Ricky's Taco's have some fantastic quality tacos... Especially for the price. The people that run the truck are very kind and professional. They recently changed locations to the corner where Babcock and DeZavala meet. It's a little further away, but still worth it. I'm a fan of their beef mini tacos. Always juicy. Always fresh. They're open 1930-0100 Tuesday to Wednesday and 1930-0300 Thursday to Saturday. (closed Sunday) They have week specials- Tuesday: buy 3 regular tacos and get one free Wednesday: 1 free mini taco with an order of 4 Thursday: burritos $6.50 (dollar cheaper) I came on Tuesday and ordered two Carne asada tacos and two al pastor tacos. The green sauce wasn't that spicy, the tacos were a bit bland as well. There was cheese in it, but I couldn't taste it. Parking is at the gas station and the truck is at the lot behind it. read more

The tacos here are perfect for late night cravings typically on the weekends; but be careful if you've had too much to drink, not only while crossing the road to get to the truck but when paying, they've overcharged my friends and I a few times thinking we wouldn't notice. Each time I go is better than the last! By far my number 1 pick after hours. Their hours are only open late in the evening till 3am I think, and closed on Sundays. I love Ricky's. It's a UTSA staple. After a long night of drinking and partying this was my spot for a while. Their hours are a little weird. Sometimes they're opened, sometimes their not. I love their carne asada quesadillas and street tacos! Their street tacos are bomb! On Wednesdays they give you one free one with a purchase. Another good thing is that it's right next to a gas station, so you can get drinks and other snacks. The service is semi quick. Calling in orders is kind of a joke. I've never had success doing so. Firstly this place is one of the gold mines of tacos late night in San Antonio, even from opening at 8pm you will most likely find their patrons waiting for the grill to be fired up. I personally have waited for 25 min to get in line for tacos and would gladly wait longer they are that good. I've always gotten the al pastor mini tacos and my god they are treat for the tastebuds. They place the perfect amount of seasoning, cheese and onion ratio and are always so warm and melty when you bite into them! I typically order two orders worth because 4 is just never enough. Normally I like this place Except tonight they were OVER charging people and hoping that they would not notice. I bought a quesadilla and was charged twice: $5.50 AND $55.50!!! Right away I noticed and I told them that they need to give me my money back! They finally gave me my money and I told everyone in line to check their bank statements. Another guy was over charged $90.00!! They also charged my friends $16.00 for a quesadilla and taco. Ridiculous!!! After they noticed that we were angry and caught on to their scam of over charging us, they said that they were closed for the night. I will never go back to this place again. It's cruel and unusual punishment to only be opened at night! :) Just absolutely amazing tacos. My go-to are the mini tacos (carne asada). It comes with white onions, cilantros, white cheese, and then a lime on the side. The meat is super tender and nicely cooked with an intoxicating taste beyond description. Beautifully seasoned but subtle so it allows the other flavors to blend into a happy dance! Even the hot sauce (green) adds to the flavors, doesn't take away from it nor overpowers it. I really like Ricky's. I live in the apartments nearby and I come often. The menu is small but I mean, who comes to a food truck for a four course meal anyway? Ok lets be honest! Ricky's has one of the most amazing street tacos! I've been going to Ricky's for years now! Even when I didn't live in SA, I would make it a point to visit when I was in town! Their mini carne asada tacos and pastor are some of the best! I only love the corn tortilla tacos, the flour ones aren't as great, but that could be a personal preference. Ricky's sauces are so tasty as well. I enjoy both the green and red. I took away a star because of the wait. Sometimes the wait will be over 30 minutes which is a bit excessive for street tacos but of course I always wait it out. If you're in SA, this truck is a place you must try!
