My co-workers and I got here at around 8 AM on a Friday morning. There were around 20 of us and only one waiter but he was a trooper, never missing a beat with refilling everyone's coffee and taking our orders in a timely manner. If you have read my reviews before, you might remember that I have a waffle fetish - particularly for thick Belgian waffles. Thick, warm, and crispy with that perfect golden hue and covered with hot mixed berries. And syrup. Anyway, Ricky's provided me with the safe, healthy, and judgement-free atmosphere to indulge in my waffle idolatry. I don't write reviews, but i made an account for this. I came in here for some breakfast. But that turned into a nightmare quickly. We got there at about 10:55am. We were seated quickly but that nice experience stops there. We waited over 45 minutes for our order. During this time, the table beside me complained to me he wait about an hour. On top of that, the table behind him got their food after him, even though they ordered first. (They were so angry that they got served cold food and left） Meanwhile buddy had to go work across the parking lot at Fomoso's because we waited a ridiculously long period of time. So he canceled whatever he ordered and left. I felt bad, so i stayed but they cancelled the wrong thing and brought me the "canceled" order wtf! She tried to pass it on to me to try it. Well if i wanted to try it I would've ordered it. Your not my mother to tell me what to eat. Anyways i left and with 5 minutes left before tim hortons shuts their breakfast down, i was able to snag a breakfast bagel belt. And that was delicious! I was going to give this rickys one star but the waitress was nice enough and i got to take a nice morning crapper. Will come back if under new management. read more

This is a smaller location of Ricky's located in the Namao area. The quality of the food was pretty much whatI have come to expect from Ricky's - a decent portion size and just a little bit greasy. Service was all right, even though our server had trouble understanding my order and brought me bacon on my meal (two eggs, hash browns, and toast) even though I specifically said no meat. I have always been reluctant to try this Ricky's as every time we pass on the way to weekend grocery shopping they appear to be slammed with customers and I can see people standing near the doors waiting to be seated but my dad wanted to do a family brunch here recently so I sucked it up and went. Much like I expected the wait for everything seemed to be long. There was a wait to be seated,wait to place drink orders,and a long wait for food. The server was alright but seemed like she was very flustered dealing with the crowds. We had to repeat our orders several times to her before she seemed to understand and her speaking voice was as quiet as a mouse which was hard to hear over the noise of the crowded restaurant. When we finally did get the food (around the 40 minute mark) it actually did come out tasting really good. The salads were really fresh and my buffalo chicken wrap was delicious with just the right amount of hot sauce. I think that the issues boil down the fact that this is a small Ricky's location and they aren't equipped facility wise as well as staff wise to deal with big weekend crowds. Would I try it again? Maybe...but it certainly wouldn't be my first choice and I would never come back on a weekend. read more

Third time eating here. It's not a bad place for breakfast. The edging on some of the tables are repaired with Rickys stickers rather than being glued back on, but in general the place seems well kept. The owner/manager is usually walking around in some form of suit checking up on things. Today was a bit of an exception to the generally good experience. The "Supreme Commander" pizza crust tasted of a mix of plastic and charcoal, and has a lingering aftertaste more than an hour later. The owner/manager also began to verbally berate a server in earshot of the whole restaurant, which garnered many people's attention. Half walls are not sound proof, and whether or not you have an issue with a staff member, there are better places to raise the problem. In front of your patrons is not professional. I'm on the fence about coming back for lunch or dinner service. I doubt I'll try the pizza again, though I am curious if mine was just a one off, as the toppings and all the rest were fine. It's the staff here who really ruin the experience. As soon as I came in, I was seated by the stairs when there were much nicer booths available, but okay... I wanted to order a non alcoholic beer and the waiter had no clue if they had that so he went to check and suggested a glass of water in the mean time. He came back without water and reported that my beer was not available. I ordered a milkshake and when it arrived a burger with a salad. After the burger arrived the servers kept checking on me far too frequently to the point where I felt very observed and just wanted to leave. It was impossible to just enjoy myself in peace with them pacing around and sticking their heads around the corner constantly. I felt like they wanted me to f*ck off... The servers really lack formal training and etiquette and it shows. The decent burger and the somewhat bitter tasting salad can't fix that. read more

Decent breakfast options. I ordered scrambled eggs with pancakes and stuffed hash browns on the side. Pancakes were decent, but a bit on the thin side. The scrambled eggs were just ok. I liked the stuffed hash browns (think a baked potato with the works but in hashbrown form). Service was friendly, almost too friendly. Our waitress checked in on us almost every 10 minutes which was a bit overkill in my opinion. Not my first choice for breakfast food, but not terrible either. read more

Went here this morning for a late lunch. I always loved Ricky's and the all day breakfast. I ordered the BC Benny with the extra Benny. It's a extra $3 for one more but if you only want one they give you $2 off. A little odd to me. My GF ordered the cream of mushroom soup. When the meals came her soup was all over the outside of the bowl. It looked like they used the bowl to scoop the soup up and didn't clean it. Or was very strong tasting mushroom soup also. My eggs Benedict was horrible!! The hollandaise tasted so bland and cold. I was never asked how I wanted my eggs cooked and they were very under cooked to the point the white was runny. After 3 bites I found a long black hair under my hashbrowns and Benny. As the waitress was almost impossible to find I had to stop another waiter. He said sorry and took it away. 5 minutes later my waitress came and made a joke about the hair in my food. Never even said sorry. When my new food came out it was awful. The hashbrowns were fridge cold and the eggs were brown. At the end my waitress never said sorry or even offered a discount on the terrible food. We waited 10 minutes for our bill but couldn't find the waitress. So we decided to stand at the hostess station. We were ignored for another 5 minutes before we finally had to walk and find her. All in all it was completely horrible and I'll not be going back. I wouldn't ever recommend this place and that sucks as I used to love the downtown location. read more

We went with a Groupon and were told that only the burger or ginger bowl with substitute was available. It took ten minutes for her to take our drink order. Our milkshake was disgusting. The whipped cream tasted like rotten fish and the "shake" was chocolate milk and crushed ice. It was literally so disgusting. My husband's burger was so bland. His fries were okay but there were barely 15 of them. My ginger bowl was like a typical not even close to Asian tasting white man made ginger food. It was on minute rice. At least it looked nice I guess. It took 6 minutes to get the bill while waiting up front. There were only 3 other tables of couples in there. She handed me the debit machine and walked away. Excellent service here today. There was only 2 servers and 1 cleanup person with a full restaurant. We didn't have to wait long for anything, even coffee refills came more than once. The main waitress was clearly very organized and had everything under control. Hope the management appreciates her as she is a big asset to their restaurant. Food was good also. read more

We use to eat here every weekend but service has gone down hill. Food takes a long time to come out and it's hard to find your server in such a small place. They are usually hiding in the kitchen area. read more

I would give it a 5 star review because my experience was just that, a 5 star experience! Went here for lunch today with my 2 year old, mom , brother and sisters . We were greeted right away with a smile, and did not wait for a table ( wasn't busy anyway).. Our waiter was really nice and very cooperative and helpful. Our food came in a good timely manner ( I'd say maybe 10 mins) ( we ordered a lot) and the food was real good, not greasy or anything. I will def. be coving back.. This was our first time at this new location, but we thought we'd give it a shot. The place was busy at about 2pm but someone came to greet us right away. We asked for a booth, and he said he would clean the only open one for us and be back shortly. Aft er 2 minutes he came back and seated us. The server was friendly and very good. The food came out after about 25 minutes (not slow, but not fast), but it was worth the wait. Everything was really well done and very tasty. We'll be back for sure. read more

First, we ordered the same breakfast. Then were given the wrong breakfasts one missing the sausages . Waiter was not really helpful. Told us that that we ordered the picture above what we actually ordered. Toaster must be broken because we basically got bread. The people next to us complained about the hollandaise sauce,being quite gross. We told the management what had happened. The waiter came back and offered what we had ordered to take home. Went to Ricky's in eaux Claire tonight & tell me who serves eggs with GREEN in them? I cook sunny side up eggs every day, I know what they look & taste like & there was mold in my egg (yes I do have pictures) Not to mention they were cold, when I asked the server (who barley understood what I was saying) who the manager or boss was she said she was the manager of the night. She took a whole $2 off our bill when we only ate not even half our plates of disgusting food, my boyfriends sandwich was also completely just fat. I now feel sick & will be doing something about this. She still made us pay & this was not worth the money, We payed $32 for shitty & not cooked food. want my money back & I intend to get it. I came here about a month ago for lunch with my husband and our newborn baby, it was the first time the three of us had been out together since the birth. The staff at Ricky's was very accommodating, the hostess sat us in a section where there weren't any other customers so that it would be quieter. When the server took our drink order she asked if we would like some hot water to heat up a bottle. Apon first entry the smell was intolerable! It smelled like hydrochloric acid ( I used to work with the stuff ). I have no idea what that smell was about, but anyways, I ordered the 2 soft eggs benindict with ham and I asked the waitress to add sun dried tomatos. The food arrived after about 10 minutes, and it was terrible. The hollandais sauce was terrible, it was a thick congealed looking layer over the egg that tasted nasty and its colour was off. The eggs were raw ( egg whites still clear ). And, their was ham on 1 English muffin, but not the other. But worst of all, instead of sun dried tomatoes, they put FRESH tomatoes directly on top of the english muffin resulting in a gross soggy bun. After confronting the waitress, she admitted to her mistake of hearing "tomatos" and assuming it was fresh, which would be understandable if their were more than 4 tables occupied. The shredded hash browns will literally kill you if you are not careful. They are a soggy wet mess and drenched in butter, seriously, it was like eating a cup of oil after 1 bite and of course they weren't crispy, just gross and inedible. All in all, spending $14 for the garbage they served me is a joke, and they are a horrible establishment. My family and I wanted to eat some brunch and thought what better place than Ricky's since they can accommodate our little ones and seat us in a booth. I was very hungry and was looking forward to eating the 3 cheese omelette with mushrooms but to my disappointment the eggs tasted like they were cooked in something plastic in the microwave. It's was a very strange dish washer soapy plastic infused taste I was so grossed out and only ate the hash browns with toast that it came with. I ordered my kids a bowl of fruit (which honestly for the size you get should be priced at $2 than $6) with french toast which was tasting okay. Overall this is the first time I have been grossed out by eating eggs and the first time they've tasted so horribly. I would give this place one star but decided on two because our waitress was nice and treated the kids to some stickers after we ate. read more

Went here last night with my family, first thing I noticed was the smell.. it was awful, like the inside of a poorly cleaned restroom. It got worse every time someone would walk in. The food wasn't terrible but not great either. They were nice enough to offer my 15 month old a baby plate of mashed and gravy. Fries were hot. This place is DIRTY we went to have a bite to eat and immediately were disgusted by the dirty menu, dirty cutlery and dirty table in general -we ordered our drinks and it was taking a REALLY long time the waitress was pretty rude- thankfully during this time we realized how dirty this place was and just got up and left having completely lost our appetites. Hubby and I went to this location for a bite to eat this afternoon and will never be back. First of all the place was dirty. The floor under our table was filthy with silverware, dirty napkins, peanut butter and crayons. Finally got coffee but had to wait for cream. Got food but any one that knows anything about working in a restaurant knows that the salad comes before the hot food. Also we had to wait for our silverware mean while our hot food is getting cold. My husband ordered breakfast at which the potatoes were barely cooked and the toast was not toasted. We should have walked out. Need less to say no more Rickys for us they have gone down hill. Horrible service! I will never come back again to this place. I have never been so angry at a place. It took us half hour to get our drinks. And we had to get up to get our refills and they totally walked by us with the coffee the entire time, but others got served around us. And an hour to get our food? It's ridiculous. They say they wanted to bring it out all together, but an hour to make eggs and toast? Really? No excuses. I have been to many restaurants and never had to wait an hour for food even when we are in a big group. Even when we asked how long it would take for us to get our food they said they would check, but we watched. They would go into the back then come out and start serving coffee to other people. Totally ignoring us. People who came in after us got to eat before us. The table behind us got awesome service they were seated after us and given many refills and gone before we got our meal. When we finally got to talk to our waitress again we told her that it's been poor service and when our we getting our food cause we are ready to leave. Our meal showed up within a minute and they even got the orders wrong and they missed items (they were not complicated orders for example I had chicken strips with fries and asked for a side of gravy. Never got my gravy). All in all it was extremely poor service and to be ignored for no reason was incredibly rude considering we were very patient during the entire time till the end even with the poor horrible service. It was easy to see they picked their customers to treat nicely and ignored those they felt were too much effort like the tables with 4 or more. We asked to speak with a manager. 3 people surrounded us. One seemed to be the manager, but could tell she was looking to an older woman for the answers.
