She explained every step, and gave us time to let Piper move on with love. We are beyond grateful for everyone at Balance Paws for making this happen. Forever Grateful.

Her decline happened quickly, so after a vet visit, it was recommended to help ease her into her next chapter as soon as possible. I called several home resources and either left voice mails, or they had very limited availability, (but all were very kind when I was able to speak to them). When I called Balanced Paws, Tina answered and was incredibly caring, supportive, and patient during the conversation as I tried to hold back my tears when she said Dr. Amy had availability the next day to come to our home. The paperwork process was simple and straightforward which was very helpful since my focus was on my little girl. Dr. Amy was so supportive, calm, reassuring, empathic, and informative throughout the entire process. She asked questions about my girl's life and showed genuine interest in the stories I shared. She let me know step-by-step what to expect, gave me as much time as I needed at each stage, and even gently reminded me of things that might alarm me such as my girl's eyes staying open even after she passed. I am eternally grateful for Dr. Amy's compassion and dedication to helping my beloved 4 legged family member, die with dignity and grace in the comfort of her home. I was also given imprints of my girl's paws, as well as a special handmade keepsake which was very touching. Thank you Dr. Amy and Tina for helping make this incredibly painful experience, a bit more bearable with your professionalism, gentleness, skill, and genuine care.

TL;DR: I would not trust Camp Bow Wow with the safety of my pets…read more My parents boarded their two small dogs at Camp Bow Wow for the very first time while we attended a family event out of state. When we picked them up that evening, one dog had a large, pus-filled wound on her face that staff described only as "a scratch." Although none of us are veterinarians, it was obvious the wound was more serious than that. The next morning, our family veterinarian confirmed it was a puncture wound that had become infected, drained the pus, and explained that it would have required stitches had it been treated sooner. Instead, the dog was prescribed a week of antibiotics. Two weeks later, the wound is healing but still not fully resolved. We contacted Camp Bow Wow to find out what had happened because no one had informed us of any incident before pickup. After investigating, management told us our dog had been injured as collateral damage during a scuffle between another dog and her companion a couple of hours before checkout. They also claimed they had called my parents to discuss the incident. That is not what happened. The only voicemail my parents received stated that both dogs were doing well and asked them to call about exit baths. They returned the call on the way from the airport, reached voicemail, and received no further attempts to contact them. When we asked why veterinary care wasn't sought--or, at a minimum, why my parents weren't notified so they could decide whether their dog should be seen--we were told the injury "did not appear to be severe enough for medical attention" and had only "occurred a couple of hours prior to checkout." This explanation was difficult to reconcile with our veterinarian's findings that the wound was already infected and that too much time had passed for stitches, despite the vet examining her less than 24 hours after the incident allegedly occurred. When we raised these concerns, management stood by their account and stated that pet owners are responsible for any veterinary expenses resulting from their dog's stay. When I asked the facility manager, Sally, about their policy for notifying owners when a dog is injured, specifically by another dog, I never received a clear answer--only a repetition of their version of events. As someone who owns my own two dogs and frequently uses boarding facilities, I understand that kennel staff are not veterinarians. I don't expect them to diagnose injuries. I do expect them to promptly notify pet owners whenever an animal is injured and allow the owner--not the kennel--to decide whether veterinary care is warranted. I also expect honesty and transparency as to when and how an incident occurred, which I do not believe we received in this instance. In my opinion, Camp Bow Wow failed to meet that basic standard of care. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend boarding your pets there.

Was told I should have picked him up when I received a call. I lived a half hour a way. When I got my little man home, he was uneven in so many places. By the way, the owner called to apologize, and I added more stars. Everyone is entitled to a bad day. Thank you for replying. Reply to your added comment : This happened on Tuesday, Dec 27th at 5 PM. Funny, you called me to apologize. Now you state that you do not know me and need the date of the grooming and will look into it? There was no offer to correct the uneven haircut that was quite expensive. I will not reply to any further comments regarding your business. Good luck. I wish you all the best.

I absolutely love these humans! My boy Yuri loves them as well. I highly recommend this business…read more They love my pet and he is always happy to go see them. I have an American Akita and he started out handsome but very particular so I can't imagine how patient they had to be to groom him. His grooming takes 3-4 hours and the hair, omg there aren't words for how much hair these dogs have. I brought my boy home once and he was itchy and I called them and without problem they re bathed him (they had tried a new shedding shampoo on him but his skin didn't like it) it was free and they got him in fast. Also I have called and they were booked out really far and I asked for the cancellation list and the next week he was in and groomed. I'll post pictures here of the different times and how great they have done. I love this business! It is also by my car wash place so while he is getting a bath I detail my car and go to Costco. Lol The pricing is perfect for me and the amount of work he requires is more than I could handle on my own and he is enormous in size. I am grateful for this business and the employees super respectful as well.

Nevertheless, our dog was last groomed 6 weeks ago. When I picked up my dog, I found that they had cut her ears all the way to the leather and shaved all the hair off her ears claiming her hair was matted. It wasn't matted, she is groomed monthly and we brush her ears. More importantly, I didn't give them permission to shave my dog's ears making her look freakish. I will never go back. Odd that a groomer would do such a thing without calling first. There are other more capable groomers in Santa Fe.

I am SO glad I followed the recommendation. My Labradoodle and I arrived when they opened, and the gentleman at the front desk spent a lot of time with me as I described exactly what I wanted, showed him pictures, etc. I figured he would think I was crazy, but then he showed me how they keep detailed notes on each animal they groom, so they can do the exact same groom each time, or tweak it according to the owner's desires. When I picked up my buddy a few hours later, I was so thrilled to see him. He looked better than he's ever looked-----even better than the photos I'd left with them. They even took the time to carefully trim his face to show off his 2 inch eyelashes. Sweet! AND.....the price was less than Barks and Bubbles. After my last experience there, I will never go back to B&B. Everyone we came in contact with at ENV was super-friendly, from the first phone contact to pick up. From now on it is only ENV for me and my four legged furbaby.
