I feel that Chambers charges a very reasonable amount for their repairs, and for all that it seems like a small back street garage, I had them replace the battery on my Mini Cooper because a larger shop didn't know how to "register" the new battery on the computer as Mini/BMW suggests. They had no problem with it. The only disadvantage is that they do not handle inspection stickers, but it a minor concern since so many other local garages offer the service. For most other things I will keep using Chambers!

Wish I could give zero stars. Waste of time and money. After charging me $115 for a simple…read morediagnosis of a failed A/C compressor, they proceeded to tell me that in order for the warranty to be valid on a new compressor, they would also have to replace the condenser and a bunch of other parts which were not broken, all for a total of over $1900. I never heard of such a requirement for a "warranty". I asked them for other choices, such as replacing the compressor only and forget the warranty, or install a second-hand compressor. I also asked if the $115 diagnostic charge would be applied as a credit on the final bill. I don't think that was well received. The attendant said she would have to ask the mechanic and get back to me. She never called me back. I guess they figured I was not going to be a pushover customer, so they decided to run with my $115. Meanwhile I got a dealer quote to replace the compressor with an EOM part and warranty for $1300. A mechanic friend of mine advised that I go with the dealer, since private shops often use overpriced after market parts anyway. I never found an auto repair shop that charges more than a dealer, but this is it. THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS.
