The staff really makes the difference, as they are extremely knowledgeable and will go out of their way to help, including giving recommendations on how to handle a project if asked. They're the best thing about this place. The space itself is pretty large, and they do a great job of packing in everything from paint, to power tools, and seemingly everything in between. Not much in the way of housewares unlike some hardware stores but that's a non-factor to me. Technically affiliated with Ace Hardware which helps for their rewards program. Parking is also not bad in the Saugerties area which is helpful too (since they are on Main St). I come here whenever I need a serious hardware store for a project, and they've never let me down.

Long story short I got a custom wood milled counter top I wanted 18 in wide settled for 16 due to…read morematerial constrains. At the time I showed up to finish our transaction I trusted them and had them cut it to length. The length was great but when I got home I realized that the sides weren't cut stright and it was shy of 16 inches in many places. I called reconfirmed measurements and he agreed to replace it. Upon the second time to exchange boards; The owner flipped out forgetting one of his workers had cut the board. He was yelling and screaming at me like I did something wrong. He cussed and put of a very violent angry vibe. After realizing his mistake and also talking to my father who originally placed the order he gave us a new board but he hung up on my father. I was never apologized to by anyone. I could of went to another place but we like to support small businesses. I'd never use this place again. If you do send someone with a cool head and who can defend himself. I'd never send a women I cared about here. The only positive thing I have to say is that his helper,the younger caucasian male was very helpfu and friendly.
