I had a serious leak from a broken cartridge in my shower and I called Richmond Plumbing & Heating and Tyler and Joe showed up and did the best job on my shower. Tyler changed out my defective part and stopped my leak. in addition, Tyler suspected that there was more to my leak as water was coming from over my kitchen cabinets. He found a significant hidden issue from my shower base. I'm so happy that I listen to his suspicion of a leak coming from my grout and he checked my ceiling in the kitchen below my shower. There he discovered a serious leak that I was unaware of that caused significant damage to my floor under my bathroom tile. A few weeks ago the DEP contacted us and ordered that we update our water meter and make some improvements to the water main located in our basement. A complicated job because the parts to be accessed were located behind the sheetrock in the basement. After calling a few plumbers who knew nothing about how to do this, we called Richmond Plumbing (master plumbers) today, and Tyler and Justin came over and did the job today! They knew just what had to be done. They really did a great job. Tyler showed us everything they did and how we are to use the controls. They had fixed a few plumbing issues for me in the past and I was happy with their service even though their fee just for a visit is on the high end. Last time I called I arranged for a service call for the following week. That day came and went without so much as a call from them to let me know what to expect. My gas furnace crapped out on me. I called many places and each sent out a Salesman versus a technician. While all were free estimates, the estimates were mostly emailed to me the next day. Then I met Joseph Vento, one of the owners of Richmond Plumbing. At first I didn't know he was an owner, but I can tell he was no ordinary salesman, he was the owner and an honest business man. He knew his stuff and was a down to earth extremely honest and friendly guy. He gave me a price that blew everyone everyone else away. And I offered an additional $500 if he could do it within the next few days as he first said his schedule was tight. He made some phone calls and told me he did not want the extra money and he would be here the very next morning!!!! Wow!! His staff showed up early and by the end of the day the job was done!!! This was a big job (old water radiator system). They were polite, professional, and left the place spotless when done. I was lucky to put the bill on an empty charge card and called card company first and they gave me 12 months at 0% financing. Joseph Vento. Their service is horrible. I called them for a leak I had in my kitchen and I was told that the plumber will come out the next day between 1pm to 4pm. They never showed up at all. I called them at 4pm and asked them what happened to the plumber. They stated that they can send out a plumber now or I can reschedule. There was no call to say that the plumber was running late or he or she could not make it at the stated time. There was no consideration for me as a customer waiting for over 3 hours for a no show. read more

They came to my house to give me an estimate on fixing my leaky shower. Nice area, nice house, woman! First glance at my shower he told me that it's a nightmare to fix, he has no clue how to fix it, there might be not flexible hose connection, some kind of parts that I never heard of and again, he stressed out that it's a nightmare of a shower, that all the knobs must be removed in order to take off the panel. That they charge $299 an hour plus parts and to contact manufactory for instruction on how to fix it. It's just your regular panel shower. SO they don't actually give you an estimate, they just give you a paper stating their hourly rate so they can charge an arm and a leg for nothing! Honestly, there might be stupid women in USA, but I am not one of them. I know this panel is easily removed even though it's a bit heavy. So I removed it all by myself in about 3 min to uncover very simple internal setup where one hose just slipped off the fitting. I tightened it in 2 min and stuck it back onto the brackets. Entire repair process took 10 min. If I allowed them to scam me I would pay a lot of money for nothing! Not only any self respecting plumber should know that taking off the shower tower is a snap, but he would respect his potential customer and not try to scam by telling stupid lies. Absolutely horrible customer service over the phone. Tried to use my warranty on my water tank after getting off the phone with the company and confirming that the warranty can be used. The woman on the phone at Richmond had still insisted that she and the company cannot fulfill the warranty and claimed that the warranty is no good. Called them yesterday 5/9/17 to set up an appointment for installation of a Central Air system the receptionist told me the "boss" can meet me Wednesday 5/10 between 10-11am, great. Called them this morning at 9 to make we were still set for the appointment between 10-11 and the receptionist assured me we were still good. Waited there until 11:20 and no one showed up. No curtesy of a phone call to say we'll be late, or can no longer make it so I just left. If you can't trust them for something as simple as keeping an appointment which you re-confirmed an hour before how can you trust them to actually do work in your house? 11:53 now and still no phone call from them. I suppose I should assume they won't be showing up. Had to leave work and wait for them to be stood up. I would highly recommend staying away from this company. read more

Thank God I found this company! I had a bad job down in my basement ( bad pipe work) from unprofessional people that claimed they knew what they was doing, but they didn't and as a result made my basement issue worse and a-lot of money wasted for a botched job. After my terrible experience I did my research to find a legit company and I was blessed to have chuck as my plumber. What chuck and his team did for my situation was amazing. He took his time to evaluate the problem and found other issues that we didn't know about. He is very smart and explained everything to me in simpler terms for me to understand. With working with chuck you can clearly see he loves his job and makes sure the client is happy. They are extremely professional, arrive on time and never left a mess, and very efficient. They never rushed and managed to finish the job under three days. Never felt i was being taken advantage of with this company like i did the other. Called them for a plumbing emergency. No water in the house. I waited 5 days and still no water. They could care less. Told us they were waiting for permit. They could have gotten one by fax but every day another lie. Cancelled job and wouldn't you know DEP contacted us about a leak. Nothing tells me THEY didnt calle DEP on us. Very unprofessional and I would never recommend them to anyone!!! How would any of them like to be without WATER for 5 days plus!!! Horrible people. One star because you can't post without it but they deserve NO stars!!! It says San Francisco but this is Staten Island! I have no idea how that happened. read more

This company is terrible! They installed a new ac unit for my parents a year ago. They have had nothing but problems since. Horrible service. Richmond Plumbing came out to their place and insisted that nothing is wrong with their faulty unit. They REFUSED to come out and look at the problem, stating that there is nothing wrong with the unit. They are now reported to the BBB and it will not stop there. How dare they take advantage of seniors. My parents had to purchase a new unit from a different company and the unit works fine. Do NOT use this dishonest company! read more
