Looking for a diner experience with top notch food and a lot of it for a fair price? You just described Rockin' Robyn's to a T! We would go back in a heartbeat, just need to sleep off the food coma for a while. It's bright and airy in spite of the smallish space and the amount of booths and tables, oh and you can sit at the counter. The walls and ceiling are covered in memorabilia, concert banners and what not. The place was absolutely hopping at 12:45 PM, but we were sat in a booth right away. Waters dropped moments later, asked if we needed coffee, tea or whatever else you wanted to drink. Our server was fantastic, explaining and educating us as we were first timers. The food came out piping hot very quickly and our tea ordered after the food was dropped came in a large teapot and hot just like at home. The clubhouse, which I did not have, has house made ham and turkey according to our server. My corn beef had slices of corn beef that did not taste house made, but the sheer volume of meat I couldn't finish, the eggs were cooked perfectly. the food taste like sh*t and gave me diarrhea, the food tasted like it was deep fried 3 times. Found a long black hair in my gravy, along with a pube hair in my salad. The Saskatoon berry pie tasted like a refrigerator and really stale. I was in the bathroom and i saw a cockroach run by the garbage. This establishment needs to be shut down or evaluated immediately. We came here on a holiday Monday after an hour and a half hike in cool fall weather. We wanted something comforting and filling and our breakfasts hit the spot. The corned beef has had mashed potatoes which is different from what I'm used to but it was tasty nonetheless. My husband substituted the pancakes in his meal for pan fried potatoes. The place was super busy even though it was around 2pm and was still packed when we left. They seated us quickly as we were willing to sit at a table but we could've waited for a booth. The servers were friendly and fast which was perfect for us as I needed to get to an appointment. It's a relatively small restaurant with many patrons. It's definitely got that old diner vibe which is always fun once in a while. If you're looking for a solid, traditional diner experience, you can't for wrong with Rockin' Robyn's. read more

This is an update to my previous review. I've been here twice this summer and the service was excellent both times. We were here at around 11:00 am on Wednesday and we still had to wait for 10 to 15 minutes for a table. This is despite the fact that there is presently road construction out front that completely blocks access from Mayfield Rd. That's how popular it is. The breakfasts are reasonably priced with most items under $20 and many options under $15. My wife ordered the breakfast bagel and said it was really good, although messy. The coffee is better than average for a cafe. All and all I would highly recommend Rickin Robyn's for groups of four or less. read more

Amazing diner in Edmonton. Rockin' Robyn's diner has lots of seating but it is just so busy, for good reason ! The menu has so many different options. The staff are extremely friendly and they try their best to accomodate you if you want to add or remove anything from your plate. I had the chance to try the Coffee Crisp French Toast and it was nothing short of amazing. Also, the blueberry pancakes were delicious. Yes ! It's worth the wait to get in ! Also, make sure you use the free jukebox with classics like Stevie Wonder and Elvis which will make your breakfast more enjoyable. I will definitely be returning next time I'm in Edmonton. read more

This was a fun 50's style Dinner. The service was friendly and had a small town feel. They had a large menu with all day breakfast and gluten free options for people with dietary restrictions. I ordered the lunch special which was not on the menu. I had a grilled cheese style burger stacked high and served with a steak knife and a side. I ordered the house salad with my burger and altogether is was very filling. The prices on the menu were also very reasonable which was great since everyone seems to be increasing their prices. They also had a great selection of pie to try! I was too full from lunch but I would love to come back for a classic milkshake or a slice of pie and icecream! Visited this place today and arrived at 11:40 and was told a 30 minute wait. Eventually seated @ 12:10 as the restaurant was packed and numerous people waiting. Be prepared to wait outside or in your vehicle as no waiting room inside. The menu for Breakfast was extensive but as it was after noon we opted for lunch. Typical Diner style food. Burgers, Sandwiches, Soup, Salad, and numerous Pies as well. The servings are humongous so be hungry or prepare to doggie bag it. The food was very tasty and very affordable too. Service was very attentive and pleasant. Atmosphere was 50's style Diner with lots of interesting memorabilia to keep your eyes busy while waiting for your food. Came here for an impromptu lunch with a gal-pal on a lazy weekday afternoon. We were warmly welcomed and invited to sit anywhere we like. A cozy booth near the back seemed like just the right place. The menu had LOTS to choose from which made it tough, but I channeled my inner child and went with a grilled cheese sandwich (with deliciously fried onion rings). Easy peasy and tough to mess up. These folks have produced some of the most consistent, enjoyable, and delicious experiences my family has had the last few years. When eating there for breakfast or brunch, their breakfast dishes are always creative and well executed. More importantly for me, the staff are always patient and kind with my rambunctious children. This year for Christmas, we tried something new with their Christmas meal package. What we got was by FAR the tastiest turkey meals we could have imagined at a price we could NOT have done if we cooked it ourselves. Scratch made everything, right down to the cranberry sauce, which I normally don't even like. Everything was thoughtfully and tenderly prepared by people who clearly care about your experience. It validated the sense I always get from the dining in experience that this is a group of people who passionately care about their craft. Rockin' Robyn's truly rocks. I love this place! The 50's theme and detail throughout the diner is great and I like how the menu coincides with the same theme. Service is wonderful - always helpful and personable. Sometimes you do have to wait as it is quite popular but it is worth it. They serve an all day breakfast menu and if that isn't your thing, they have a lunch menu too. The portions are very generous. The first time I came here I ordered the 2 egg breakfast with ham and hash browns which was delicious. The hash browns were crisp but not hard, the poached eggs were done how I liked - medium and the ham was fried perfectly. My boyfriend ordered the Philli Cheesesteak Sandwich and it was huge! The sandwich comprised of two grilled cheese sandwiches encasing steak and other fixings. It came with choice of fries, soup or salad and he ordered the beef barley soup and loved it too. In addition to that we had a malt shake which was yummy! And we took 2 pieces of pie for the road - Apple rhubarb and Blueberry Sour Cream - Both so good! As I watched food go by I was impressed. I ordered a corned beef relish Gouda eggs Benedict. I asked for soft poached eggs. The eggs came out hard. I sent it back. They did not remake the plate they just replaced soft poached eggs. But they were not in place. Slid off or missed the mark. They were on the potatoes. The hollandaise sauce was not good. To much flour? I do not know, just not very good at all. As I reflect on this experience I am more and more disappointed. read more

We were glad to be able to go into restaurants again and picked this place as the first based on reviews of the breakfast. The decore is of an old cool dinner that has become popular these days. Tony had one of those big breakfasts that come on 2 plates with a bit of everything. All good, his only complaint was the sausage was not very spicy. I had the corned beef hash. It was also quite good. I think I would have preferred the similar dish that is served with chunky potatoes. The corned beef hash comes on mashed potatoes and while good. I think it was a bit too mushy. I do plan to go back. The best part of this place is they have an interesting menu with lots of original ideas. Like coffee crisp French toast. read more

We have been here numerous times for breakfast. This time we went for lunch. Fabulous little joint with fun decor. Not sure what Alice in Wonderland has to do with the place but we love the characters in the restaurant. Service last few times has been slow in refills and checking on us but it's not due to them being lazy, they are busy. We were not disappointed. I had the Rockin Robin Burger and hubbs had Cheesesteak Sandwich. We both had to take our food home as they were flippin HUGE! Look at my burger!! What a cool spot and a time warp to the 50s!! Super fun old diner decor...even old fashioned baby high chairs. There are tons of pics all over the walls of different musicians and famous people. It's fun to check out while waiting for your food. There's even a free jukebox at the back. The prices are super reasonable! We went for breakfast with our 1.5 year and there was a great basic kids menu with cheap prices. We ordered him kid sized pancakes with strawberries and whip cream...he was so stoked!! I got the two egg breakfast with bacon (4 pieces!!), pan potatoes and toast. My bacon was undercooked for my liking. I never think to ask for crispy bacon but I will try to remember next time. Big portion and only 9$! Hubby got eggs benny...he said his English muffin was overdone but still tasted good. We were just stoked on atmosphere and prices. It's not the highest quality of food. But still good. Friendly staff! A counter display full of delicious and decadent looking home made pies. I would love to go back for pie and tea or to try their lunch menu. Finally! I've meant to come here for ever. It looks just like the pictures, but is a bit smaller than I expected. Servers are friendly and super efficient. When the cooks ring that bell in the kitchen, they go runnin'! I had the meat-a-tarian scrambler and it was delicious. I would probably swap out the scrambled egg for poached next time, because I think the yolk would just add a little extra. My coworker had the crispy chicken sandwhich and almost licked the plate... it looked really great. The panfries (hashbrowns) are the star of the show. They were really amazing. This small diner is one of the best places I have eaten in months! It sure beats the bigger chain restaurants who will charge you at least $5 more for the same food and likely smaller portions. We arrived around 3PM on a weekday and found there were about 5 tables occupied. We seated ourselves in a booth and were brought menus. There's the all day breakfast menu and then lunch. Almost all the prices are under $10 (except the steak sandwich) and they offer daily specials for $9. I decided to get the clubhouse sandwich and poutine (an extra $1.50 and you can choose between crinkle cut or handcut) for $10. The food arrived hot and wow, there were lots of fries and my sandwich was piled high. It was delicious and I was able to finish about half of my food. They also have a great selection of cream pies for $4/slice but they are huge pieces. I saw a few people order pie and if I was still hungry, I would have devoured one too! What I love about the diner besides the food is the décor with all the prints and photos from the 50s and 60s. They also play great music in their choice of the satellite radio station. The servers are very friendly and hard working and refilled my water when asked. There are 2 washrooms for ladies and one for men. The ladies' room was clean. Great restaurant and definitely recommend if you are in the westend of the city. The only negative is they close at 4PM and closed on Tuesdays. read more

What a cool find on the West End, of Edmonton!! The diner has recently added some new menu items. I would say the blackberry sauce was made in house it tasted fresh and was not too sweet. Filling and delicious there was no shortage of options here at Rockin Robin Diner, the menu is massive ! The prices were beyond reasonable I E. 2egg Benni for $10!! I saw one come out and it looked pretty darn good. The $14 Huevos Diablos looked good too !! Some fun adds were the ADULT SHAKES Mango rum vanilla or butter ripple schnapps were two of six options ~ specialty coffees, beers, weekly specials and more !
