I took my kids here for the first time to pick us, my mom, and my grandma all ice cream. Pulled up and went thru the drive thru. Our order was simple when I pulled up I told the girl I am gonna need six and I was sorry for the long order. ORDER: two strawberry cheesecake ice cream, one oreo, one turtle, and two chocolate chip mint all concretes all mediums. While waiting on our ice creams this one girl had her back to us and my special needs son said ummm mommy I can see her butt!!!!! I looked over and she had grey shorts on with her entire butt hanging out of them!!!! It's an ice cream place they know kids are going to be coming there so why not dress appropriately when you are working especially in an establishment that primarily serves kids???? They bag our order up I go home upon unpacking our order I seen they only gave us 5 out of the six I ordered. You can't call them so I had to go back up there went thru drive thru they didn't give me the receipt when I pulled off but it was the same girl at the window. I told her that they left out one of the strawberry cheesecakes she said no I put it in there. I said no I told you I needed two strawberry cheesecake concrete two mint chocolate chip one turtle one Oreo she said well I must not have heard you and had an attitude about it. She said I will pull up your receipt. She pulled it up, printed it off and said see. I didn't even charge you for it. A gentleman came to the window and said we will make it now. Rich's has great ice cream but horrific time management and customer service. If you go through the drive through, you had better not be in a rush as it's going to be at least 20-30 minutes. The wait is even longer if you're inside as they "prioritize" drive-thru window. Staff is primarily high school aged, but the manager is older and ineffective as a whole. Strongly caution any group over 5 from ordering at once as it causes the staff to glitch. read more

My favorite thing to get in this small town. Childhood favorite. I live in LA now and i have yet to find ice cream / custard that's better than Rich's!!! Haven't been back in years and last week, my boyfriend and I visited his family in festus and stopped by the new location. I'm so impressed and happy for the owners and the fact that they upgraded and have a whole store with indoor seating now. Ordered vanilla with cookie dough and it still tastes just as great. The ice cream is smooth and prices are good! I remember back sometime in 2010-2012, I used to order something called the "Zack Attack" -- can't remember the exact toppings but it was my FAVORITE THING but the new workers had no clue what that was .... i know it was like cookie dough, maybe brownies and something else??? Best ice cream in Jeff co! I've been coming here since I was in high school but moved away so can't come as often. When I come back to visit, I always stop at Rich's! I always get vanilla ice cream with cookie dough. Their cookie dough is BOMB! Different than a lot of other ice cream shops I've been to. The customer service is always super good. Portions are good for the price! The pile a bunch of cookie dough on top, definitely get your money's worth. Highly recommend coming here! read more

Moving out of the city, one thing I was going to miss was the local custard stand, how could I enjoy summer without concretes and malts, it was unheard of! one day while driving around I stumbled upon Rich's frozen custard, and decided to see if their concretes lived up to my standards... The visit was a success, and I had found a replacement for my custard addiction! Rich's is a small stand with window and drive thru service, they offer concretes, shakes, malts, sundaes, and the prices are right up there with the rest of the custard stands I have visited. the parking lot is large, and even when there is a line, the drive thru and wait in line is usually minimal.. it's definitely nice having a delicious cold treat on a hot summer evening, and I'm sure glad that I discovered Rich's, it definitely takes care of that addiction... read more

We visited this restaurant this evening and as usual the food was very good. My favorite is the fresh chicken tenders and the smash burgers. Of course the frozen custard is the smoothest around. We have been visiting Riches since he opened in the smaller location. We love to patronize the mom and pop shops. He has been in business for 22 years. We stopped off for custard while Traveling. It was quick and busy. That was a good sign to us. Crowds who are moving in and out always mean the place knows what they are doing. We got a hot fudge sundae and a brownie blast. The hot fudge sauce was plentiful and the mini scoop we had it on was rather Hefty in size. The large brownie blast was made with chocolate ice cream and brownie bites. It was rich and chewy. The price was about average for this type of ice cream. The cups were from sams/Costco type coffee cups and not personalized and that kind of cheapened it a bit for me. Presentation is important. I'd try it again. read more

Placed a decent size order went to pick it up had to ask for my shake and drinks. Got my food home one order was messed up and one order wasn't even in the bag. I called to let them know what happened and I would come get the stuff I needed and was told I didn't order those items and that if I wanted them I could come in and pay for it. They didn't even give me my receipt so I don't even know what they even rang up. Not my fault they rang the order wrong. I run a sandwich shop for my sister and if a customer calls and I forgot something I give them what they asked for because it was my fault not the customers! You take care of your customers. I love Rich's and visit almost once a week in the summer! The custard is delicious, you can get chocolate or vanilla as a base and then whatever kind of goodies you like mixed in. My favorite is chocolate custard with heath bar, but the turtle is good, too. My ONLY complaint is that the pecans are not toasted, which makes their version of the turtle sundae/concrete not as good as other custard places. They also recently started offering coffee and make a pretty good latte. Service is always fast and friendly; even when there is a long line you usually do not have to wait long. read more

I used to go to Rich's all the time at the old location by PaPa Johns. Since they've been out of business for what feels like 10 years, I went ahead and tried the new business D's, and was very impressed. When Rich's reopened- I still gave this small business a chance. I thought this was going to be the same business it was before, but at the new bigger location by Gordan's.... clearly I was mistaken. It's nothing compared to the new place by PaPa Johns. The employees were rude, they didn't have food like they've been promising, and the prices were sky high compared to other high name custard shops. The first time I went there the bottom hamburger bun was a soggy mess and it all fell apart. Today, months later, I decided to give it another try. The chicken club sandwich was good, but......but the service was dreadful! I pulled up to the drive through speakers and after a wait had to ask if anyone was there. I was then able to give my order---a sandwich only--pulled up, paid and pulled forward to the pick up spot to wait for the order to be brought out to me. I waited and waited and waited. I was able to see a worker just sitting chatting with someone....another worker likely. No customers were inside. I waited some more minutes. I honked. Then in my review mirror I noticed the man in the vehicles behind me eating his sandwich. I realized he had gotten his order, was eating it and I was blocking him in line. I Pulled up to let the guy behind me get thru and waited more. Then honked harder. A worker came out to say they were working on my sandwich. 3 more customers behind me got their orders and left. I honked again. The worker came out and had a lame excuse about having had a run on chicken so mine was taken directly from the freezer. It would be just a bit longer. About 2 minutes later my sandwich (only) was finally brought out. I didn't time this from the beginning but I'd say this take-out order of a fast food sandwich took 10-12 minutes. And BTW no napkins were put in the bag. I won't give them a 3rd chance. read more
