What a disaster! I recently moved to Bee Cave and was looking for a new dry cleaner. Like to support small local businesses so hoped Rick's could be that place. I should have known when I first arrived and the plane was chaotic. I was interrogated about my clothes, cotton only for laundering, and it took almost 20 minutes y.o drop off 4 shirts and three pants. But really, the flags should have gone up when i was asked to pay in advanced. No cleaner have ever asked for that, so i asked why. I was told that some customers refused to pay off they didn't like how their cleaning turned out. Well, now I understand why. When i picked up my clothes, all four shirts were jammed into the same bag and tied together with a twist tie... completely wrinkled. They looked worse that they did when i dropped them off. All had to be reironed when i got home. Same for the pants. I guess saving 1/4 of a penny on plastic bag helps Rick's outfit margins. Well, I guess you get what you pay for. Low cost = low quality. I'm not likely to use Rick's again. read more

I very rarely post reviews. But when I am getting a bargain and great service then I would be doing a disservice to that business. I highly recommend Ricks Cleaners in Bee Cave, Texas. Rarely do I get a dress shirt returned to me that is just about flawless. My suits and winter wear is well done as well. To add to it, their prices are some, if not the best in Bee Cave, Lakeway or Austin. Count me as a loyal, satisfied customer! read more

Third time I've used Rick's and the first two were uneventful with pretty good service. Third time my new shirt lost a button and I was expecting them to sew the spare on for me but I got a fairly snarky "We're not responsible" and the word "sorry" never happened once. OK ! I often read a Yelp review that starts "I wish I could give zero stars" and think to myself, "oh, come on... I'm sure it's not that bad, what a whiner". Well, I'll never think that again after my first ever "I wish I could give zero stars" review. I'm new to the area so just stopped at the first cleaners I saw, right by the liquor store, seemed convenient. When I dropped off my simple order (4 shirts and one business suit) the cashier told me they'd text me on the mobile number i provided when my cleaning was ready, another bonus since I always forget to pick up my dry cleaning. Then she told me the laundry would be ready on Tuesday and the dry cleaning on Wednesday, super reasonable turnaround... I was relieved to have found a cleaners so easy. When Thursday came and went and I received no text as promised a full day later than promised completion I asked my wife on FRIDAY if she could swing by while she was out, maybe I gave them the wrong phone number or something. She came home with my shirts and no suit after verifying that the number was right. They cannot find my suit, so they told my wife they'd do some research into my suit and call within an hour. Three hours later and still no call so I pulled out my receipt to call them, which I did repeatedly for about 30 minutes getting an electronic generic voicemail every time which didn't even identify the business I was calling, just asking me to leave a message. Since it was only about 5 pm we physically drove back to the cleaners to be told they think they'll know more tomorrow. I'm not even sure I know what that means. Anyway, steer clear unless you want terrible service and to never see your garments again. read more

USERS BEWARE! There are many alternatives to Rick's Cleaners in the Bee Cave area and I can't recommend any of them enough. Sure this place is cheap, but cheap customer service is what you'll get. First off they did a poor job cleaning my wife's dress and still charged her full price for it on a previous visit. Okay, I get it, you can't clean everything. BUT the real icing on the cake was when they lost a brand new dress shirt of mine. Because I didn't keep the receipt they refused to pay me full price for the shirt and instead only paid 75%. When I called back, the woman on the phone just said "Sorry that's our policy." And I asked so "Let me get this right, you lost my shirt and now you're having me foot the bill to replace it?"..."That's just the policy." Take it for what it's worth, but with all the other options in the area, I'll happily take my family's business elsewhere. Horrible customer service. read more

I give it a two star because they do a pretty good job on the clothes. We have been using this location for a couple of years because of convenience and price but not sure we'll go back. Their customer service is probably the worst I've ever experienced. It's not just one person--it seems that everyone that works there hates their job and hates the customers. The last time I went in, after at least a minute of silence, she finally said, "what's your last name". She retrieved the clothes, placed them on a rack and said "here you go". No " hello", no "thank you, no "have a nice day"--nothing. Not sure how they stay in business........ read more

I've been using Rick's cleaners for 5+ years. They have lost an item once, but did compensate me for it. My overall experience has been great. They are fast, affordable and do a great job. Also worth mentioning, i've never gotten a shirt back with broken buttons...this is a huge issue with some of the other cleaners near by. read more

The women who work here are really unpleasant, unfriendly and quite frankly rude! I really gave this place a shot for a year as they are the lowest in price in the area. But it is really the testament here you get what you pay for. The dirty looks and unpleasantries are tiring. I don't feel like a valued customer at all when I go here. I hope the owner will really take my feedback into consideration and coach these employees to be kinder to their customers. read more

I sent a Z Gallerie plush throw in last week, and picked it up today and it literally looks like a dog blanket at this point. It was soft and fluffy when it went in and now it looks like someone scraped it with a razor. Lamar shop yet on line) Saw the grand opening $1.59/laundered shirt sale passing by the S.LAMAR SHOP, thought I would give 'em a try as my old reliable cleaners went up to $1.99/shirt. Took in 7 shirts, said HEAVY STARCH. Picked up shirts today:NO STARCH AND ONE OF THE SHIRTS WAS BOXED AND FOLDED! I did not request this and it was up-charged $.60 for it. The boxed shirt was more wrinkled than when I took it in and three of the remaining shirts on hangers were somewhat wrinkled also.One and done! And the $1.59 was just a one week type thing. I'm going back to Capitol Cleaners on S. 1st...they may be a little higher, but they have been great for many years... read more

Well we were pleased at first however there is a reason why they are cheaper and they ask for their money up front. Two times I have taken my clothes home only to find that when the are unwrapped they looked unpressed. These are dry cleaned items as they warn you against putting anything in their laundry that cooks clothes at 150 degrees. Today I took back a white linen jacket (new, worn only one time) that I had picked up from then last week. It looked like it had been picked up at a thrift store it was in such sorry shape. I asked if they could repress it and the guy showed me the sign - if I did not have my receipt (even though it had their tag on it still) and if I did not bring it back in two days - too bad. I looked at the clothes I was picking up and had the very same complaint and was told too bad again - even though I was standing there with receipt and had not left the store. A shrug of the shoulder and no care in the world that the garment did not look pressed. My steam could have ironed the clothes I was so mad. Nothing is cheap about them, I took my clothes directly to another dry cleaner to get them pressed. read more

For a discount dry cleaners , i have been pleased for the most part. Until today...Idalua (sp) was the most rude employee i have come across in a long time. I brought in a shirt for a redo. She told me she did not know how to code it and told me to come back another day when the manager was in. I told her that i live in dripping springs and only come in once a week. Her snark reply was "well i drive here every day from del valley". Excuse me...isn't this your job??? I asked her to please call someone who would know how to code my redo since she did not know how. She did so reluctantly. Low and behold they walked her through the process...easy as pie. Her co worker Veronica was a polite as can be, and apologized for her coworkers ridiculously rude attitude. read more

As others have said, really a poor customer experience. Staff not friendly, even unfriendly at times. You pay before the service is rendered. Only somewhat satisfied with the result but that's mediocre as well when compared to competitors like Reid's. Would actually rather pay more and be a little more inconvenienced to get a better result, and support businesses that have staff who are friendly and enjoy being part of the community. read more

I switched to Ricks in Bee Cave about 4 or 5 years ago, I can not complain too much about the quality of work but the service has been questionable over the last year or so. I am glad that Karen is back (about a month or so) at this location and in charge again which is the ONLY reason I am giving 5 stars. I would have switched to somewhere else; however, this location is really convenient for me. I had come to expect a friendly, helpful face and experience each time I came to the location when Karen was there previously. Broken button or something a miss, she took care of it, no question. When she left the location it was hard to keep help and they were rude confirming with several of my neighbors (glad to know it was not just me). They would just point to the sign when if I questioned their "broken button" policy or had a problem. (Who really checks there weekly drop off at the store?) I filled out a comment on the website and was never contacted. To that point, I was so excited that Karen was back I commented on their website and was not contacted or thanked at all. In closing, I have to say, if you want to go somewhere here in the bubble and be greeted by name and know your problems, if they occur, will be handled, go here. Karen and the new team have been really friendly and helpful which is a positive change from the last year. I know I have not seen all of the team there but the two other new guys there are really friendly as well, greeting me by name. Sad that I have not been contacted from management/corporate after asking to be, but glad to have the service and friendly people at this location. read more

They lost a custom pair of pants of mine and I called several times trying to get a resolve. Karen was the manager and you could tell they were CYA'ing by saying there's checks and balances were in play and there's no way we could have ever lost the pants. She said she'd call me back and 4 weeks go by. I go back anyways (convenience) and brought this up to Karen and she stated that they don't have the pants. Nothing was done about the situation and she failed to call me back to let me know. I guess she thought out of sight out of mind which that's despicable, especially if you're in a service industry. read more

Just moved in and took a load of shirts to be laundered. This place lost one of my shirts on the first load. They tried to giving them to me one short without saying a word about the missing shirt. Then they tried to give me credit for the laundering of one shirt saying they must have counted wrong. I told them the count was correct and my shirts cost a lot more than the $2 credit for laundering one. Filled out a form describing the shirt and must now wait 30 days. No one was either friendly, courteous, or apologetic about losing my shirt. In short no apologies, no return of the money for laundering the shirt that is missing, nothing. Am I going to use this place again? No way. read more

Karen at the Bee Cave location is so pleasant and helpful! Clothes come back great most of the time. When, once in awhile they don't, she happily takes them back to redo. I also love that Rick's recycles their hangers and plastic bags Good company! read more

Since switching to Rick's from the cleaners right down the road, I've saved around $110 a month. I bring in about 6 pieces a week which runs me $15.52. At the other cleaners (I'll keep their name private) those 6 pieces would cost me $43. Dry cleaning shouldn't cost that much and I refuse to pay more now that I've found Rick's. I have been a loyal customer at Ricks Cleaners for many years. I recently received a $300 jacket back from them missing a button and with a permanent black streak across the front. When I brought it back they said there is nothing they would do for me. They didn't mind losing a valuable customer and they offered me no assistance. Even the manager sent me away unhappy. Some of the worst customer service I've ever received. Shame on them. read more

A pair of my designer jeans were swapped out with a pair of nondescript black pants and the Customer Service person at Ricks will not honor my claim form which included all required documentation and was signed by the location manager. I have taken this issue all the way through the Better Business Bureau complaint system which only provides a forum for grievances not a resolution. I also have complained to the Southwest Drycleaners Association. I have never been treated so rudely and was accused by Ricks of trying to cheat them! read more

Karen, the manager at the Bee Caves location, is absolutely rude, surly, and replys with anything that she thinks makes them look not responsible for the poor quality of their work. My linen blouse came back with black marks which were not there when I took it in to be cleaned. She claims they were there and they could not remove them. You get what you pay for! This dry cleaners is the cheapest around, however, in 4 mos. they have lost 2 of my husbands shirts. So how much is it really costing me? We have had excellent service at this Rick's. Today, there was new manager. Along with my cleaning, I brought a sleevelss blouse that had a ruffled placket down the front and still had a tag saying "Rick's". The ruffles on both sides had been starched and pressed to the inside, meaning they would overlay each other and were pressed exactly backwards. Yes, this blouse would have been laundered at the end of the last warm season, so possibly last late summer or early fall. It was hung in our off-season closet and I only noticed this when I took the blouse out this past week. I asked that it be redone. First I was told it could only be done correctly if drycleaned, indicating that I must have asked for laundry (would that really be a valid excuse?) I said okay dry clean it; I never specify dry clean or laundry but leave that to the cleaners because I don't know what works best. Then she said any problem must be brought in within 48 hours. I asked her to check with management and then go ahead. Then she said she is the manager and there were no exceptions to the stated policy. I said I could understand if a)there was any question that the blouse had been done incorrectly, b)it did not still retain the tag and had not been worn or c) we were not fairly regular customers. Then she said the tag was not the kind they use (does she know what tags they had last summer and fall?) We have only used this cleaners since 11/2011. Then she said she was doing what she had been told to do. I agreed to pay for the dry cleaning and said I would air my view on yelp. My complaint is that this young woman unfairly refused to entertain that the circumstances might warrant an exception to the policy. First, she indicated that she, as manager, was authorized to make the decision; then indicated that she had no authority and must follow policy. The overall experience was negative as in not wanting to help or keep a customer over a very few dollars. I hope this will not be the norm. read more

Terrible work. Not only were ALL of my clothes still wrinkled when I picked them up, but they also stapled the dry cleaning tag through an expensive shirt of mine. Now, they are making me jump through hoops to get a refund. I brought in the wrinkled clothes and they still refused to give me a refund. Rick's wants to be "affordable" ... but you get way you pay for. Cheap prices for still-wrinkled clothes. No thanks. read more
