    Owner Cindy the owner.

One of the highlights of my visit back to St. Louis. Located in Kimmswick, MO, right in the middle of the city. The owner came out to greet us as we were with one of the original customers when Cindy started this establishment. The prices catch your eye, as most sandwiches are under $10. You get to choose your bread, but the standard option is a pretzel bun. The food was so good, as was the service. This business is situated in a former home, which adds to its cool factor. They do take reservations, and with Kimmswick's famous Apple Butter Festival approaching, you will need to plan.

Strawberry Salad (I ate about 1/2 before I remember to take a pic!)

We were in Kimmswick for Strawberry Festival. The town was sooo busy and I couldn't find anything healthy to eat from the vendors. Dough Depot saved the day with their Strawberry Salad on their menu. Reasonably priced. Strawberries, pecans and their in house dressing served over romaine. Usually also comes with cheese, however, I held to make the salad vegan. They were handling the crowd pretty well. Salad hit the spot. I've gotten the wine chillers before. Excellent!

Great little place. I have been to Kimmswick several times but never really knew this café existed. I thought it was just a storefront. Their prices are outstanding. They offer a two for $8.99 combo. I picked the half market Street special sandwich and half southwest chicken salad. The salad was a great size. Really delicious. The sandwich was on the smaller side but enough. It was served on a soft pretzel bun. Our server was outstanding. And it's always a plus when you can go shopping in the store after you eat. We always find little hidden gems here. We will definitely be back. The location is wonderful and has lots of wonderful shopping stores nearby. They also take reservations. The waitress said that she highly recommends it. We were lucky enough to get right in.

The prices are VERY reasonable! The selection is amazing. Always fresh. Service is consistently good. Make reservations or prepare to wait or shop in the nearby Kimmswick shops. Ambiance is quaint country. During the holiday season, various items, such as personalized ornaments, are for sale. The costume jewelry is very nice, and reasonable.

I was passing through and had to see what the hype was about. This place was oozing with Christmas charm everywhere. It was beautifully decked out in the store and restaurant area. This is a very warm and cozy place for lunch. The staff was very nice. The pretzel roll is worth the hype, soft it yummy. While I didnt love the roast beef, the chili was the star of the lunch. I would come back for the roll, chili and atmosphere.

    Great Christmas decor!

Loved everything about this cute shop with handmade ornaments and a fabulous lunch!!! Every person in this establishment was delightful and accommodating! We had the roast beef sandwiches and chili - WOW!!! Both were great and service was spectacular as well!!! Make sure you stop in!

You can see my friends chili on the right upper corner.

I visited on a beautiful weekend. We chose to sit outside in the sunshine. We ordered from the side window, and held our seat, or it would have been gone! I love that all of the sandwiches were served on a soft pretzel bun. Both of us chose the "you pick two" option. I got the sandwich and salad, and my friend got the chili and salad. My sandwich was outstanding, as was the chopped salad. My friend loved her chili and salad too. She is sensitive to dairy, so it was good that they put the cheese for the chili on the side. It was great to enjoy the fresh air, sunshine, and great food. The staff brings the food right to your table. It took a while after ordering, but it seemed everyone was out and enjoying the weather. It was a great afternoon!

    All of this for $10!!

After a long day of shopping locally this place just HITS for the ultimate comfort food!!! I love how cute it's decorated in this place! Especially around Christmas time. I got the soup and salad lunch combo. I updated my soup to a bowl for an extra $2. I couldn't believe the amount of food I got for $10!!!!! It's insane!!!! I was so full afterwards and even gave some to my husband! Service was great and I loved that they had little hand made items you can buy in the front! Can't wait to go back!!

Mmmmmm. Real processed cheese product, straight from the jar. BBQ freshly thawed from the freezer.

I'm so sorry. Service was fine, no complaints there. But food was ATROCIOUS. VILE. INEDIBLE. Canned, CANNED!! mushrooms and PROCESSED "CHEESE" product on my "pizza," PROCESSED "CHEESE" on my husband's obviously-from-a-can BBQ nachos. And I really doubt their pretzels weren't pulled from a freezer and microwaved. The worst part, their website LIED, word for word: "Dough Depot works closely with local farmers and suppliers to source the finest seasonal fruits and vegetables, ensuring that each ingredient is bursting with flavor and nutritional value...From locally grown produce bursting with flavor to premium meats and artisanal cheeses, every ingredient is chosen with care." Y'all! Fresh ingredients are far cheaper! Why wouldn't the owners of the Dough Depot go that route instead?! It takes basic knowledge and effort to utilize fresh ingredients, but, clearly, this is something their kitchen either can't or won't go the extra mile to do. Don't just skip the Dough Depot, avoid it like the plague!

I stopped in for a quick bite for lunch and man it was pretty busy for being a Tuesday morning. It is located in a small town so there may not be many other brunch spots. I had the marketplace sandwich and the oriental salad and both were very fresh and flavorful. The salad dressing is made in the house and the salad itself was nice and refreshing. Definitely worth a visit!

We stopped at the order window for some nitro lemonade. It was delicious! Super smooth and not tart at all. It was a perfect break from shopping and walking in the heat to sit under the shade and sip on that with a fan blowing on us! Looking forward to a time where we can pop in for some food and sangria to enjoy on the porch. Definitely recommend!

It's the kind of place you instantly know you'll want to return to. This was our first time here and we were go glad we made the little trip down to Bourbon, MO! We ordered the bacon and egg panini, and it was cooked perfectly. Whatever homemade seasoned butter they use deserves special recognition--it added so much flavor and made an already great sandwich even better. Of course, the dessert case was impossible to ignore. Everything looked incredible, and choosing was no easy task. We finally settled on a pecan brownie and a sea-salt chocolate chip gooey butter cake slice. Both were fantastic, but the gooey butter cake completely stole the show. Hands-down, it was the absolute best gooey butter cake I have ever had--and I've tried many from plenty of bakers over the years. This single slice may have changed my outlook on life. They've set the bar so high that I honestly don't know how anyone else could top it. Warmed up just as the owner suggested, it was melt-in-your-mouth perfection with a tender, flaky crust and incredible flavor. Absolutely phenomenal. We will definitely be back again--and you should go too!

There's four shots in it so just FYI. Maybe don't drink it after 5:00 p.m. like I did but it was still worth it. The ambiance of this place is absolutely adorable with a rich emerald colored green chair and couch with nice cognac colored armchairs, and a nice fireplace at the head of the cafe gives a cozy and warm ambiance as well as the beautiful Christmas decorations that they had while I was there made it a place that a lot of people wanted to hang out. There were at least six other tables with friends and family just chatting which honestly led to a really nice sense of community which a lot of places in America don't have. And I found this place to be absolutely lovely and worth every penny. A true gem to Oakville!
