    After 12 tumultuous years with another HVAC company who sold, installed and serviced our furnace -…read moreand then nickeled and dimed us and tried to tell us our furnace needed replacing ASAP, we found Care Heating & Cooling on Yelp and I picked them to get a second opinion based on their Yelp ratings and reviews. They came, assessed and won my trust and business. We religiously care for and service our furnace as I don't want it to fail in the dead of winter. After looking at our furnace, Care told us that they did not see a need to replace it - that it checked out tine. We also had them service the AC unit which, knock on wood, has a been a gem and never yet failed us. They not only did the service, they made recommendations on how to maximize the cool air where it was wanted by shutting off the areas where we don't need it! I wish I would have known this was possible 25 years ago! As I freeze in the north side of the house while the hubby sweats in the south side. I work from home and my office is in the cool part and his TV room is in the south. We get direct sun that heats up that room quickly. Bottom line - this company is the bomb. One I look forward to having service our HVAC needs in the future.

After getting a few quotes we decided on Pickerington Heating and Cooling aka Five Star Home Services. They had the best price but also the best warranty, company story and our best interaction with a sales person. Once we made our decision the were able to schedule the install within 48 hours. They also easily installed the smart thermostat we had purchased. The installation techs were friendly, quick, thorough and clean. We would highly recommend calling Pickerington or one of their other local branches.

I called 3 companies and set apt.'s for Monday. 1 was a company we used to service our current A/C and Heater for the last 9 pears and they have been great. The other 2 were the best rated I found that I liked. Pickerington Heating and Cooling aka 5 STAR SERVICES did not come in the cheapest but was in the middle and the reason I pick them was because of the Salesman Josh ! An older very experienced man in the industry not just sales. He was so knowledgeable about all the systems and what I truly needed. But he convinced me what separated Pickerington Heating and Cooling was the staff and installers. The Installers are truly what matters in a job like this. They told me on Monday they were so booked that it would be next Monday before I could get a Fill install. But Josh went above and beyond and stop back the next day with a capacitor that got my old one up and running so we had a/c to get by with. Sure I could have just had him replace that and been done and we both knew that, but it is 23 yrs old. So we chose to replace it. Now they call me on Tuesday and say an opening came up and they could squeeze it in Thursday !!! Great News !!! Now the BEST PART ...The 3 men they sent out Jerrick, Tony and Zane. These 3 worked together like an Ohio State Offense ..2 worked inside taking the furnace apart and Zane outside taking the old A/C unit apart and installing the New Goodman. When it was all said and done I was so impressed ..Clean as you go, organized, communicated great between the 3 of them. Every thing they touched or did looks great, clean and professionally installed.     My experience working with Cham from SuperTec to install a thermostat:…read more A friend had previously installed a Honeywell thermostat for me and it worked perfectly for 1.5 months before a fuse blew. My apartment maintenance reinstalled the original Emerson thermostat, and decided to hire a professional to complete the install. First tech visit: Before Cham installed my thermostat, my A/C was working perfectly with the original thermostat - blowing cold/warm air with no issues. After he installed the Honeywell thermostat, the heat worked but the A/C was NOT working. It was blowing warm air instead of cold. I checked and told him the A/C wasn't blowing cold air. He told me to "wait it out" and "take his word for it" that it would eventually come on. I had to leave for work, so I paid his invoice and just trusted him. When I got home at 9 PM, I set the A/C to 60F when the room was 73F. After running for an entire hour, the temperature stayed at 73F. I texted him at 10 PM to report the A/C wasn't working. Second tech visit: He came back and claimed the problem was low refrigerant levels. He took refrigerant readings with the Honeywell thermostat installed when it was 30F outside. He himself stated that refrigerant levels should only be measured when outdoor temperature is at or above 65F. Yet he took readings at 30F. At my request (maintenance required the original thermostat to be reinstalled for work orders), he said reinstalling the original Emerson would cost $100. I agreed to pay because I thought maybe there really was a refrigerant issue. I paid the $100 (now $250 total invested). He reinstalled the original thermostat and immediately the A/C started blowing cold air. I told him it was now blowing cold air. He claimed it didn't appear to be blowing cold air despite me feeling it clearly blowing cold. He had taken another refrigerant reading with the original thermostat at 33F outside and claimed both readings were "almost identical." The the A/C worked perfectly with the original thermostat and didn't work with his Honeywell installation. If refrigerant was truly the issue, the A/C wouldn't have worked with either thermostat. He then suggested I return my Honeywell and buy a new one to prove the thermostat was defective (not his installation). It was past the return window, so I would've had to buy another $90 thermostat. He said if the new one worked, it would prove the first thermostat was bad. If it still didn't work, he wouldn't charge me again. At this point, I had paid $250 and saw his story wasn't adding up so I hired another HVAC professional. Before tech started work, me and the tech tested both heat and A/C together. Everything worked perfectly. The tech installed the exact same Honeywell thermostat that Cham from SuperTec had installed (the one where A/C wasn't working), and now BOTH heat and A/C work flawlessly.

I understand not everyone's skill levels are equivalent but…read morein the course of 3 months and several repeat visits and upwards of $1500 paid out to this contractor the true problem was never addressed. He then suggested either a complete rewiring or a new unit (trying to force us into a new unit as he claimed rewiring parts wouldn't be able to be sourced. Our regular HVAC tech confirmed that it was a simple fix and the furnace has plenty of years of life in it as it's only an 8 year old unit.
