Yummy!! We tried out the new location last night, and it was delicious!! I love finding good places to eat in my hometown!! My hubby got the sausage pasta , he says the sauce was perfect and noodles were cooked to perfection! I got the stuffed tenderloin with mashed potatoes and veggies! Omg! The tenderloin was stuffed with ham and mozzarella cheese.. Very cheesey and grilled just right. Meat was tender and juicy! The wait staff was very attentive! We will be back!! read more

Rigo's offers top-notch food & service now with beautiful ambiance in the new location. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable for a higher end dining experience. Among my favorites are lamb shank, sea bass, salmon, mussels, tilapia, Especial del Mar, and you can't go wrong with the pasta dishes. The sauces are a specialty and the hallmark of a restaurant featuring fine dining. I love the champagne sauce, port wine sauce, tomato cream sauce, homemade meat sauce, white wine sauce - let's face it, all of them are delicious. I love this place, first time we had been and it lived up to what we heard! I had a seafood pasta dish (shrimp, mussels and whit fish). It was so good. The husband got the scalps and he loved those too. The best part of the night was the service....top notch staff. We WILL BE BACK. read more

While looking for a Kankakee-area restaurant for a birthday dinner, I came across Rigo's Place. We had dinner on a Monday night, and had a really nice time. The drinks were cold, the Caesar salad tasty, and our crab cakes and steak entrees delicious. Our server Lindsay took great care of us, and even provided a birthday candle! What a beautiful interior! Very regal and classy with a pleasant atmosphere. Ordered the Mahi Mahi which was about average could've been fresher but didn't detract from the flavors on the plate. Delicious mushroom sauce on top that was simple and not too salty. Rice seemed rather bland but went well with the sauce. Would've like to see pasta with this but all in all a very solid meal with low prices. Recommend stopping bye and trying this. read more

Downtown Kankakee doesn't have much so this place is great and hopefully will be well supported. Food is great, flavorful, well presented, and not overpriced. Atmosphere is nice and aucustics are great - not a noisy din. Bar is well stocked: would be nice to have a draft beer selection but not a big issue. Also an easy drive off 57...worth it for the food. read more

Food was outstanding!! I had the angel hair and shrimp. Sauce was great and shrimp was delish. Great atmosphere and inside of restaurant is very warm and cozy feeling. Prices are very fair. Only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 was because the service was lacking. Maybe we just came on a busy night I don't know. My husband and I went to Rigo's a few weeks ago to celebrate the completion of my Master's Degree. We hadn't been since it moved locations and we were excited to see the new place. It looked fantastic inside and the food was absolutely excellent. I ordered the chicken empanada: chicken breast with ham and cheese cooked inside, while my husband ordered the Rigo Special: chicken breast with crab cakes on top. Both were served with mashed potatoes. Everything was absolutely wonderful!!!! We liked it so much that we went back for New Year's Eve. My husband liked the crab cakes so much that he got them again while I ordered the lobster tail with a twiced baked potato. It was honestly one of the best potatoes I have ever had and the lobster tail was amazing. The rolls are also very good. We will continue to support this local restaurant for all of our special occasions. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. read more

Not only did my family have a horrible experience at Rigo's Place, but, after following up and speaking with the owner twice about it, he refused to right the wrong. For $120 we received a piece of metal in our shrimp scampi, a waitress that could not open a bottle of wine and inedible pork chops. Completely disgusted. Do not waste your time or money here! read more

Came here for their Easter brunch and was pretty disappointed. It was easy to see that they were not well prepared for buffet service. First, when we got up to eat there were no plates available. The person carving the meats had to flag someone down to go get some. Second, when the plates came they were not very clean. The first plate I picked up had some dry food residue. When I grabbed the second it had quite a bit of water still on it which I just let drip on the ground. Third, a couple of the food items they had replaced did not have serving utensils. They had to flag someone down to go get those. Fourth, food was not that great. The pulled pork had tons of bones in it. The first bite I took I hit one because I did not realize the bones were still in it. My first serving of pulled pork I probably pulled out 5 bones. About an hour into the meal my stomach started to feel odd so something was not agreeing with me, couldn't really pinpoint what that might have been. Fifth, I asked for an iced tea twice and it still had not come after about 20 minutes. Flagged down another server who quickly got that for me. Sixth, they only had one serving station which resulted in a continuously long line which then resulted in foods running out quickly. Each time I got in line an item I wanted was not yet replenished or replaced with something completely different that I did not want. For the price I expected a little more quality. read more
