Super (overly) friendly service. Seated quickly with food coming out quickly. Seems a little pricey for Yuma as the food was just ok. Chicken Fried steak (from frozen) and eggs was just ok. Biscuits and gravy ok as well. Not sure why everyone raves about the gravy, it was pedestrian at best. We've had much better many times. Maybe these folks don't know what real gravy tastes like. We only visit Yuma as my husband works out there for a couple months and I bookmarked this spot for brunch. Love that there were locals in the joint and the service was excellent. Everyone is friendly and the spot has a homey feel to it. We had our two baby boys with us and we ordered pancakes, chicken strips, poutine, and steak and eggs. Everything was standard, delicious brunch food. We ended up taking home the strips as my one son was asleep and stayed sleeping throughout our meal. He stayed asleep next to my husband in a booth. If we ever come back to Yuma, I'd definitely give this spot another visit just for the service alone. read more

What a great little restaurant! The parking lot was full (good sign in a Tuesday morning) and the place was packed with locals (another good sign). The blueberry pancakes were full of blueberries and very good. They should bottle and sell the home made salsa, wow!, so tasty! The waitress was super nice, friendly and kept our coffees full. Visited 11/9/2023 Wow Fantastic Breakfast Brunch Place. Breakfast Yesterday in Yuma Az after Doctors Appointment. Loretta had The Chicken Fried Steak. The Steak was tasty with good flavor but a little overcooked. The Home Fried Potatoes were seasoned nicely but could have used 2 minutes longer in the pan. But The Home Made Sausage Gravy from Scratch Was Amazing. I Ordered The Gravy Boat Breakfast with extra Eggs. Fantastic Breakfast comes with double Hash Browns Smothered in That Outstanding Country Sausage Gravy. All was cooked perfectly. This is now my Go To Breakfast Joint When I'm In Yuma. Place doesn't look fancy but has a lot of history. We wanted to try someplace new coming back from California. I definitely recommend this little diner. Our server was Lindsay and she was super nice and had lots of carisma. I had the chicken fried steak with eggs and hash browns. Also came with a side of toast and I ordered rye toast which was delicious. My CFS came out crispy and hot with just the right amount, texture of sausage gravy. My wife had the fish and chips which she liked very much. It was crunchy and hot even the fries were crispy. Over all I'm glad I found this place and pinning it to my favorites, so next time I travel through. read more

As travelers 400 miles (so far) from home, to walk into a restaurant where everyone is genuinely cheerful & friendly, the only word(s) I can think of is joyful & joy filled! We enjoyed delicious & flavorful cheeseburgers and fresh hot crinkle fries (our favorite)! Our server, Tammy, was wonderfully attentive. Their Tshirts say "Always 100%" - we agree 100% 5 stars for food & service! 11/21/24. Update: traveling through again & stopped in for lunch and breakfast! Consistently delicious and flavorful! Sadly it wasn't as good as we hoped for, I had chicken fried steak with home potatoes I gonna say they came out of a freezer bag not so great, chicken fried steak gravy was alright at I will leave it at that. I will say the salsa was absolutely delicious, sad they are missing the mark should have a Spanish omelet with that on top, and other things with that incorporated. We also had the gravy boat lets just say that boat should be docked and not served can't say it was very good. As for service sadly it's lacking as well we asked for decaf tea they forgot, we asked for fresh milk or cream we never received, asked for another cup of coffee she forgot had to ask someone else. read more

On Saturday, I visited this cozy spot in Yuma that emanates a homely vibe, making it almost feel like dining in my own home. The staff was excellent. I got the steak and eggs with home fries and coffee a classic choice that rarely disappoints. My child went for sausage and eggs with hash browns, accompanied by a refreshing glass of orange juice. Thanks to fellow yelpers we gave Rick's a try while tripping through Yuma, AZ. Good choice for a tasty burger and some killer onion rings! I chose the bacon cheeseburger, while the Mr. decided on the jalapeño burger. Great tasting burgers that a really big enough to share. We ate a few tots- they were standard- but demolished the perfectly crispy onion rings. We took our order to go cause we had the wonder-puppy with us, but the counter help was friendly in a busy place, so kudos to them too. read more

We drive by Rick's Kitchen every day and it is always packed. I had heard lots of good things about their breakfast, so we finally got around to going today! We waited until 11am so we could avoid the morning rush. When we walked in, we were encouraged to find a table of our choice. There were two empty tables.Would have liked a booth, but didn't think it would be appropriate to request the current diners to move! There is a covered outdoor patio, but the chill in the air was just a tad too chilly, so we chose a table just inside the back door. We were immediately greeted by our server, whom, for the life of me, I cannot remember her name. My guess, however, is she has been there way longer than the rest of the servers. Very friendly and personable with a great sense of humor! The morning specials were posted outside on a chalkboard, but she still took the time to run through them. It's great to see individuals who appear to enjoy their jobs! We chose the SOS and the 2X2X2. Our server brought us some ice water and a cup of coffee for me. I like my coffee with heavy cream. (I know...strange, right!?) They did not have any cream, so I decided I would still try the coffee with half & half. I'll give two thumbs DOWN on the coffee. Not sure if I would have liked it had they had heavy cream. The mugs are a perfect size with a handle that's just right. It seemed like others who had arrived after us were getting their meals before us. We weren't starving, nor were we in a hurry, so we decided to be patient. After our server dealt with an issue in the kitchen, she came out and apologized to my husband, explaining that, unfortunately, they had run out of the SOS. (No sh*#) He then decided on the three meat breakfast bowl. After she took his second order, our meals came out very quickly. His breakfast was a smaller portion than he expected. Mine was not hot anymore. The butter took forever to melt on my pancakes. I am assuming it's because my plate was ready when they realized that my husband's original breakfast item was not available, so it sat there for a bit. Two thumbs up for making my bacon extra extra crispy and my eggs medium well, just as requested! The pancakes didn't have much taste to them. My husband described his meal as, "It was there. Nothing to write home about!" Now, we absolutely like to support our local businesses, but considering it was almost $34 for one coffee and 2 breakfasts, it was just a bit too pricey in my opinion. I can now say that I finally tried Rick's Kitchen and the employees are all REALLY nice. The food is only okay. I know the current economy may have a bearing on the cost to do business, but, for what we got, we definitely won't make a habit of going there in the future. read more

Corn dog batter didn't cook 100% Pie at nearly 8.00 a slice. There was a funky flavor w/ discoloration on one of the three slices. All three had the same flavor of pie. The dark section of crust tasted like beef or beef gravy had spilled on the crust prior to baking (verified with companion) "tastes like beef pot pie". Have driven past Ricks Kitchen numerous times. This morning, after the wife had fasted for labs, this was the closest place open. Decided to give it a shot. Very happy we did. Staff is very friendly. Food was pretty good and hot. For me it was just the right amount as I'm normally a big eater. I didn't leave hungry. Wife enjoyed hers also. Since we aren't normally in Yuma daily, I can't say I'll be there often, but it's certainly now our Yuma breakfast spot when we have the chance. Wife reminded me we can stop for lunch also. I highly recommend it, unless you want to spend more at the big chain restaurants where you won't get this kind of service and food. Visited them on a Friday around lunchtime and they were really busy. We both ordered breakfast. I ordered their one egg, one meat, 1 toast and hash brown meal. Which was ample amount of food for a low price of 4.60. Husband ordered a larger meal that was almost too much for him to eat. My only complaint was location of our seats right by kitchen, with clanging, fans, very noisy and did take away from the experience. Left wanting to finish meal quickly.
