[829] We called Rick so he can repair our 3 year old dishwasher. Rick showed up as promised and was very friendly and personable. We needed a new motor so we had to wait a few days. The part to arrive - took about 3 extra days then anticipated but if that is my biggest worry then I have it good :) The dishwasher was repaired and I no longer need to wash dishes by hand. There is a charge for his initial consolation service (his time) but it's applied to the final repair invoice if you go with him ( same thing as Sears). Once we connected in the , we scheduled service for Wednesday morning. Rick arrived promptly at the time we scheduled, identified the problem quickly, and made the repair - replacing a bad pulley. This is the technically the second time Rick has repaired something for me. First time, Ice maker wasn't working, I procrastinated for a while, finally called him. When he came out- the ice maker was actually working. Never charged me. Then it broke again- I called immediately- he came out- fixed it and it was pretty cheap. Now my oven wasn't getting hot- came out, on time, once again in my opinion, cheap for the fix. Yes it does go to VM and you leave a message, but its just him working- give the man a break people. So much better than appliance doctor- or those other repair conglomerates. Being a single female- its nice to have someone come out and not rip you off. read more

Rick was super courteous. He came on time on the day we agreed. He took one look at our moody GE washing machine, and fixed it. It was a technical issue and Rick was honest and just reset the system. Came to fix our dyer and told us he needed to order a part to repair it. Charged us $80. A month later comes with the part an installed it and the dyer still wouldn't work. He ordered another part this time it has been like a month and a half, he won't return our calls. He NEVER answers his phone you always need to leave a message so he will call you back. read more

We called Rick when our washer wouldn't drain and about a year later when our refrigerator froze over and wasn't getting cold enough. The washer he told me wasn't worth repairing. He diagnosed the problem quickly and explained simply. We really appreciated his honesty. As far as the refrigerator, he quickly diagnosed the problem as a broken defrost heater and was able to quote the entire repair and complete the repair in less than two hours. I am really uncomfortable with the service by Rick. He came to our house to fix our dryer and when it came time to pay the $225+ he insisted the he "preferred cash". We felt strange about the entire situation, but got him the cash since the job was done. Two weeks later, the dryer is blowing blue sparks through the drum. We called and called and he didn't respond to our calls. Finally, weeks later, he came back to the house and told us that now the heating element was broken. When I expressed my concern that he "fixed" the dryer only to have it broken two weeks later and how he insisted upon being paid cash, he categorically denied insisting he preferred cash for the job. While he was never rude or inappropriate in the conversation, he insisted we were not told to get cash to pay him (which we absolutely were told to do). I felt uncomfortable with the first time he was around, certainly unhappy that two weeks later the dryer is dead again (and wanted another $200 to fix the dryer this time), and am very uncomfortable that he insisted upon cash and then categorically denied doing this. He appears to be a gentleman, and I know you can't always predict if something else is going to fail on an appliance (stuff happens), but everything about this situation is massively uncomfortable. We consulted with three other appliance stores with the whole story and each one insisted we got swindled. I was surprised based on the good reviews here that this happened to us. read more

Reliable, honest and competent. Our washer appeared to be leaking. Rick returned my call, came that day and after checking things out, explained that the water leak came from a plumbing problem. He explained the problem thoroughly. He didn't charge us for the service call since there was nothing there for him to fix. I appreciate that since I expected to pay for his time. I have been a customer for 20 years..have given him all my business,all my family and friends....and even commercial business...he never charged a service charge....I had a little standing water in my dishwasher...it ended up being from a little residue from my dish detergent if maybe I soaked a pot first. and didn't rinse it well..I didn't know..it builds up ..causes bubbles and foam so the water doesn't drain completely...he ran my rinse cycle...literally turned the dial 3 times...and charged me $69.95......I was appalled.....I could have done that myself...BUT my bad..for not asking what the cost was...then I would have known it would have cost me $70 for him to walk in the door...learned my lesson.....will never use him or recommend him again...plus he's too full of himself for me..... read more
