I think Rik is the real deal just a nice man, a good person who I am pretty sure does not even need to work at all but just loves to stay busy and helping people and enjoying his employees...I cant even think of anyone I have wanted to say anything like that about. My car was totalled and although I got it back safely driving salvage title car by own skills, cosmetically it was still very sad along with a leaking trunk from a hit and run Where other body shops would not touch it saying for instance "we only handle insured cars not salvage title cars" Rik was more "no problem we can fix this one" I asked for and did not expect anything but just "good enough" to drive and look okay if you squinted but instead? The work was beautiful! I mean like new looking! They were pretty busy so as long as I was okay with a bit of a wait he was good with doing the job....all I can say is it was totally worth the wait! I moved out to VC 2 months ago from Vista/Oceanside. I was searching for a good autoshop and came across this one. The shop I was originally going to is located in Vista and it's just too far of a drive to head that way so I found the nearest one to me with good reviews. Anyway I came in for a tire patch, Jose worked on it right away and was done in less than 10 mins. Fast and efficient, I love it. I also met the owners; Rick and his wife. They are really cool and down to earth. Nothing like doing business with good people. I will definitely be back here when I need some work done. I definitely recommend anyone needing some work or looking to buy cars to come out to these guys. They have a ton of inventory and most importantly, they will take care of you! Runs hot and cold. Sometimes responsive to fix a flat or something minor. I go down to buy a new set of tires. I guess the lady working was having a bad day and didn't want to be bothered. Wouldn't order tires, barely spoke to us, basically sat behind her counter, ignored us, major bad attitude, and extremely Unprofessional. I took my wife with me to make sure I had not done something to offend this person. When you live local it's good to be polite to everyone. My wife confirmed we were nothing but polite, professional , and friendly. This woman had never met my wife and she was also very rude to her. My wife is very polite and professional, she also spent 30 years at DMV, and Could probably teach this woman a thing or two. I had to lead my wife away in order to avoid a scene. Lol I can't repeat what my wife said about this lady's attitude. And believe me my wife knows all about attitude. Lol We like to support local business. Unfortunately this one has lost our support, we won't be back, and we purchased new truck tires elsewhere. read more

One of the worst experiences I have ever had with auto repair ever, even considering the dealers who rip you off just for the hell of it. At first, Rik seemed to be someone who cared about his reputation. Then after having my car in his garage for over (5) weeks with little to no communication as to what to expect one starts to wonder what is going on. Then finally I get the car back only to discover I still have an oil leak which he insists is a car with over 100K on the odometer leaking water from the A/C overflow. Then after my wife expresses her disapproval he patiently wastes more of our time trying to convince us the oil leak was from the engine block. Now I didn't take auto mechanics in high school but I can tell the difference between water overflowing from the A/C unit over a substantial oil leak. Finally, I take the car to another service garage one I have used in the past only to discover my newly installed brakes weren't up to the manufacturer's standards causing a rattling noise. Upon having the car on the rack I noticed the oil pan had a tremendous leak causing blowback all the way to the midsection of the undercarriage. Now can someone tell me after having the vehicle for over (5) weeks and having had the car up on the rack how one misses an oil pan gasket leaking like a sieve??? In the end, Rik's final comment was I don't need your business "I've been here for over (30) years, whatever you have to say won't matter" Having lived in the area going on (20) years I duly support local businesses, but this is one business I will never ever use again!!! read more

On our way to Palomar mt our transmission started to fail. I ask for the best mechanic near by and everyone said Rik Mazzetti & Son Garage (760) 749-7093. I arrive late in the day and was greeted by Rik with a smile. He stopped what he was doing and took a look, checked the transmission fluid and said 'it is about dead' . He recommended a shop in Encinitas where we live. I offer to pay him but he smiled and said no thanks. I just know he is an honest guy. BTW we limped home safely read more

My son goes to high school with the owner's son and he got a flat tire at the high school. He has a 2016 Acura and they do not stock them with spare tires. Rick ( owner ) immediately had our son's car towed to his shop, replaced the tire, balanced the tires and dropped the car back off at the high school. It was the " red carpet " treatment- and extremely reasonably priced. Support your local business if you live in Valley Center! If you don't live here, make the short trip to Rick's garage.... My wife and I had a wonderful experience with Rik Mazzetti & Son's Garage this week. We were on our way to Harrah's Resort on Tuesday when her car began to overheat. As we continued to drive, it kept approaching the red line and cooling off but then approaching the red line again. We somehow made it the 30 miles to Harrah's with this problem and when we got there we immediately asked the staff about local auto garages. This place came highly recommended. Once the car was cooled off and rested the next day, we drove the 1 mile to the garage and they were able to fit us in right away. The part that really impressed us with Rik's was that not only did Andrea outline the exact plan for our car, she also offered to drive us back to the hotel in her personal car and call us later that day with an estimate when she could have easily let us walk or had us call a shuttle. Maybe an hour later, she called and told us that it wasn't a cracked radiator or ruined hose like we had thought, but it was a faulty thermostat that could be fixed that same day! Since we had no plans that day, we said there was no rush and we could easily pick it up the next day and not to feel hurried. She also offered to come pick us up when we checked out! We were so impressed with their honesty, integrity, and kindness! They managed to take an incredibly difficult, stressful situation and completely soothe any stress and worries we'd had. We will definitely be recommending this location to anyone we know traveling to the hotel because the service and the staff at Rik's are very hard to come by!
