    The company stepped up to the plate on the issue. Why the store manager couldn't settle this on the spot is what mystifies me.

When I went on The Laundry Spot's website I saw that they offered this service so figured I'd give them a try. I had a few questions so I called the number listed on the home page of the website, and the woman who answered referred me to another number for the pick up and delivery service which turned out is also listed if you click on the "delivery" link. I got an answering service and left my contact info and within minutes, James the owner called back and answered my questions and walked me through the process of setting up an account so that I could do the online scheduling myself. There were 3 convenient windows of times to select from for both pick up and delivery so I scheduled pick up between 8am-11am on Tuesday and delivery during that same timeframe the next day. I got a text a minute or so prior to them arriving both times and they were both within the scheduled timeframes. Since the home was unoccupied those days, I was able to text them the temporary door code I set up remotely and allow them to pick up and drop off inside in the entry way. The laundry consisted of two full sets of bedding, several towels dish towels, etc. All came back perfectly clean and nicely folded. Online I was able to select the type of soap (or even provide my own if desired), optional softeners, and add any specific instructions such as cold water, gentle cycle etc. I am so thrilled to have found this service! Since I'm a big fan of USEFUL technology, I'm very happy that I can do all of the scheduling from my smart phone, including paying the invoice. I was initially apprehensive about providing my credit card info and wanted to be sure the info was encrypted and secure. The owner, James, patiently explained to me that he's partnered with a few different technology platforms in order to make it possible to do all of this online, so it's all very secure and tested. One thing to note: because of the way the various platforms are linked, you see different URLs when you schedule versus looking at your account versus payment, but after it's set up it's a piece of cake. And best of all, the laundry comes back beautifully clean and nicely folded without me having to do a thing (I have back problems) so this is a wonderful solution for me. And the pricing is incredibly reasonable. I highly recommend trying this laundry service and supporting a great local Austin business!

I didn't know laundromats were for rich people now. This is a shame because I've been coming here for years.

I had a dress dry cleaned which cost me a total of $50.06 after tax. My first time experience was the same as my second. This woman had a very mean mug on her face ... she asked me questions I didn't know the answer too as I'm not familiar with clothing products & how they're supposed to be washed and became frustrated with me. I decided that it would be best to leave the dress there as I needed it for an event the following weekend. Upon pickup I was greeted by a different woman who was much more bubbly, kind, and made me feel like a welcome customer. I paid, analyzed the dress and was super happy. I decided to leave the bad taste of the woman behind as I understand people have their days.. I went in again as I needed two shirts dry cleaned.. I was again greeted by the woman with the mug on her face, I kindly asked how much it would cost me to have the shirts dry cleaned and she told me $28 a piece, I was fine with that but she was demanding that I now pay upfront... (I was in a different car so I didn't have my wallet - fully aware that's my fault.) I began to mention how I had just recently gotten dress dry cleaned and that I could pay upon pickup and she because super aggressive stating that if "I can't afford to pay now there will be no service." I kindly grabbed my shirts and left. I had no problem running home grabbing my wallet and returning but after being spoken too like that I decided I didn't wanna spend my money here again. It saddens me that all it takes is one bad apple to ruin the whole experience.

I was told I would get a call on the status of my missing clothing and never heard back. When I called, the Manager yelled at me on the phone telling me she "did not have time for this". It has been two weeks and I have not heard anything from them. I went to the location and they handed me a piece of paper to fill out about my missing item that I have to return to the store. I am so beyond frustrated with the lack of customer service from this company. They don't even have a phone number that I can call to make a complaint.

We dropped off two articles of clothing and received a receipt. When we went back to pick up the clothing a couple days later, my wife was told her clothes were not there. She was treated rudely by the employee in charge and was made to feel as though it was her fault that the clothes were missing. She brought back the receipt the following day to see if they could use that to find the clothes, and they still could not find them. Meanwhile, both the manager and her boss continued to tell my wife that if she could not identify the brand of her clothes, they would not be able to find them and she was out of options. (She had purchased them from a store that sells many different brands of clothing and therefore did not remember the specific brand.) They refused to take responsibility for over $200 of lost clothing despite the fact that we had a receipt that verified the exact date and time the clothes were dropped off. Then, one of the employees lost the receipt my wife had left with them so they could find the clothes and then blamed my wife for losing it, saying she never gave it to them in the first place. I understand things happen. Stuff falls through the cracks and even good businesses mess things up. But a good business is going to take ownership of their failures and do what they can to make it right, not blame their customers for their own mistakes, treat them disrespectfully, and refuse to rectify the situation - especially to customers who have been patronizing the business for more than five years. Based on other reviews, it looks like this is a pattern and unfortunately not an isolated problem. I'm planning to file a complaint with the BBB to see if we can get a reimbursement for the lost clothing, and will gladly update this review if JBC decides to make things right. Until then, my advice would be to avoid this business.

    If I could leave a 0 rating I would. I came back again (I know, 1st time shame on you. 2nd time…read moreshame on me). Trying to give them another chance. The 1st time they lost an entire order of mine and my son's irreplaceable dry cleaning. I even came in 3 days after the due date. They didn't have my name in the system even tho it was printed on my tag. ‍ Finally, after about a week they tracked our items down. The manager proceeded to haggle with me when I shared that I did not feel we should have to pay for the lost items that took forever to find. After much back and forth he finally agreed. Today, I went in to pick up a pair of pants for my son for prom. Dropped them off Monday AM at 11am. I knew they would not be back same day bc I was dropping off after 9am. I did, however, expect to pick them up Tuesday evening. The sign in the window says "one day service." I got busy and couldn't get them yesterday. I stop by today at 2:34 and she says "I'm sorry they'll be ready after 5." "But I dropped them off MONDAY at 11am. Which is definitely before 9am on TUESDAY so they should be back after 5 on Tuesday." "Sorry, (not 'I'm sorry'. Just 'sorry') you have to ask for same day." "Excuse me? Every other place that advertises same day provides same day if in before a certain time. Mine was in before 9am Tuesday. And I need those pants to finish some things for my son's dance." "Some people don't want their clothes back same day and that's why we make you ask for it." Are you kidding me?!?! That's like having to ask for good customer service iMO! There's a big neon sign that says "1 Day Service" there is not an asterisk next to the sign that says "only if you ask for it." No more Reid's! DONE!

The quality of the service is worth the price, IMO. We've been taking our clothes to this location for over 10 years and are happy with the consistency and reliability of the dry cleaning. Also, we've experienced very responsive customer service. On two separate occasions where items of clothing were damaged in the dry cleaning process (to be fair -- in the course of over 10 yrs and hundreds of items cleaned so a small percentage!) the owner himself reached out to my husband and I and replaced the items and apologized. We were honestly pleasantly surprised by the kindness and responsibility taken by the owner after our pointing out the damage. It was a no muss, no fuss interaction. Awesome. We'll keep going to Reid's as long as we live out this way!
