My wife and I frequent this Ricky's, and I also like it for business meetings. In my experience the food has been good, the portions are large and the customer service has been attentive but not overwhelming. All in all, the value for dollar is above the normal Calgary experience. I have a hearing impairment, and find that many restaurants are difficult to talk or have meetings, however this restaurant is not overly loud, making it easy to have a conversation. I will continue to be a customer here. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE!! HAIR IN TWO OF THE DISHES WE WERE SERVED! If there was an option for no stars I put it. our veggie pattie had a hair baked into it and egg also had a hair litteraly baked into it. The manager was very unsympathetic and unapologetic. she took no accountability "claiming because the pattie was outsourced that it wasn't there fault" . to serve food like this is a complete violation of CIFS certification and should be taken seriously. if you are unable to serve food without hair in it you shouldn't be in business. read more

The place looks fantastic, but there is something off with the lady server. I felt like she doesn't like me for some reason. The old man who seated me was polite but the lady server seems like she doesn't like what she's doing. I usually come to a diner for the experience and all it takes for me to tip is a little friendliness regardless whether the food is good or not. But I never felt unwelcome like this before. This was on July 26, 2023 @ 10:30am. read more

The service here was terrible, I waited a few minutes to be seated, then asked for a quiet area to sit to enjoy breakfast, which I received. Once directed to the table I immediately asked for a coffee to start my morning and it took over 5 minutes to come out and of course no sugar on the table. My order was taken by another female server, however she seemed to struggle with a modified order that was simplistically explained to her. I saw another server topping up other customers and he bypassed me after I waived in his direction. My server came over to see to let me know my order was coming out, however I asked for a refill, then she started talking about my meal order. My meal arrived and I then noticed a strand of hair wrapped around the fork, simply gross, so I ended up grabbing another set of cutlery. The server came out to check on my meal, and I showed her the strand of hair around the fork, she took it and offered a simple apology. The eggs benedict was very average in taste, I've had much better in the past at this location. After looking at my receipt, I cannot believe that I paid $3.39 for coffee and received just one refill, the cup is 6oz, so I overpaid for coffee, received substandard service and a dirty fork. I highly doubt I will return, and look forward to finding a new breakfast place in the area. read more

First time at Ricky's, what you can expect here are the regular dishes like, pulled pork, ribs, prime rib sandwich etc. done right. serving au jus with the prime rib was a plus but i inhaled the sandwich. our server was nice. They don't give straw with water unless you ask for them. Washrooms were clean, thats a good sign. read more

Ricky's All Day Grill - Philly steak. Very good. And crispy fries were cooked perfectly. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Calgary, Alberta

New modern restaurant, food was served hot fast and tasted great. Went there with our three kids, two of which ordered from the kids menu. The kids cheese macaroni is a very small portion size and not recommended. The kids lasagna was a decent size but seemed to lack any meat in it. Our oldest had the chicken and waffles, order size was more than enough and was delicious. My wife had the Greek wrap and fries which tasted fine enough but lacked some tzatziki and was wrapped a little loose and made it slightly messy. I had the mega mushroom omelette which was plenty big enough and paired with the shredded hash browns was perfect. Overall nothing here to stop you from coming, but like most restaurants, there are always some little things you wish could have been better! read more

Ate here this am. Family of 4 with 2 kids. We were hardly greeted when we came in. Not one person working there had a smile. We felt like we were bothering them by being there. We ordered our food and it arrived in good timing however the kids meals were below par for portion. Both of my kids were still hungry after finishing their own food. Portion size was comparable to what you would give a 2 year old. Also our eggs were under cooked and if the server bothered to come around we would have had the chance to tell her. She saw we were done and brought the bill. All in all it was decent food but the customer service was garbage. read more

A standard breakfast place that serves good food. Enough variety on the menu without overwelming people with choice. The proxy to work when I am in town help so I can see myself coming back here. read more

Best breakfast place in the area service was excellent and food came out in a timely manor

The food was good and the price was right for what we ordered but the service was so slow! It wasn't very busy at all but we waited a long time for everything from drink orders to our bill. We may try another location next time. read more

Took 45 minutes to get my lasagna during lunch hour (everyone else on the table got their orders). They told me they forgot my order. No apologies, charged me full price regardless. Couldn't eat much of the lunch because I was going to be late to a meeting. read more

Had breakfast with family and friends. The food is typical line cook food, and the coffee is weak. BUT, the service from Karen our server was awesome. And that is really what makes these breakfast outings awesome. And so she gets Ricky's 4stars. read more

Went here for the first time this Sunday around 12pm. There was no line and many empty tables, but we waited around 10 minutes to be greeted and seated. Drink orders were taken and delivered promptly. Server didn't return for 20 minutes afterwards to take meal orders. The food arrived in a good amount of time but was completely cold (though it may have been good if it was even remotely warm, cold eggs - bleh), and the server never came around to check on us even once. When he finally did come around we asked for the bill immediately and he still never asked how anything was. The only good part of the experience was the restaurant was clean and drinks were kept refilled by other wait staff (not our server). We won't be returning or recommending this place to anyone. First impressions last! read more

First world problems, I get it. Worse treatment ever. Was there 20dec2015 for breakfast. Seated immediately. Waited about 10 minutes for my server to arrive as she needed to serve the family of 4 first, who arrived after us. Took another 10 minutes before she took our order. In the meantime I had to go an get the server so she could refill my coffee cup. Our food arrived 50 minutes after arriving and it was delivered to the table sitting next to us. The food was cold (my husband's) and looked disgusting. The hollondaise sauce was greasy and off colored. I asked the server if the kitchen was having issues and the standard response was sorry, i can get a manager. The family of 4 decided to speak with the manager and that was a loss. Things got very heated between the manager and customer. Manager simply stated the delay was because of what they ordered. Manager also took no ownership of how poorly his restaurant was working. Somehow I don't think eggs and pancakes take almost an hour to make. Servers in other areas provided service on time, so it could be the kitchen that was the problem or it could be the actual server. The family of 4 ended up walking out on the bill, which I should have done too. However the nice side of me convinced me to pay the bill. WILL NEVER EVER RETURN HERE AND WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION TO ANYONE!!!!!! read more

I've been to the new Ricky's on McKnight twice now. The first time, I had the radical bacon cheeseburger. I think it may have been the best burger I've ever eaten. My dinner companion also had this burger and loved it. The second time I had the perfect prime rib sandwich and just realized I didn't get the cheese it is supposed to come with, but aside from that it was delicious also. Tender beef with a yummy horseradish aioli and tasty au jus. My companion had the radical bacon burger and enjoyed it immensely. The only thing that wasn't impressive in both cases was the service. Both times I went our waitress was not friendly or attentive but the delicious food mostly made up for that. read more
