Attentive, professional, friendly, accomodating, I thought "What great customer service! I've got to tell others about Danny!" He had us try some of the cocktails he's working on and...YES PLEASE to these DELICIOUS DRINKSSSS! We tried several. EL BAR is the new kid on the block and if the service has anything to do with its future, THEY'RE HERE TO STAY! I definitely envy the Pigytown community here in B-More having this gem in their backyard. If you're only passing through, this should be one of the *MUST STOPS* places on your road trip map. I promise. Neighbourhood space that can easily transcend from bar to restaurant to lounge to event space. I'm so feeling EL BAR. Yep, I'm still here. For those of you following my reviews, YOU KNOW, I have a lot of drafts waiting to be published BUT, the ONLY time I'm compelled to review immediately is when a spot rocks! EL BAR! They serve food too. Kitchen closes 9pm during the week so on my next trip I'll be here earlier to try their bar bites. See my pics for further opening hours. The space is shaped in the form of a capital letter "L", not to be confused with their name "EL" Bar. It's simply a sweet coincidence. Apparently they're gonna have space upstairs as well and late spring (April 2025) I'm already envisioning an epic summer time here! 100% recommend! The End.

Last night I ordered food to go for cinco de mayo because it was so busy. Well if you look at the picture attached, I hate saying this but these were the WORST tacos I've ever had in my life. I paid $25 for this basic chicken chopped with onions and cilantro. I was told from someone that the food was really good...well that wasn't the case. Maybe they were having a bad night, so I'd give them another try at some point but this was a huge disappointment. You'd expect a place called El Bar to have the best tacos for cinco de mayo but I would have been better off going to Taco Bell last night.

They were pretty tasty and I love the fresh cut fries. The portions were good. And my boyfriend loved that resurrection beer was on the menu. Would definitely return.

The bartenders were polite and cleaned our table quickly, considering the place was packed they were doing an amazing job. The Buffalo Garlic Parm sauce for the wings was clearly home made and without realizing it we were there on a Tuesday making the wings only 9 dollars, the blue cheese is very mild but worked well with the sauce. The shrimp po'boy was large enough to split and was comparable to a sandwich from New Orleans in quality. I was tempted by the club but the turkey isn't the style I like, otherwise I could easily see myself trying more of the menu because it's clear the cook was skilled. The rail ginger beer and rum was inexpensive and well made and their selection of beer while currently missing a few key dark beer items was not bad at all, they included some draft beer options as well outside of the standard light beers and National Bohemian. All in all I would see myself returning when I head to the area for Ottobar events to try more of their food menu, just remember to get there somewhat early before the kitchen closes at 10.

I found out about The Back Yard from locals who lived in Pigtown when I went to Pickett Brewing. I don't live too far from Pigtown but it was nice to see some restaurants popping up near Hollins Market. We met the bartender, Hailey and the owner, Mike. I can see this is a local bar and restaurant since it sounded like everyone knew each other. We seated ourselves and ordered our food. My significant other had the 7 spicy chili and I had the kielbasa and pretzel. I didn't each lunch so I was pretty hungry. There was so much I wanted to try on the menu. My friends really enjoyed the place and food. We will be back.

The food and vibes are just really chill. By the looks of the bar, you would just think they would serve your regular of the mill pub food. Um, no. This place has the best charcuterie, tinned fish( for my tinned fish lovers). Best beer and wine list by far. Not to mention they have plenty of game boards and this bar is doggie friendly, so you are bound to see all kinds of cute fur babies. During the summer months the alley way patio is dope as well. They also have awesome weekly specials. The menu is pretty extensive really nice sandwiches and delicious salads. Their soft pretzel with hot kielbasa is a fave here. It also comes with mini pickles and different types of stone ground mustard . Next time I will try that. This evening I just got a greens and grains bowl with pepper salmon, sooo delicious. They also put confit tomatoes in the salad. A nice touch. I will always come to the Backyard for food and good vibes, especially to unwind after work. So if you are in the Pigtown neighborhood, come to Backyard. You will not be disappointed
