I had Janelle, my friend had a young male (don't remember name). This was by far the worst "deep" tissue massage I have ever had. She spent at least 25 minutes on my anterior neck digging fingers into my neck (WTH). Next she pinched the lower aspect of each pec major and it was painful and bizarre. But other than that, this was a great massage, and I've had plenty over the decades. A lot of therapists these days slop through the motions, but Karen really has a pinpoint, accurate understanding of the human body and I give her full props for 90 minutes of targeted, firm pressure body work. Due to working from home (first in a dining room chair then an IKEA desk chair) during the pandemic, I knew my neck and shoulders were going to need some work due to the non-ergonomic chairs and a habit of holding stress in my shoulders. Anne has a playlist of soothing instrumental music play during the massage. For me, she focused on deep tissue to relax the muscles and tendons. I walked out very relaxed and realized I had full range of motion in my neck. Amazing! I've become a regular customer since the first appointment and am so glad I asked my friend for the recommendation.
