Super (overly) friendly service. Seated quickly with food coming out quickly. Seems a little pricey for Yuma as the food was just ok. Chicken Fried steak (from frozen) and eggs was just ok. Biscuits and gravy ok as well. Not sure why everyone raves about the gravy, it was pedestrian at best. We've had much better many times. Maybe these folks don't know what real gravy tastes like. Anyway, we'll be back as it was good including the service. Well try something else next time.

Visited 11/9/2023 Wow Fantastic Breakfast Brunch Place. Breakfast Yesterday in Yuma Az after Doctors Appointment. Loretta had The Chicken Fried Steak. The Steak was tasty with good flavor but a little overcooked. The Home Fried Potatoes were seasoned nicely but could have used 2 minutes longer in the pan. But The Home Made Sausage Gravy from Scratch Was Amazing. I Ordered The Gravy Boat Breakfast with extra Eggs. Fantastic Breakfast comes with double Hash Browns Smothered in That Outstanding Country Sausage Gravy. All was cooked perfectly. This is now my Go To Breakfast Joint When I'm In Yuma. If you get to Yuma this place is worth a visit. Right off the I-8 Freeway.

Place doesn't look fancy but has a lot of history. We wanted to try someplace new coming back from California. I definitely recommend this little diner. Our server was Lindsay and she was super nice and had lots of carisma. I had the chicken fried steak with eggs and hash browns. Also came with a side of toast and I ordered rye toast which was delicious. My CFS came out crispy and hot with just the right amount, texture of sausage gravy. My wife had the fish and chips which she liked very much. It was crunchy and hot even the fries were crispy. Over all I'm glad I found this place and pinning it to my favorites, so next time I travel through.

Sadly it wasn't as good as we hoped for, I had chicken fried steak with home potatoes I gonna say they came out of a freezer bag not so great, chicken fried steak gravy was alright at I will leave it at that. I will say the salsa was absolutely delicious, sad they are missing the mark should have a Spanish omelet with that on top, and other things with that incorporated. We also had the gravy boat lets just say that boat should be docked and not served can't say it was very good. As for service sadly it's lacking as well we asked for decaf tea they forgot, we asked for fresh milk or cream we never received, asked for another cup of coffee she forgot had to ask someone else.

I liked everything from Ricks kitchen, the service People. But I mis having them at the Arizona market place where we first had him food. What they have now sucks. ( they Couldn't even make a burger right. And didn't give me our complete order ) Rick and his people are great. Always pleasant have a nice little place now. And believe' s in word of mouth can make or break a restaurant. And it's very true. If there's a problem with your meal he wants to know so it can be fixed. Love that about him. read more

My husband and I ordered burgers. Everything was good except the bottom bun was incredibly soggy (on both burgers) by the time they got dropped off at our house. It was caused either by the juicy burger (which is a good thing, but still stunk about the bottom bun) or the fact the delivery driver never informed us of the delivery. So we got it about 10 mins after it was delivered. I don't want to punish the restaurant for that. Like I said, the burgers were pretty darn good if it wasn't for that bottom bun... they'd have been great! I would definitely give this place another try and I'm sure it will be 5/5 stars! read more

Had a burger the other day. Was the worst I'd ever had. I could of went to Burger King and got a better tasting one. Frozen Patty's thrown down are not the business. You should state on your menu that they are frozen. Also, I recommend those who are OCD to stay away. The decor will drive you bonkers! Service was meh. read more

Very friendly staff. As soon as my family and I walked in, we were greeted by 3 different workers. They were very kind to my 2 year old daughter, interacting with her and smiling. The food was great as well, prices are decent! The only thing I would have wanted different is for them to have had 1000 island dressing. But its all good anyway! I would still come again even though they don't carry it! 5 stars for this wholesome business! read more

Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures, but this place was great. The restaurant was very clean. From when we walked in we were greeted and they got our drink order. We ordered the chicken fried steak and they suggested the gravy boat for my husband. The food was so good! Best home-cooked breakfast I've had in Yuma in a long time! Holy Cow! Rick has produced the VERY best Hollandaise Sause I have ever had, and I don't take my Eggs Benedict lightly. I have had good and bad Hollandaise and now I have had the best. I want the maximum amount of "runny" yoke but with the whites cooked. Rick accomplished this task perfectly. All of the other orders at our table were perfect also. They just didn't know enough to order Eggs Benedict. I would like to see Florentine added to the menu now and then. But that's just me. That's breakfast, went for lunch. Same story, different time of day. Every thing was great. I was told Rick was out on a supply run, so I spoke to his daughter, who was left in charge. She was wonderful, what a proud father he must be. I asked to have my hot dog grilled/browned/blackened before it was dipped in the breading to make it a Corn Dog. She did it and what a great Corn Dog it was. You should try it, you will demand it wherever you go for Corn Dogs. I haven't even mentioned the wait staff. Where did they come from? Rick has gathered a fine group of people who have you in mind and serving you as their priority. They are friendly, helpful and make a real connection with the customers. The friendly manager and waiter made my friend and I feel very welcome. They have a brand-new menu with many selections for breakfast and lunch. We each chose breakfast, and everything was delicious. The pancakes were the best I have ever eaten! The restaurant was very clean. Two of three staffers were quite friendly. Overall service was good Needs Improvement Server was not having a good day, seemed like. Not very friendly and I was a bit put off by no apology when I asked for a clean cup -- trace of lipstick on it. Check to see if dish washing was effective. Bottom line is this is one of the better Black Bear diners we've been to. Worth a try.

Yep it's back by popular demand but it's now called egg in a nest. What the heck? Anyway every one ordered something different and we ate to our hearts content and had no complaints whatsoever about the food, the ambiance or the cleanliness. Chicken fried chicken dinner evaporated from his plate. The burger and onion petals seemed to have delighted the nephew. One of the ladies in our party seemed happy with her chicken strips, which were more than abundant! Another ordered a diet plate of some sort with cottage cheese and sliced tomatoes and was especially happy. A new item on the menu appealed to another. Louisiana shrimp skillet. Was flavorful, and those who tasted the nice portion of shrimp agreed that it was surprisingly delicious. The side, dishes of okra, and greens are always favorites. All of us commented on the new menu. Although we missed the old format, this one is easier to hold, and the print is bold enough that you're not needing to use your flashlight if you're older like we are. We are thankful that the menu has the old favorites, something new and that Cracker Barrel values its customers. It's such a nice thing to be able to travel and dine at any location and feel like your unfamiliar surroundings. But I wonder why is that there are so many locals who freely admit that they have never yet dined here? One maintenance issue... the latch on the ladies handicap stall door is STILL needing to be fixed! One issue with our visit. Not once were we offered refills on beverages.

Rick's hit it out of the park again. I enjoy the Eggs Benny, the best Hollandaise sauce on the planet. Combine the sauce with perfectly cooked eggs and you have the very best Eggs Benedict. Ever! I hate to say it but the wrap my wife had (something she has had dozens of times) was less than what it usually is. It was wrapped poorly. Tasted great, looked bad. Still deserving of 5 stars. We just moved to Yuma and was looking for a good breakfast place. My son and daughter in law recommended Ricks Kitchen.....Absolutely the best customer service and employees. Very friendly and welcoming. The food is excellent. Small town atmosphere with good ol' home cooked meals like mom did. Prices are great. Highly recommend. read more
