He was prompt, friendly, measured everything carefully, and gave us an extremely competitive bid. Our blinds came in first and he brought them right over and installed them perfectly and quickly. A few weeks later our shutters arrived and his team (family, of course) came right over and installed those just as perfectly. He spent time with my us in advance to make sure we got exactly what we wanted, every detail and option vetted and with no surprise costs. Rick installed blinds in our new house months ago and did a great job. We recently had some become stuck and couldn't open them. (These were blinds left over from the previous owners. Not ones installed by Rick.) Rick came over and fixed them in 5 mins because they weren't really broken. My wife and I were just tugging the strings the wrong way. I felt like an idiot for making him come out and "fix" blinds that someone else had installed, but Rick wasn't bothered at all. Instead he congratulated me on our new baby and didn't charge. I offered money, but again he declined. Rick was professional, personable, and if I can't give him money, then I can at least give him a good review. WOW. Rick's awesome. Very professional, friendly, and responsive. We just moved into the neighborhood and needed new window treatments for our place. We shopped around and almost went with Home Depot since that's where we got our shutters for our last place. Good thing we found Rick. He saved us a ton of money. We love our shutters. Great quality. It's the ones where you can close the bottom half for privacy, but open the top half to still get plenty of light in. He's super responsive to text and really meticulous with his work. Ok, so my review is so long overdue! Only because Rick did our shutters around April 2013 and we were so busy that we forgot to write a review till now. Overall his service was great, price was reasonable, and product is excellent. As of today, the shutters he installed for us are in excellent condition. Rick was right, it is low maintenance (haha I don't clean much) and simply just wipe towel and water; when it gets hot and by closing the blinds make a big difference keeping the heat out; the magnet on the bottom of the shutters makes closing them easily and vice versa. Although overall it's a 5 star, he did forgot to come back and correct one of the blinds in our garage as he promised to reorder for the correct size. Over time I think both of us forgot to follow up on it. Let's say even though he forgot, it didn't stop us from referring him to a couple of friends in Azusa and Monterey Park. read more

We could tell right off that he really cared about his product. He was very honest and straighforward, took measurements of different parts of the windows to make sure the shutter frame fit right, and was very responsive with followup appointments. Of the 4 companies we received quotes from, his product was very nice and his prices were right in the middle: not the most expensive and not the cheapest. What you get with Rick (that you won't get from Lowes, Costco, Budget, etc) is a dependable, hands-on owner of a small business who sells AND installs the product himself with his assistant. My aunt referred me to a DIFFT person (not Rick) who did her house, but after reading the Yelp reviews, I stumbled upon Rick's page as a "similar business" and not knowing him at all but reading the positive reviews, I gave it a try. He came to my house in Hollywood and measured all the windows and we talked about diff't options (roller shades, shutters, etc). I decided on a light filtering rollershade. This is where I got tricky: I thought about blackout, mini blinds, etc. Rick was very patient and ran multiple quotes for me. I finally settled on the original concept and from when I paid (50% through PayPal) to the date of installation was one week turnaround.
