Disappointed that such an awesome curated offering had potentially closed up shop, it wasn't until a few weeks later when I was in Yountville and poking around after at tasting at the JCB Atelier and Tasting Room that I happened to find them not closed but relocated to a bigger and better space in Yountville with an expanded offering. Now full disclosure, I do think of Hunter//Gatherer as more of a women's store -- that's where most of their assortment is dedicated. That said, in the new space has really allowed them to expand their men's offerings to include an awesome set of curated goods. I find the new space to be super welcoming and a bit like exploring a museum of wonders where everything is for sale. I can't help but pick up something every time I wander in... which is not infrequently since it is right behind R+D Kitchen. I also have to say I really love the team -- in particular Colby. She's always apt to share an opinion and has equally steered me towards things that I wouldn't have expected and turned me away from others that I thought could be great but she pointed out why they just weren't "perfect" for me. She really knows her assortment and makes the extra effort to know you as a person to make sure she is making a recommendation that really makes sense. I slunk around the shop hunched over from a "bad bra" and was asked by Shawnie if there was anything I needed. I asked her if she carried my size and she asked, "Have you been measured lately?". I actually had not been. I stepped into a dressing room that had pink billowing curtains almost floor to ceiling, and Shawnie measured me. It was a very successful trip in. Not only did she find my size but she made me feel empowered and very confident. Shoulders back, stand tall, face forward and my girls in a brand new GORGEOUS bra. Ladies, do not have sticker shock if you have been buying bras at Kohls or Macy's. These are beautiful bras. They are fitted by a professional. The only hiccup is, not the shop's fault. They close at 5:30. Parts of Yountville fold up a tiny bit early.

When I arrived and with an excited smile asked to see the sale section, the owner gave me an unpleasant look and said: "the hats are in the back (behind the counter), just tell me what you want and I'll see if we have it". I told her I wanted to browse the hats, she refused. She asked my size, which I did not know. What an unpleasant experience, eventually she brought out a couple of hats and threw them in front of me. All I can say is that if you want to announce a sale, then don't treat your customer who drives a good distance with such disdain. I even dressed up for the trip. I can promise you I won't darken their doorway again. Ever. My wife had been excited for me to get a nice Panama hat, and when she heard the story she called the store the next day and had a conversation with the owner (I do not remember her name), who promised to call me with an apology. Even given that chance I have never spoken with her.

I have spoken to their manager who told me that they were going to be sending out a new one. I have now called the company several times and they're not returning my phone calls. They have not sent out the replacement hat. My next step is to call the Better Business Bureau And report them.

This place has art which honors the monuments of San Francisco and the style of San Francisco on clothing. It is called Fleetwood. On a Summer stroll on Clement street I landed inside Fleetwood. Inside you will find hats and jewelry along with shirts and seaters with prints that represent San Francisco from the Richmond District to the Golden Gate Bridge to the Sunset Dunes. You will find posters with San Francisco related prints along with tote bags. Fleetwood is also an art gallery and also has screen printing workshops. This is a good place to shop for clothing that is artistic which has a connection to San Francisco. They hold custom printing classes and workshops and really give back to the city and neighborhood--a local gem! They support and carry local artists and cool designs that are like inside jokes for locals, like a love letter to SF (and the Richmond.) Trinity did a great job on every item, adjusting how she would approach the job based on the fabric, location of pockets, print, etc. I know nothing about sewing so I went with her recommendations and was very pleased with the outcome. Some items required simple hemming, others a more complex combination of alterations, and every item now fits perfectly.
