    Tortilla Soup
    Dante M.

Garden Cafe is another one of my favorite restaurants in Yuma, and I always make sure to come here when I'm in town! The service is so friendly, as my family knows some of the servers personally and will give them hugs! The food here is delicious as well, and they are known for their tortilla soup! The soup is super flavorful and has loads of tortilla and avocado in it! My girlfriend and I also split the tri tip plate, which comes with 4 pieces of tri tip, a side salad, beans (black or pinto), salsa, and tortillas! By splitting the plate, this was just not enough food for me, so I ate the rest of an asada burrito which was really good! The only reason I'm hesitant on giving it 5 stars is that the portion sizes aren't the biggest, but the food is of top quality! definitely check it out if you're in the area, and I can't wait to be back!

We love coming here for the famous tortilla soup!! Unfortunately, the other food we have tried is pretty subpar in our opinion. The seating is only outdoors so keep that in mind but they're only open when the weather is nice and they do have heaters. Our service has always been great !

One of our favorite places to visit when we are in town. There are so many choices. This time I had the Chicken Salad Sandwich and DH had the half sandwich and soup. My taste buds might be changing, but the chicken salad wasn't very flavorful. This is an outdoor cafe. They have propane heaters, and a covering for shade. The seating is on a terraced area so steps might be required. The service is great, refilling coffee, tea and water without having to ask. We didn't feel rushed even though the place was filling up. We had the chocolate cake for dessert.

Vegetable quiche, fruit and coffee cake.

My girlfriend was supposed to have her car serviced at the dealership today. A wrench was thrown in the works, so the three of us met for breakfast. My boyfriend and I had already had breakfast, so we ordered off the lunch menu. I had a fried chicken sandwich, he had the chicken Caesar wrap. GF got the churro French toast breakfast plate with poached eggs and bacon. The waitress (Caitlin?) didn't pay much attention to our table. When we got our food, the fried chicken breast in the sandwich was lukewarm and she didn't ask about any sauce (ranch, etc) for the onion rings. The lady had to ask for the poached eggs and bacon. Also, she ordered an iced mocha with oat milk and caramel. Correct me if I'm wrong, but nowhere on the menu did it say that oat milk is an additional cost. Caramel was an additional cost. For a puny little iced coffee it ended up being $10. No refills. And we had to ask for ranch. She filled up my boyfriend's water glass and not mine. If it's empty, fill it. It's a hundred and something outside, please make sure all your guests are hydrated. The bill was $70. The lunches were extremely overpriced for what we got, to be honest. I know that prices have gone up and that inflation is a thing. I get that, I really do. The chicken sandwich was definitely not worth $15 and although the onion rings were good (and I'm thankful we weren't charged extra for them), it was still a letdown. This was akin to a $12 combo meal at a fast food joint. The first time I was here was a couple months ago. I had ordered the Denver omelette and when the waitress came out, she brought the wrong omelette ,(the three meat) out and didn't even try to correct her mistake even AFTER I had said it was wrong. That waitress was also inattentive and ignored us for the majority of our meal. We don't eat out a whole lot so it's a treat when we do. Less of a treat to receive subpar, overpriced food and subpar service. Sorry.

Slices of cake are ample, cheesecake and tiramisu are also available! Tuna tacos were the special but as I am a big fan of Rellenos the Au Gratin Tuna Chili Rellenos appealed to me. Never in a million years would I have combined my mothers tuna salad recipe minus pickles with Ortega style green chilies. A salad of lettuce and two thick slices of tomatoes were dressed with a delicate oil and vinegar combo. I might not order this dish again but it was light and yummy. Yep it's back by popular demand but it's now called egg in a nest. What the heck? Anyway every one ordered something different and we ate to our hearts content and had no complaints whatsoever about the food, the ambiance or the cleanliness. Chicken fried chicken dinner evaporated from his plate. The burger and onion petals seemed to have delighted the nephew. One of the ladies in our party seemed happy with her chicken strips, which were more than abundant! Another ordered a diet plate of some sort with cottage cheese and sliced tomatoes and was especially happy. A new item on the menu appealed to another. Louisiana shrimp skillet. Was flavorful, and those who tasted the nice portion of shrimp agreed that it was surprisingly delicious. The side, dishes of okra, and greens are always favorites. All of us commented on the new menu. Although we missed the old format, this one is easier to hold, and the print is bold enough that you're not needing to use your flashlight if you're older like we are. We are thankful that the menu has the old favorites, something new and that Cracker Barrel values its customers. It's such a nice thing to be able to travel and dine at any location and feel like your unfamiliar surroundings. But I wonder why is that there are so many locals who freely admit that they have never yet dined here? One maintenance issue... the latch on the ladies handicap stall door is STILL needing to be fixed! One issue with our visit. Not once were we offered refills on beverages.
