Great little hometown restaurant! Located off square in a historic renovated grocery store. Several old things- cool fridge door, pictures, flooring, "cooler" display remain in store. Friendly staff. Good food- open kitchen- can see it being made for you! Sweet tea VERY good! Agree with previous reviews- if busy, service can be slow, but worth the wait.

    Menu

Love this local place! Really good food and nicest owner. Menu offers a great variety. Recommend chicken fajita chalupas and cheese enchiladas.

Ricos Cafe is about 3 blocks north of the square in Mason. Not much atmosphere but just good homemade Mexican food and burgers.

Best Mexican food for the price I've ever been. Try it and be sure to order the homemade tortillas to compliment any entree.

We went with The French Lady Omelette (spinach, mushrooms, bacon, Brie, tomatoes and onions) and the pancake. I asked for a side of peanut butter for my pancake which our server willingly accommodated. The food was good and the service was great. Definitely worth a visit!

She was personable and knowledgeable on suggestions and made me feel right at home as she did the other times I've had her. I ended up with a California Omlette and a Nitro espresso drink. I highly recommend both delicious options. On this visit, the lady sitting next to me let me know she travels from Kerrville a lot for this spot. On other occasions, I've had Missy. She also has helped me by showing me some of her favorite drinks and plates. I am blown away at how they keep up the great service even when it is packed, and this place definitely gets full, especially on weekends. I prefer coming on a random weekday to get a break from the lines. But I will definitely wait in line for this place if I get a craving during the busy times. This place feels so laid back and looks like a cute house. On nicer days, the patio is so peaceful and they have fans all around. This is a must try spot for those unsure where to go for some amazing brunch and goodtimes.

First time at Vaudeville. We were walking by and saw that the daily special was Buttermilk Fried…read moreChicken, we are always looking for good fried bone-in fried chicken, so we went downstairs to give it a try. Vibe is euro-bistro and the staff is perfectly attentive. Prices are high, but honestly aligned to the quality of the food, at least the dishes we had were worth the prices. Food: Buttermilk Fried Chicken, with Onion/Bacon flash fried collard greens, whipped potatoes and house gravy and Jalapeno Cornbread for $32 Reuben on Marble Rye for $24 16oz Stella Artois for $10 We agreed that the fried chicken (5/5) was the best we could remember having. Whipped potatoes (5/5) were light, fluffy and perfect taste/texture. The gravy was like brown butter (5/5). The collard greens (5/5) were flash fried and if you've never had them like this, it's like eating collard green potato chips. Cornbread (3/4) was a bit too delicate and sweet for our taste. You couldn't pick it up without it falling apart. The Ruben (3/5). My wife loves a good Ruben sandwich. This one had the makings of a good one, but they use a Thousand Island sauce (too much of it) on the sandwich, and it hides the flavor of the meat. Next time we would ask for the sandwich without the TI sauce, see if that improves the rating. The sandwich came with house made potato chips (5/5), a small house salad with vinaigrette (5/5) and a large, pickled cucumber. I know, that's a pickle, but these are cucumbers that have gone maybe a third of the way through the process, so the cucumber taste is really prevalent. Lastly, we had the Creme Brulé (3/5) for dessert. It was nice, but the custard was coffee and caramel flavored, and we prefer the standard custard look and flavor. The caramel should come from the top layer, not the custard. The top layer was a bit too thick as well. We liked it, just didn't love it. Overall, quality food, service and vibe with prices that are aligned to more special occasions than everyday eating out. We'll be back to try the Monday Crawfish Etoufee and the Tuesday Duck Confit daily specials...look too good to pass up.
