I was on my way home from work on a Friday afternoon. There was hella traffic on the freeway and I was hella hungry so I stopped here and I ordered chicken super burrito "con todo". It was pretty damn good. Pros: -Tasted like Abuela's old fashioned home cooking (But I'm only speculating because I'm not Mexican and don't have a Mexican abuela-but Ive had lots of Mexicans and vice versa [wink, wink] so I'm a connoisseur by now. -Very well seasoned great size/value for the price Cons: -kinda heavy on the beans in proportion to the other ingredients -neither the red nor green salsa were spicy at all -the jalapeños were "de lata" from a can. You ever have a California Burrito? They're so good & amazing. Now this place, makes the worst ones. I actually to this point didn't know you could make a bad Cali burrito because even when it's not that good the French fries make it redeemable The first 2 bites into the burrito the ends were hard and chewy might have been an old tortilla or something oh and they left it on the grill too long probably too so you start off having to bite and spit the top off of excess tortilla and a lot of it too skimped filling. You get into it and it's not tasty, so much bitter charred taste as you eat I think from the tortilla and the filling is so bland, the flavor not at all the delight you're supposed to be having as you bite into a burrito. Oh and I ordered carne asada (steak) for the meat but they gave me something else tasted like pollo but that's not even why I'm knocking it cause overall this was just not good food. I dropped by today around 3:15 pm 1/14/22 to get a carne asada burrito. Which tasted ok, of what I could eat all together. Once I got home and removed the foil the entire burrito unraveled! The flavors were just ok, nothing to write home about. The green salsa was green with a strange after taste and very thin like water. I really wanted to like this place more. Pros: the employees there are super nice and friendly. There's plenty of parking available. The star of their show is definitely the al pastor. It's so flavorful and marinated wonderfully. Definitely get that as your choice of meat for whatever you order. The burritos were also a good solid size as well. Cons: Certain meats costs more but is not noted on the menu so I felt a bit blindsided when I ordered. I got lengua tacos and each taco was $1 more cause it was considered a special meat. Made each taco almost $5 at that point. Also the lengua was so bland and flavorless; just tasted like it was boiled in water. Again, get the al pastor instead. Me and my husband always see this place and never ordered and were pleasantly surprised! I had a carne asada burrito bowl and my husband had a super chile verde and we both shared a Mangochado, everything was good! Authentic mexican nachos thank god!!! This place has the best nachos in hayward! They offer white or yellow cheese (real Nacho cheese) and they Load a bunch of meat of your choice. I got the 4x4 burrito and the first bite was good with the sauce, halfway threw the burrito I felt like the meat was tasting different and guess the burrito is so big they mixed the batches of meat and might of had an old meat added to the burrito since it's very big. But we decided to give it a try. What a great choice! The service is awesome! The lady greeted us with a big smile and made our order right in front of us. The burritos are my husbands favorite in Hayward, each bite is so good. But for me the shrimp tacos did it! The shrimp tacos are by far THE ABSOLUTE BEST I have ever had. They are MUST TRY!
