The 25+ years of experience are very obvious when you meet him. He never wastes our time and gets right to the point telling us what is wrong (without adding 10 other things that "need fixing while we are in the shop"). We have saved thousands over the quotes of other shops (even the local ones) because he takes care of what needs done, and only what needs done. The work is don't right - the first time - we have never had to come back for anything he has repaired. If you are local - you are likely aware of the decline of Body by Scotty as a reliable shop (a month to even get in at rates that are RIDICULOUS - not to mention the lack of professionalism from the staff - read the reviews) and Scott's new shop isn't much of an improvement (still with long wait times and high prices). River City Automotive is the right choice - every time. They are always able to get us in right away (the longest we have had to wait ever was three days - and it was a massive job) and the don't empty your wallet. This is your new mechanic. I ended up taking it to LP vs my regular mechanics because they were near where the vehicle was, and on the recommendation of one of the trans shops I had talked to. Fun Fact: If you're replacing vs fixing, which seems to be most of what goes on nowadays, there's no reason to use a transmission specialty shop. Their rates are always higher than regular mechanics, and most regular shops can swap them fine... They just don't like actually tearing them apart and fixing them. So save yourself some money and just use your regular guy, or a shop like LP I ended up finding my own used transmission because getting a remanufactured one just didn't make sense money wise with the mileage on my rig. They were patient while I secured that and weren't trying to rush me. The guys there were cool and easy to deal with. They did the swap just fine and got my vehicle going again! They also took care of some other odds and ends I already knew about, and found out one issue I thought was one thing was actually 2 worn parts contributing to the same issue. Shop rates are reasonable compared to other places, and they did good work. I don't live near them, but would definitely take a rig back there if I ever needed to.

I had never been to Perfection Tire and Automotive before, but when reading the rather abysmal reviews for the Post Falls store of a huge chain I had intended to go to, and then the reviews for this shop, I changed course and tried Perfection. I was not disappointed! They got me in fast, even though most of their service bays had other vehicles in them, and got me taken care of while I waited. I was in and out in less than 45 minutes. The service technicians were great, the counter staff were honest and helpful, the waiting room was comfortable and extremely clean, and I was on my way much more quickly than I thought. No one tried to upsell me, which I appreciated. I had no idea that Perfection is a full service auto shop, either. I thought they were mostly a tire store.
