We had mixed experiences with our 48" fridge and freezer repair. Our initial issue was related to…read morethe freezer not cooling and making a very loud noise when running. This took 3 visits to resolve with the first being a bit of a misdiagnosis. After that- that issue was resolved fairly easily. The second request was for fridge and freezer gasket replacement. This was (and still is) a complete disaster. The gasket has been changed, installed a second time, reordered, and reinstalled- without the issue being rectified. A heat gun was used by the tech at the initial installation to help the gasket expand. This damaged the inside of the door and the freezer compartment still isn't as it should be in terms of the gasket forming a proper seal. We were essentially told the issue with the seal had to do with "internal insulation degradation" and that there is nothing more to be done. We are left with the option to use paper towels to expand the gasket so it reaches the body of the freezer- still with no actual seal. No attempt to compensate for the time, effort, and lack of ability to fix the issue on the part of the company. The tech we dealt with is very professional, personable, and helpful, but the lack of the company's accountability for the job not being completed to a satisfactory level leaves me not so happy to recommend this company to anyone- particularly since the simpler of the 2 jobs we requested was the one that has still not been resolved. The cost of the services was also excessive given the number of times we had to have them out and the fact that it is still not repaired properly.

Last night, my Kenmore washer, with a full load, stopped spinning. The washer was filled with cool…read morewater, just sitting there. This morning, my house went up for sale. People were going to be streaming through looking at everything, so I called AcDc Appliance Repair, spoke with Fred and told him my problem. Told hlm I had to get it fixed right away. This was at 9:45 a.m. Fred said he understood and that he'd squeeze me in; told me he'd be there between noon and 2 pm. He arrived at 12:05 p.m, and within half an hour fixed the machine. Well dressed, professional and a very reasonable cost to replace the spin mechanism on the washing machine. Paid slightly over $200, all in. I've kept his number and will be in touch with Fred's company ANYtime I need an appliance repair. If I could give AC-DC more than 5 stars I would. Heartily recommend!

I sent him text messages and pictures of the washer so there was no confusion. I told him that I've already diagnosed it myself and there was faulty wiring at the back. He called me back and said it was no problem and that he could fix it. He showed up, spent a few minutes pretending he was doing something at the control board, and then confirmed the same diagnosis, then told me to call an electrician and tried to charge me $90 just for that. When I reminded him that the whole reason I hired him was because I thought he was an electrician and he told me he could fix it, he suddenly offered to complete the job -- for $260+tax ($300 total). He spent a few minutes at the back of the washer with some OxGuard and a pair of pliers. When I asked him what he actually did (multiple times), he refused to explain and continue to say he's been in the business for 40 years. For $300, I expect some explanation. After he left the washer got stuck on "wash" mode that was never there before. Called him back and he called it a 'completely separate issue' (meaning he was going to charge me if he came back). I went in myself and found a yellow wire disconnected from the control board right where he was playing around earlier. Ended up diagnosing and fixing his mistake on my own. $300 for OxiGuard and pliers, a new problem created, and zero accountability. Posting this as a warning to others. Save your money and call someone else!
