    Tortilla Soup
    Dante M.

Garden Cafe is another one of my favorite restaurants in Yuma, and I always make sure to come here when I'm in town! The service is so friendly, as my family knows some of the servers personally and will give them hugs! The food here is delicious as well, and they are known for their tortilla soup! The soup is super flavorful and has loads of tortilla and avocado in it! My girlfriend and I also split the tri tip plate, which comes with 4 pieces of tri tip, a side salad, beans (black or pinto), salsa, and tortillas! By splitting the plate, this was just not enough food for me, so I ate the rest of an asada burrito which was really good! The only reason I'm hesitant on giving it 5 stars is that the portion sizes aren't the biggest, but the food is of top quality! definitely check it out if you're in the area, and I can't wait to be back!

We love coming here for the famous tortilla soup!! Unfortunately, the other food we have tried is pretty subpar in our opinion. The seating is only outdoors so keep that in mind but they're only open when the weather is nice and they do have heaters. Our service has always been great !

One of our favorite places to visit when we are in town. There are so many choices. This time I had the Chicken Salad Sandwich and DH had the half sandwich and soup. My taste buds might be changing, but the chicken salad wasn't very flavorful. This is an outdoor cafe. They have propane heaters, and a covering for shade. The seating is on a terraced area so steps might be required. The service is great, refilling coffee, tea and water without having to ask. We didn't feel rushed even though the place was filling up. We had the chocolate cake for dessert.

Vegetable quiche, fruit and coffee cake.

But what you'll find is a 5 star restaurant once you step inside. They have patio dining as well as tables inside. Each meal is prepared and plated with culinary skill. On this day, I had the curry shrimp and veggies. A sort of deconstructed Thai yellow curry dish. The plating made all the difference. The plate was served with a shaped mound of rice in the middle, with sauteed vegetables around the edges, green beans, carrots, zucchinis, onions, peppers and 8 shrimp placed around the plate on top of the veggies. The Yellow curry was poured over the rice for a unique plating. The shrimp were cooked nicely and everything was delicious. I have never had a disappointing meal in this place. I sat near the front door and had a duel with a relentless fly for a while that was a little annoying. But hey, sometime we deal with things in life for the greater good. A top notch , do not miss restaurant in my book and I recommend to everyone I know. This day I purposely left my phone in the car so I could take a real break on my drive from San Diego to Tucson.

My wife and I and a friend visited Cafecito on the Monday after Easter. The service was great and the drinks were ready quickly. We looked around the main building at all of the cool artistic touches and even a few private spaces. People were reading books, talking, using laptops, relaxing, etc. We took our drinks and found a nice spot under a gazebo in their expansive outdoor garden area. We chatted for the better part of an hour. No rush. Fantastic space which filled up rather quickly on a Monday morning. Plenty of people taking advantage of the amazing seating areas in the outdoor space. We will definitely be back. Already looking forward to it. Prison Hill is the classic brewery serving a great variety of beers and food. Lineup for the night: Chango Malo (stout), Crimin Ale (cream ale), Peanut Butter Stout. Each beer was phenomenal in mouth feel as I like the richer, creamier beers. Chango malo had a lovely cocoa flavor. Peanut Butter stout actually tasted like peanut butter without being offensive. You can taste the peanuts behind the butter. The Crimin ale had a good mouth feel but pro tip - don't have a lighter beer between two heavier ones with spicy food. It gets a bit overpowered. On the topic of food, I had the Wrecker sandwich. Soft roll, smoked meat, and crunchy slaw made for a good dichotomy of texture in the sandwich. When you see smoke rings in a bbq sandwich, you know you're eating some primo shit. I'm not a big fan of spicy though but this was the right amount between the slaw and the fresh jalapeños. I felt like deviating from the usual burger and it was a good choice. Looking around at some of the other plates, I don't think I couldve gone wrong. Solid venue, good food, good beer, great staff. Usually I'm not into chains and handcuffs but if it means ending up at Prison Hill, lock me up baby.

Cass was, and probably still is, a delight. My first meal was great. The two subsequent meals were definitely less than I'd have expected. The first was the Brown butter parmesan pasta. No bueno! It was basic spaghetti noodles drown in melted (not brown) butter with some grated parmesan cheese on top. Greasy, bland, and just seemed like poverty noodles with some fancy cheese. Dinner partner got a wrap that was "Good on the inside but the wrap (tortilla) seemed stale. Next trip was he Juicy Wheezy burger. Still no Cass, service was meh at best. Burger was decent enough and the green bean fries were a nice change from taters but I was expecting more of a tempura batter and these were a heavy cornmeal type batter. Not bad, just not what I was thinking. Last, and final, trip I went back to my OG Chicken fried steak (beef) and it was AWFUL! It was a tiny, borderline burnt, piece of meat that was less than half the previous offering that I loved. At first I thought it was two medallions but it turned out under the gravy was some bland smashed potatoes. Veg was zucchini, which I hate, but that's my fault for not asking. My buddy said his buffalo chicken sandwich was "ok". Service again was sub-par with empty drinks and seemed disinterested in my lack of happiness with my meal. Manager(s) don't seem to be taking an active role in the goings on in the dining room with the exception of our very first visit. We came, we left, we probably won't be back.
