude from Andrea. I called and said I would be down to speak to her. I was sweet and ordered a power ball ticket. As she was waiting on my I said one thing, "you get more bees from honey than you do with vinegar." She immediately turned nasty and through my two dollars back on the counter and refused to give me the ticker. Then I got out my phone and recorded her saying, "I don't care if you call and talk to Jack or John." The point is, she doesn't care because she's a narcissist and people have complained about her but obviously, she's got something over Jack and John that makes them afraid of her too. It's sad because I used to go in there a lot but, now I avoid it like the plague. It's a shame because there are some really nice people who work at Monaghans's. Then there's Andrea. Shes just so miserable about herself that she takes it out on everyone else. Sad. Just sad.

29th street tavern is a classic dive bar. i came here around 9 pm on a friday and it was completely…read morepacked. after about 10 mins, a table freed up that my friends and i snatched (group of 5). the drinks are exactly what you would expect from a dive bar (good thing) and i was satisfied with my angry orchard. the food here is quite good. reasonably prices and everything tastes fresh. great spot for classic american food that won't break the bank. i got a blt with fries, which definitely satisifed the craving. their fries were great if a little undersalted. on busy nights service is a difficult thing to gauge, but for what it is it is definitely satisfactory. highly recommend if you like dive bars with good food.

There's no flash. There are no gimmicks. It's a local bar to go grab a drink and you're not in the mood for the trendy packed spots. It's very unassuming and great neutral space. Anyone can show up, any time. Everyone's welcomed. You can have a good convo w/o having to scream thru it. MASSIVE PLUS *smile*!!! From a musical perspective, all sorts of genres pump thru the system and the ability to make selections is much better than other bars, which is great. It's even better when your selections are getting other people to enjoy the music and their time there, as well. Always a crowd pleaser. Aside from a fully stocked bar, there's a great beer selection. I happen to LOVE ciders and there's always an excellent choice available. The bartenders are always welcoming and accommodating. People come to unwind and have a good time w/o any pretense. I really enjoy the Tavern for that reason.

I found out about The Back Yard from locals who lived in Pigtown when I went to Pickett Brewing. I don't live too far from Pigtown but it was nice to see some restaurants popping up near Hollins Market. We met the bartender, Hailey and the owner, Mike. I can see this is a local bar and restaurant since it sounded like everyone knew each other. We seated ourselves and ordered our food. My significant other had the 7 spicy chili and I had the kielbasa and pretzel. I didn't each lunch so I was pretty hungry. There was so much I wanted to try on the menu.
