I would not recommend Press Cleaners and feel strongly that their business model is misleading. Summary: Press Cleaners charges a premium for a service they do not actually provide, offers poor customer support, and returned my wedding dress completely uncleaned after missed deliveries and multiple communication failures. I scheduled dry cleaning for my wedding dress and clearly indicated that it was a wedding dress, included care instructions, and noted specific areas with stains that needed attention. From the start, communication was a problem. I attempted to contact customer service to update pickup instructions and received no response. I reached out again with questions about delivery timing once the cleaning was complete, and again received no response. My delivery was delayed by a full day, and the original delivery time window I selected was not honored for the new day. Since no one would be home during the updated window, I contacted customer service yet again and still received no reply. Eventually, a customer service agent called me to say they were unable to remove the stains and would issue a partial store credit. During that call, I asked about the updated delivery time and was told they did not know. At that point, the new delivery window had already passed and my dress still had not arrived. The agent was not even aware that my order had not been delivered and could not tell me where my dress was. When I asked what methods were used to clean the dress or what attempts had been made to remove the stains, the agent had no information at all. It became clear that Press completely outsources everything. The dry cleaning, pickup, and delivery are all handled by local cleaners. Press is simply an app and a customer service layer, and even that is poorly managed since they have no visibility into the status, location, or care of your items. When my dress was finally delivered, it came with the bag and receipt from the local dry cleaner. That receipt showed a price that was roughly one quarter of what I paid Press. The local cleaner's receipt also included pickup and delivery, which made it very unclear what I was actually paying Press for. Press was unable to assist me at any point in the process. The dress arrived in the exact same condition it was picked up in. The stains were still there, with no improvement at all. I honestly believe no one attempted to clean it. Afterward, we used baby wipes at home and were able to remove the stains on the first attempt, which made this even more frustrating. Customer service was a poor experience as well. The agent was rude, frequently interrupted me, and was argumentative rather than helpful. I only received a refund after stating that I would dispute the charge. In short, you are paying about four times the price for a service that provides no added value. The cleaning, pickup, and delivery are all handled by another company, and Press offers no meaningful oversight, accountability, or support. I would absolutely not use this business again. read more

Quite possibly the worst customer service I have ever received. I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was so bad that people should know... I brought several garments to Press Cleaners in Austin specifically for dry cleaning. Instead, they were washed and folded, which is not what I requested and not appropriate for these items. As a result, three garments were ruined. When I raised the issue, I got a completely inconsistent and frustrating response: First, they said their policy was to re-dry clean everything. When they did reschedule to pick my clothing up, they were 3 hours behind schedule and I had to re-alert them of this. Then they called back and said they would wash and fold again except for 4 of the garments (which makes no sense given the problem). Then they accused me of having worn the garments--I had not worn any of them. After that, they claimed the items had been dry cleaned by another vendor--which is simply untrue, as they had clearly not been properly treated at all. At every step, the responsibility was deflected back onto me instead of being acknowledged. In the end, they refused to refund me and are returning my clothes still ruined and not dry cleaned nor fixed. Let me save you some time and money by sharing my saga of working with PRESS and the many chances I've given them. 1. Dry cleaned a brand new vest and they lost the belt. The customer service was responsive albeit onerous. At the end of everything, they had a limit to what they pay for damaged/lost clothes so I didn't get the full value but was mostly whole. 2. Damaged a shirt we had washed and we're willing to reimburse after another onerous ticket process but we were mostly happy. 3. Then we realized in that same Oder another shirt had been lost. No remuneration, but at least they waived the dry cleaning fee for the shirt they claimed I never gave them. 4. A table cloth was most recently lost. I was not impressed with Press Cleaners, after the first two reds flags, I should have discontinued my association with them. First, on a Sunday, I scheduled a pickup for Monday then I got a text message that they forgot to block Monday so the pickup would be scheduled for Tuesday between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. which didn't happen because the driver claimed that the apartment number was incorrect and he claimed that he called but there no answer. The odd thing is that the app showed my clothes had been picked up. Then the app showed the scheduled pickup between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. but I canceled and rescheduled for Wednesday pickup between 8 a.m. and 10 a..m. To make a long story short, that didn't happen either. I received a call that had the same number and name as the number that called on Tuesday but the call went immediately to voicemail as the number was not in my contacts so I call immediately and got voicemail and left a message and two minutes later, I received another call and answered it right away and asked if it was the driver from Press Cleaners and the person said, "yes, I'm the Uber driver" who said they were out of the area and could return in the afternoon. By this time, I was absolutely fed up with this company, canceled my request and found a reputable and dependable dry cleaners. I live in Hyde Park and freeing up space for a washer/dryer unit was a no-go. The other option is to haul your laundry to the laundry mat which is just time-consuming and often wrought with interesting adventures. So when I heard of Press Cleaners a few years ago, I jumped for joy. I now have more free time instead of washing and folding clothes. Normally I have a hamper full of laundry done each week (about a week's worth of laundry for two people). The turnaround is typically 24 hours. The clothes come back nicely folded. I have not had an order without any missing clothing except for an occasional sock; most of the time they find the missing sock and include it with the next delivery. I have used this company for a few years now. The convenience of having them pick up and drop off your laundry in 24 hours is great. I only had them miss that time frame a couple of times. The reason for the terrible review is I have had items missing on 3 separate occasions that I know about. I have also received items of clothing that weren't mine. They will provide you the opportunity to file a claim, but it's a hassle and just not something I want to go through multiple times. I received multiple shirts back with broken buttons, which made them unwearable. I had over $200 worth of clothes damaged by Press Cleaners. These are such rudimentary mistake from a cleaner, and they intentionally try to return your damaged clothes without telling you. As a customer, you shouldn't have to proactively tell them about damages that are so obvious as the collar and cuffs having the colors bleed into the white fabric. We just moved here from California, I know hold your groans, and our movers haven't arrived yet with our washer/ dryer. With a toddler in tow, self service laundry is tough so when I saw a well placed ad I thought, why not? I asked for the first available pick up (which on Friday wasn't until Tuesday). But on the day they were MIA. Well apparently the driver was swamped and is only in my neighborhood two days a week. Unfortunately, the previously mentioned toddler broke the screen on my phone which caused me to miss the texted update explaining as much. Okay, things happen. They did send someone who arrived about 6 hours late, who instead of apologizing said he didn't know anything and was off the clock but was made to pick up my things. I got a texted offer for 10% of my next pickup, uh I doubt there will be another pickup. When they dropped off the laundry (still no bags from them btw despite saying they provide one your first order) it looked like my toddler folded it. It was messy and the fabric was cheap motel sheets rough. I've used laundry services before and usually get back perfectly tri-folded shirts and neat stacks. It seems they're too busy in my neighborhood to provide reliable service. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. I requested that my clothing and my son's be laundered with our non-chemical based detergent. I also requested that our laundry be dried on low heat or no heat. For the same amount of laundry from my first service to my second it was twice the price. They claimed it was 45 pounds -- considering my son is 19 weeks old and his clothes weigh practically nothing I find this next to impossible to believe. When I removed the laundry from the bag, none of smelled at all like our detergent which is Noodle and Boo. Any moms out there reading this will know exactly what I mean when I say that if our laundry had been washed with our detergent you would know it. It has a very distinct smell. Our whites were obviously not separated and came back dingy. Some of the laundry, or rather most of it didn't smell like clean laundry at all, or feel like clean laundry for that matter. I'm honestly doubting that detergent was used at all on some of not all of it. Many of my son's clothing came back SO SHRUNKEN. Many of the onesies don't even fit him now -- and yes they've all been washed before and have never shrank in this way. Many of them also came back with new mysterious stains and even bleach marks. Everything looks worn down as if it was washed in scalding hot water and then blasted for an hour on high heat. This company ruined about $250 worth of baby clothing and charged me $100 to ruin it. While this was my first time using Press, it will unfortunately also be my last. I had a scheduled delivery time for September 19th from 2-4pm. A couple hours before the scheduled time, I got a text asking me to come down to the lobby to get the clothes. However, since this was not within the scheduled time, I was not home and the clothes had to be dropped off later that day. When I did eventually get my clothes, I noticed that I had an item missing. It was only after I texted the driver inquiring about it that I was informed that it wasn't ready and was asked if Monday, September 25th would be okay for them to drop it off, which I responded that that was fine. That did not happen. On September 26th, I received a text that my jacket would cost $94.99 if I wanted them to clean it - what had they been doing with it all this time, I do not know but I responded that that was fine, as the listed price for leather jackets was already on their website. On September 30th, I reached out to the company asking again when my jacket would be ready. I received a response the next afternoon that they thought it would be ready by Friday, October 6. On Wednesday October 4th, I got a text that my pickup was confirmed(?) for Tuesday October 3 between 8-10am... it was not delivered. On Friday October 6th, I got another text that I had a scheduled delivery that day. It was still not delivered. I then again inquired about my jacket and was told that the cleaner would not be able to deliver my jacket until the following Friday, October 13th. That Friday I got a text that my jacket would be delivered between 8-10am. It was not delivered. I inquired about my jacket again and was told that they would look into it. At 1:20 pm, I got a text from the driver informing me that they were at my apartment and asking if I could come down to get it. Because I was not told a time or even if it would be delivered, I was again not home. I finally got my jacket back later that day. They did a good job cleaning the jacket which is why I gave them two starts but the communication was absolutely unacceptable. I had seen other negative reviews on Yelp but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt anyway. I hope that this brings more light to the problem so that it can be properly addressed and resolved for future customers if they are lucky enough to get any more. read more

The entire experience was a waste of time and money. First, when they picked up my laundry I found several of my towels were dropped by the stairs of my apartment. When I reached out to customer service I got NO response. Second, they delivered less than half my order on the scheduled delivery date, and all they said was, "sorry for the inconvenience."
