I spoke to Gary on the phone about a couple of trucks that I was interested in...told him I would probably drive up the next day. He informed me that he would be off but Andrew would assist me. I drove an hour and half the next day to look at two different trucks. Andrew was very friendly and helpful. The process went very smooth. I was in and out in a matter of hours. The only complaint that I have is after the fact. It became obvious to me that the garage, Taylors Tire, that does the work for Rick's used cars either misleads them about the work performed or just doesn't know how to properly repair and service a diesel. Other than a few minor issues that should have been discovered before selling, I am fine with everything else. My only suggestion would be to pay closer attention to detail after having work done on the vehicle or find another garage to complete the work. I would buy from Rick's used cars again...I would just be more thorough myself when inspecting the vehicle that I'm about to purchase. BUYERS BEWARE we work to hard for the money we have to deal wit this place Bad experience truck ran good on test drive check it out and purchased it next day screen went out OK let's fix it it 9 years old no problem, then 2 days later the 9 year old truck with 12 year old tires one blows out OK let's replace them, 2 weeks later engine start acting funny OK let's check it out well the lucus diesel oil stbilizer was masking a rod knock now im replacing a whole engine less than 2000 miles after purchase, then the salesman said we will do whats right, bam never hear from them again if you buy from here please have a lawyer on hand its not worth it hope this helps someone avoid an experience like me.... read more

If you do decide to purchase a car from here, I highly recommend having an attorney on speed dial. We bought a car from this dealership less than a month ago. We had an awesome experience buying the car with Blaine, but it's been a 21 days of hell since we left the lot with the car. Now the car's check engine light is on, it is turning off while driving, and randomly stops accelerating. When we went back to the dealership to discuss the issues we were having, we were told that "however we bought the car is how the dealership had it" and "things breaks every day so there's no way the dealership sold a broken car". Overall, avoid Rick's Used Cars at all costs. The cars drive well for a test drive, and the staff are super kind until the check clears then you're on your own after dropping $14k on a car with issues the dealership shrugs a shoulder at. read more

My wife and I recently - December 2023 - purchased a 2014 Jeep Patriot from Ricks Used Cars. I started my searches in the online AutoTrader website and I submitted a query to Rick's via the website about the vehicle. Blaine, of Rick's sales office quickly responded to my query. We established email contact (my preference as he offered phone and email contacts) and I gained more info and decided to go with my wife to check out the vehicle and make a test drive. Blaine met us at Rick's Used Cars, which was VERY easy to find, spitting distance off of I-40 in Greensboro. Blaine has a very relaxed personality and was not at all pushy as some auto sales reps can be. He was very helpful, provided clear vehicle information, and then quickly got us on the road for a test drive. Rick's Used Cars had the vehicle in excellent condition, to include new tires, correct fluid levels, thoroughly cleaned, etc. We decided to purchase the vehicle, and Blaine worked with me on a trade-in, final out the door pricing, and I left a cash deposit in order to return several days later from Durham to complete the purchase. Throughout the process I saw Blaine as more of a partner in our vehicle inspection, test drive and purchase process. I have purchased seven used cars previously in my life and Blaine made this one the most pleasant and transparent of my now eight used vehicle purchases. Pissed would be an understatement. I worked with Matthew, Andrew, and GM. I had a buyer order. I had a rental car set up. I took off of work. I had everything planned to drive 6 hours for a vehicle. They sell it out from under me. After I pick up my rental and paid for it. After I had the loan. After 7 days. They take a deposit that was not offered to me within an hour of me about to leave. This is not right. This is not a ho you want to do business with. I'm driving from Atlanta to Greensboro for this shot ass dealership who would get everything together to drop it for someone who came in within an hour. My experience was not a good one. They messed up my insurance on my trade in after deciding they didn't want it because I did not have the title to my trade in but that can be looked up. There was a grey haired man who profiled me from the time I walked in to the time I left and even made remarks to my Mom. He questioned me twice about a specific incident on my credit and told me he would love to sell me the car but is unsure because I had fraud on credit from another car but have two cars paid off. On top of that he accused my car having a lean on it and called the wrong bank and told me that he was on the phone with the DMV when really he called Piedmont Advantage and the lean was on my aunts house. I thought my car had a bad battery but the cables for the battery were fried and I found this out after I replaced the battery. Found the car I wanted and had to go thru hell and high water to get it but I won't forget how I was profiled at this place read more
