Love OEB. It's my favourite go-to breakfast place. I've tried a wide range of items and each has always exceeded my expectations.

We came here our first Saturday morning in Edmonton. Yelp waitlist and we were seated almost immediately! The service from Christopher was top notch! He made sure to let us know the area of Edmonton, and even gave us some tips on places to visit! He was very well spoken, and knew the menu well. Unfortunately, their Latte machine was down, but the food made up for that! I ordered the breakfast poutine with bacon, hollandaise, and poached eggs, and it was incredible! The music and overall feel to this restaurant is very welcoming. The only unfortunate part was having quite a few homeless people coming in and out of the restaurant, one homeless man tried walking into the kitchen and then sat in the booth next to us. I was really excited at trying this restaurant but was really disappointed. I ordered the Buttermilk Pancakes and a side of Potatoes through Door Dash. The pancakes were really dense and flavourless. I could barely get past the first bite. Tossed them out into the trash. What a waste and disappointment! Side potatoes were just fried potatoes that you would get at any deli or from your grocery freezer. They were a bit more edible. I managed to eat some. Food was good, on par with other OEB locations in the city. Service was horrendous. Our server showed up 20 minutes after we were seated to asked if we wanted waters, then had another guy bring it to us 5 minutes later. Give another 10 minutes before the original server came back to finally take our orders. During the half hour time it took for this guy to show up we saw another table by us also get ignored by the same server. But they were fortunate enough to get the attention of some other workers to get their orders in, while my partner and I sat there looking like part of the restaurant decor instead. What's even more interesting, our server was attentive and engaging to his other tables, he just couldn't be bothered to interact with us and the one other table. This local chain originated in calgary and i always had to wait over an hour to get a seatat this amazing brunch spot. I personally like this location out of all the Edmonton locations because the staff are a bit more friendlier here. Food is instagram picture perfect but also tastes amazing. I love the classic gold digga poutine which is drenched in hollandaise sauce. But I think my favourite dish is the croque madame. They use manchego cheese!!! Joined the waitlist through Yelp on a Saturday afternoon. Party of 2 and the wait wasn't long at all... maybe 2 mins! Everyone was so kind, our server Christopher was awesome!! He recommended some good local spots for us to see while we were in Canada. I ordered some fresh OJ and the classic breakfast. My scrambled eggs were incredible, the server added some fresh cracked pepper and I ate them on my sourdough rye bread! YUM!! The bacon & potatoes were SO GOOD! This is one of the finest breakfast/brunch places in YEG. It is hard to find a seat here, so I recommend making reservations. The staff is gear and super friendly. Their food is delicious and healthy. I tried A-Lott-A-Lakks bowl, potatoes were crisp, eggs were a perfect medium with a runny yolk and the salmon was delicious as always. At an easy walking distance from many downtown offices and whatnot this is a great place for a workday brunch or lunch and the food is quite good. I have been wanting to try OEB for ages.... Never seem to be able to get in, it's sooo popular. I had a weekday off and waited until after lunchtime and was able to walk in to the downtown location. It lived up to the long awaited, much ado'd expectations. The place is open airy, tables comfortably far enough apart, bright, busy, background noise but not so much that it's overwhelming, table talk was just fine. Parking on the street is paid or in a nearby parkade. The food was awesome. I had the croque madame and companion had the perogies and duck. I should mention that the water was really good, perhaps it's distilled. Portions are large. The service was lovely, friendly, attentive and efficient. While I've been to other OEB locations multiple times, I recently visited the downtown location for the first time and was happy to find out that it meets the same high standards other locations have set for me. The space is bright with high ceilings and has a great, comfortable vibe for brunch. OEB is always busy so make sure to get there early if you want to be seated right away. You can also join the waitlist on Yelp before you get there which will save you some waiting around time. The first big win for me was the pineapple grapefruit oasis drink I had with my meal. I wasn't in the mood for alcohol but this flavourful mocktail really hit the spot. I'm definitely going to try to recreate it at home. Choosing a breakfast item was a bit tougher as I am currently doing the "veganuary" challenge so options were limited but I ended up being very happy with the chia seed pudding. Even if you aren't vegan, it's a great option if you want something fruity and light. My husband enjoyed one of their breakfast poutines. Heads up to vegans/vegetarians - their hashbrowns are cooked in beef tallow by default so make sure to specifically request vegetarian potatoes when you place you order. Food was fantastic, I got a basic "Threesome". The food was made without error for myself and my table. We had two people servicing our table, assuming the young lady was still getting into the rhythm. There was some miscommunication between the servers at times. I first sat down and wasn't spoken to for 10 mins, I had asked for waters for the table and only received 2/4, our food was missing a few things which got fixed quickly, and waiting for the opportunity to ask for the bill, another 10 mins later. I feel they may need more support from a manger, it felt like they were being rushed and unable to connect with our table properly and effectively. Both servers were LOVELY! I came for brunch on November 11 with my mom. I was glad to see they were open on this holiday as many places are closed that day. We were celebrating my birthday so it was definitely a treat to eat here. Practically everything the cook is cooked in duck fat which makes the food taste absolutely amazing! We got the Florentine Benny (vegetarian) and The One That Did Not Get Away (smoked salmon) Benny. We shared them so we each got one of each. Needless to say they were both delicious!! I personally enjoyed the vegetarian option better but I still liked the smoked salmon as well. The egg was perfectly poached too! We had coffee, they did not have oat milk but they did have almond milk which is great. We also ordered mimosas which were delicious and they had several flavours. Overall it was a delicious treat to eat here. They do have "healthier" options as well if you're not into the duck fat but for me that's part of the joy! The duck fat frites are delicious, especially with the egg yolk! The best part? You can make reservations or sign up for the waiting list right on your Yelp app! We had made a reservation and thank goodness we did because the restaurant was busy and there was a line of people waiting outside. Luckily we arrived and were shown to our table right away, no waiting. It was a great experience, friendly service as well. read more

Today is our twins' 21st birthday so I selected OEB Breakfast for our meal out. We started out at 10:00 while watching the Yelp waiting list tool. It said immediate seating until we were half way and then suddenly it said there was a 15-20 minute wait. My wife quickly added her name to the list. We arrived around 10:30am and were told the wait would be at least 20 minutes. The fellow managing the list seemed to be very efficient. Eventually we were assigned a table that comfortably handled the five of us. Water and coffee arrived quickly which allowed us to focus on the extensive menu of unique sounding dishes. I decided on the Waffle and Duck which was $20. My son ordered the Rabbit Benny for $19. Their grandmother ordered the Waffle and Laks (Smoked Salmon) which was $21. However she found it to be a bit dry and asked for some syrup. They added $2.50 to the bill for her syrup which was surprising. I enjoyed my duck but here too a bit more syrup would have been nice. Overall we each enjoyed our dishes but mine was probably the best of the lot. The flavour was not as spectacular as the appearance but they were still tasty and satisfying. If you don't need coffee with your breakfast you might want to consider heading next door to Credo for a very deluxe coffee as OEB's coffee was mediocre at best. However, the coffee mugs were large and my cup never reached critically low levels as the service was very good. During breakfast I prefer large quantities of coffee over the quality of the brew so this was not a problem for me. If you only drink the best coffee, Credo next door is your solution. I appreciated that they kept the sound levels under control so that we could enjoy a good visit and conversation. It wasn't quiet but compared to some places it sound level was reasonable. OEB was a very unique breakfast or brunch experience. I think that everyone who enjoys a special dining experience should try OEB at least once and maybe several times. read more

Horrible experience at the Kelly Ramsey location in Edmonton Alberta. Cold food, EXTREMELY slow service. Pancakes were tough and couldn't be cut through (returned them), had to ask for coffee, had to ask for water, had to ask for cutlery. Had a reservation and they didn't have the table set up for enough of us. I will NEVER return to this restaurant. Waste of $100! POOR POOR POOR! I was looking forward to a fun family time out at Christmas and it was terrible! DO NOT RECOMMEND! read more

Eggs Benny (Florentine) with duck fried fries. The eggs Florentine consisted of a avocado with a poached egg and wilted spinach and of course the Hollandaise sauce. I would Say there was nothing so special about it, the duck fries were nice and crispy. The customer service and ambiance was nice. Location wise, parking was not easy and the area has many homeless people surrounding. I would defiantly come back to this place and get the eggs done medium hard.
