Used to bring my BMWs here for service over the years because of how friendly, responsive, and reasonably priced they were. Fast forward a few years later and I call them to get a quote on a service and they refuse to give me a quote unless I bring it to pay and diagnose saying it could cost "4 or 5 times more than I expected". Every single other shop I called didn't even do that, clearly it must be to gouge on the cost once your car is already in their possession or else they would have nothing to hide. Sad to say I no longer trust this place. read more

CAUTION: Not trustworthy. I will never return. I wouldn't even send an enemy here. I don't like to write negative reviews. But if I had trusted this shop, I would have given them between $2600-4000 for work that was NOT needed. First off, I was lured in by an Instagram ad that offered me a detail included with an oil change. Sadly, I learned this was too good to be true!!! This shop is not very close to me, so I took about a half day off work to go to this oil appointment, only to be told the marketing person "messed up" and it wasn't really a detail but just a car wash, but they would "do me a favor" and hook it up. Well, they didn't hook it up. I can wash my car far better than they did. And a detail? They didn't even vacuum or dust it. Ridiculous. Next, they tried upselling me at every turn (starting with the detail they tried to sell me until I reminded them it was supposed to be included). They did an "inspection" and quoted me for all kinds of work I didn't need and/or couldn't afford. A Cabin air filter I had just done myself weeks prior. Brakes another shop did 2 months prior. Then some suspension stuff that seemed serious (see pic) - which stressed me out for months, until I finally had saved $ to take it to another shop... (Because, NO WAY I was getting work done at this place after all of the red flags.) Well guess what? Just recently I took it to a different (actually trustworthy) shop. The owner put it on the rack. Came back in with an weird expression as if to say, "you're not going to believe this." I had no idea what was about to happen. I was dreading how costly it might be, as I had delayed the repair by months. He had me walk under my car with him to see these supposedly cracked and leaking tie-rod boots and other issues... and everything was IN PERFECT CONDITION. Which makes sense bc my car has only about 50k miles. So the second shop sent me away without paying a penny, and I'll be going back there to get my brake pads done when they're *actually* due to be done. Shops like Oside Motorsports are why we can't trust mechanics. It's truly sad. I can't imagine if I performed my job this way, trying to unethically take ppl's hard-earned money, just because my customers have little choice but to trust me. It's shameful. read more

I think I've found my new go-to auto shop! From start to finish, they went above and beyond in ways I've never experienced anywhere else. They offered me a free Uber ride to and from my house after I dropped off my car, kept me updated by text with photos and videos explaining what they found (I got a free safety inspection!), and clearly outlined what needed attention now versus later. They even hand-washed and vacuumed my car before I picked it up--also free! If your car needs a longer stay, they offer $10/day rentals from their own fleet. The staff were friendly, explained everything in plain language, and made me feel like a valued customer. A nice surprise? A handwritten thank-you card from my service tech and advisor waiting on my dashboard upon pickup! I'm sure they're not bad mechanics, but they're definitely greedy MFers. Went in for an oil change and they tried to convince me to leave my truck there for other work needing to be done. I already knew the work needed to be done, but I just wanted to do my research since we just moved to the area. The dude just kept trying to pressure me into leaving it with them, unfortunately for him, I'm not an idiot... So I make some calls... they quoted me $1300 for my brakes. Everyone else in the area was around $500-700. so obviously I got my brakes done elsewhere and while I was there, they also recommended my drive belt to be replaced (again, I already knew this). Oside quoted me almost $600... I got it done for $125. So yeah, do your research before being suckered into Oceanside Motorsports price gouging. The part that REALLY pissed me off is when I told the guy that I was getting my brakes done elsewhere he called me a liar for not using them. Not sure how that's lying when I never said I was going to get it done through you... AND THEN HE SAYS "well I could've worked out a deal with you" LMAO, like no. Give me the rate it costs from the beginning or get tf out of my face. Taking advantage of people is bad business. read more

I took my Volkswagen for an inspection because it was making a popping noise. The inspection itself was about $55. Which is a great price. VW was quoting $250 for a diagnostic. OSM was super thorough with the inspection report and provided me so much feedback! They were very accommodating and provided a basic wash with my service! Great experience overall. I took my vehicle to Oceanside Motorsport for a simple coolant flush and refill -- that part went fine. Unfortunately, everything after that was a nightmare. When we arrived to pick up the vehicle, it wouldn't shift into any gear. The only way to move it was to tow it, which didn't make sense since it had just been in for maintenance. We felt backed into a corner and had no choice but to leave it with them. From there, communication was almost nonexistent. Days went by with no updates. When we called, Kenji -- the mechanic assigned to our vehicle -- was short, rude, and made my wife feel like she was bothering him just for asking for updates. After more delays, we were told Kenji no longer worked there (but "it had nothing to do with our situation"). By this point, our vehicle had been sitting there untouched for over two weeks. Finally, Robert took over, and he was the only positive part of this experience. He was professional, helpful, and actually communicated with us. After nearly four weeks and a bill of $1,406.95, we finally got the vehicle back -- we were told it was a switch in the steering column. Unfortunately, just a month later, the exact same issue is happening again. This problem never existed before we brought our vehicle to Oceanside Motorsport. Overall, this was a frustrating, expensive, and time-consuming experience. I cannot recommend this shop based on how poorly our situation was handled and the fact that the issue still isn't fixed. read more

This is one of the best shops I've visited in north county. I enjoyed the good communication and open conversation about the job. I came in needing a normal service and they found some safety issues in my suspension and gave me a solution. The only reason it isn't 5 stars is because i wish i was given a few different price options for my suspension instead of just telling me i need to get full adjustable king shocks. lol I mean i love the rig now and it rides so nice. But i think they went over board on what i really needed to get back on the road. I also wasn't too stoked to find the parts online cheaper than what they charged me for. When i was being told what the problem was they verbally told me not to worry because they have a wholesale account for the parts and then continued to charge me more than retail. So I felt kind of screwed on that part. I also initially came in because of an ad I saw that said "oil change and detail for 98$" when I came in to get the deal they denied the offer saying that the company made a marketing mistake and they can't honor that promotion. They did run the car through a wash and it looked like the inside was cleaned a bit. But for sure not a detail as I was sold on. They did do the wash for free, took $100 off the parts, and rotated my tires for free. But I still went in thinking I was spending $98 and left spending $5400 on so much more. It's a solid job and I enjoyed all of the employees, but it's super expensive and just wish I was given a few price options up front. I've been taking our Mini to OMS for service since the warranty expired 3 years ago, and the level of service here is far superior than that of the dealership - or any other garage I have been to in San Diego. Every time I pick the car up after service everything just works better - the clutch, the steering, the brakes, you name it. They are extremely friendly and transparent even when the root cause of a problem is not yet known, I always appreciate the status updates of the diagnostics. Not only is the quality of their work of the highest class, these guys are FAST. They get s*** done! It's probably a higher cost than other mechanics but you get what you pay for - which in this case is really good personalized service and a car that you can drive off the lot with confidence. In December 2024 I calles OMS 2 x and left messages and no one ever called me back. Frustrated. Later, the Owner Neil texted me his apology and process breakdown. Further, he said my next service would be free of charge due to this oversight. I replied , thank you, late January. Today January 30, 2025 I took my 1995 Nissan Maxima in for service at OMS. I met and was warmly greeted by Neil. The service writer Frederick wrote up everything and they got me a ride back home. Later day I received a fantastic Work Order inspection with photos , details , and a quote for each item by PRIORITY. The $200+ maintenance Service was performed FOC. If a company will go to this extent to re-capture a customer it says a lot and means a lot to me. Owing to Neils responses and their work today I'll definitely be coming back. Unprofessional! Very dissapointed with the total experience there! they never called me back when they said they would....that, in itself, speaks volumes. They were supposed to diagnose the vehicle, and told me it was a gas cap issue. I picked up the car after the oil change, and "supposed" diagnostic. I took the car to be smog checked and was told they reset the computer on the car and they could not test the vehicle when I never authorized for them to do that. The smog tech told me the gas cap was not the issue be because he tested the cap! He said any good mechanic should have tested the cap. Not to mention all these RECOMMENDED, overpriced service suggestions! In my opinion I think they really lack integrity. Never taking my vehicle again to these *&^%### Ever again! read more

I give five stars to Oceanside Motorsports because of the value and the care given to my car I have a 1990 Mazda Miata and they did an all-wheel alignment after I did some suspension work. Craig was my service writer and during the time that my car was being worked on somehow the little button on the dash fell off my theory was when my car was being detailed. Nevertheless, Craig did not argue with me he found out that I was not pleased and ordered the part which easily snapped in place making me very happy I'm such a pleased customer! read more

The engine light in my car came on Thursday or Friday (it is Tuesday that I started writing this). I took it in yesterday (Monday) to this place. I just moved to Oceanside from South OC, so I decided to give this place a shot based on 5 star reviews although there weren't that many. I'm trying to adjust to the new area and it was conveniently located 10 minutes away from me, so I gave it a shot. I called and spoke to Craig (I believe he is the owner) on the phone. Right off the bat I told him I was gonna drive there and he asked me, "but what if your engine blows up on the way here?" Ummmm ok so I have had that irrational fear before and I have had a few reliable mechanics in my past, and if he was worried maybe an "are you sure?" Or "i would recommend you get it towed" but to ask me what if it blows up?? Tf lol . I believe it was Connor who I spoke to when I initially came in, quiet and nice guy. But then I spoke to Craig in person. I'm a pretty bubbly person and smile, maybe not as much as I should since people mistake my kindness for weakness. But ima be honest, off the bat I didn't like the vibe I received compared to my original mechanic. I felt like he was talking to me like I was special needs or something. He asked what was wrong wit the car and I told him this isn't the worst and most serious it has sounded or how it functions, and I told him what I feel happens when I drive it. He looked at me and said "Oh this sounds serious. My cars don't do that." Uh ok? That's why I'm here? Lol. Bro, just keep the comments to yourself. Then I had a feeling ok, this guy is gonna make the problem seem worse and more expensive than it is. But like I shouldn't have, I ignored that gut feeling. He talked with wide eyes and facial expressions like I am a 6 year old child. I called out of work for this car to get fixed. Ok, shit happens. Work understands. I called out again today since he couldn't guarantee me it would be ready. No problem. He had texted me the previous night (Monday) he would have the prices ready for me the next morning (Tuesday) and he did. However, the prices were not what I am used to or have ever heard of from my original mechanic. If you decide to come here, know some things about cars at least and know that the prices are ridiculous. I was quoted $2,900 to fix the car to minimum and $5,000 to fully fix it. I told Craig I would take my car back and instead of agreeing ok , he asked me questions over the phone "well what are you going to do? Have you heard of PayPal credit?" He said I could keep my car there until I figure it out. NO MEANS NO MEANS NO MEANS NO. And he was still asking me the same questions when I showed up for my car. Bro, I came to get my keys and pay for your overpriced labor that i never had to pay NEARLY as much in my life ever. "And we gave you 20% off" smh such a deal. I drove to get my car fully fixed in Mission Viejo for way way WAY LESS!!!!!! when I was quoted $5,000 to fix everything . Check out the reviews of Mission Auto Repair in my reviews. Car are not cheap, but even if you live out here in SD County, get the car towed or what you need to do and go to fair priced and honest people. Best motorsport shop in SoCal? I brought my Giulia QV in for a very last minute track day alignment. But because of my own doing, I ended up needing a last minute suspension component replacement as well. I would not have made it to my track day without these guys going out of their way to take care of it. It's a long story that involves a full day of cooperation, and OMS went above and beyond what I would consider good service. I've never experienced so much enthusiasm or good energy from a shop. From my short experience, those guys are very professional, and looks like they know what they're doing. Everything they do looks like well oiled machine. First you bring your car for FREE evaluation, then they tell you it will take about 4 hours, and they kind enough to give you a loaner car until they complete the evaluation. And all these , they do with no cost of any kind to you. Since I have an older car I was happy to have professionals look at my car and see if they are any issues. I did not bring my car due to mechanical issues, I just brought it in, to have a piece of mind that my car is good, and safe to drive. After 4 hours I came back to pick up my car and I received a full report of all the issues the mechanic believe I should do. Some urgent fix needed according to them , and other just recommendation for the long run. Total bill in case I wanted to do it all, about $16,500 (My total car retail value is about $9,000) With those kind of high prices I had to pass, on doing anything and move on. I have no proof, but I really believe Oceanside Motorsports team knows what they doing, but their prices extremely high, and I'm talking from experience. I've been around many years with many cars at car repair shops. Oceanside Motorsports prices are HIGH. Bottom line, Oceanside Motorsports could be a goof place to repair your care , but you need deep pockets. unfortunately , they are much to rich for me. read more

Awesome shop! Called to get a free vehicle inspection on a 2009 BMW 335i I recently bought. First person I talked to was Craig. He's super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The other person I talked to was Christian. He was also helpful, and knowledgeable. As they were getting my information in the computer other shop employees were walking by, all said hello, and had a smile on their face. After the inspection I got some preventative maintenance done. They did a great job and kept me updated on the progress. I highly recommend this place, and this is where I'll be coming for anything I can't do myself for this car and any other car I get in the future. read more

I took my car here for some repairs due to their great reviews. My cars back up camera was not working. They said that they will take a quick peek and see if they can pin point the issue without doing diagnostics. Unfortunately they did not find out the issue unless they do a "full diagnostic" which will cost me $292. I approve the work for $292. A day later, I get a call and they figured out the issue is the camera. The new camera will cost me another $972.82 installed and I should have a good working camera. I tried to bargain to get a better deal and the "full diagnostic" charge of $292 was removed. I went ahead and approved the new camera for $972.82. A day later I get a call from them and I was told that they need to update my software and it will cost me another $580 or the new camera will not work. When I asked why this was not disclosed when I approved the $972 camera they said that they didn't know that my software was not updated. Why was this not discovered when they did a "full diagnostic"? I asked to just put the old camera back and I was told that they can't since the new one was already installed even though it's not working. So I ended up paying $972 and still my camera does not work. Hopefully you don't do this to your new customers. This is a very disappointing experience for a new customer. read more

Their vehicle inspection give you a list of everything that could or needs to fixed on your car classified by how urgent the issue is. You can go through that list and approve or deny the repairs that have been recommended. They will also gladly walk you through the list and help determine whether something is priority, or whether it can wait until a later date. They will wash and detail your car during the service, and they will leave a handwritten thank you note on the dashboard. It's the attention to detail that makes this shop and every one of its employees stand head and shoulders above the competition. I've never written a review before; however, I really want the public to know the exceptional service I had with Oceanside Motorsports which I found out by pure luck. If you are a woman and in need of honest people to help you with your car, come to this place. These men are a hidden gem and will take the time to explain everything thoroughly. Please read the back story first...I'll try to keep it short and straight to the point. I own a Hyundai Accent and my driver's window would not go down. I took it to a mechanic in Mission Viejo who charged me for the diagnostic. The mechanic told me he would call me...never heard from him. Next, I took it to the Hyundai dealership where Ernesto said he had to keep the car overnight. He sent me a video saying what else the car needed except an answer to my window problem. I was upset because I thought who else better to fix their own car but the Hyundai dealership. I explained to Ernesto I only wanted my window fixed...please do not touch anything else. He wrote via text saying, "the car needs a window motor the price is $650.00 plus labor." I said "yes" three times, he acted as though he never received any of my text messages. Ernesto gave me the run around even though I approved the price and labor. He held onto my car doing nothing to my window except charge me $260 for a diagnostic. The last thing he explained was the part was on back order, no available ETA at this time. Now Oceanside Motorsports... First, I stand up and applaud this business with the exceptional communication and service, their transparency, honesty, kindness, and caring personalities. As a woman, they took care of me with honesty and transparency. I didn't feel that awkwardness of "will they take advantage of me", that a woman can feel going in clueless about cars. Nate was the person who initially answered my call and his genuine personality could be felt over the phone. He was empathetic when he heard my story and said he would do his best to provide an answer. More importantly, he asked for all the paperwork from the previous mechanics. Next, Craig was the guy I worked with since Nate was busy helping another customer. Craig was HONEST AND TRANSPARENT. I keep using the same adjective, but that's who he is and who they are. When we couldn't speak over the phone, he gave me all the details via text to understand what was going on with my car. In addition, when Nate and Craig were busy, Neil who is a mechanic said everyone was working together to try to find an answer as to why my window would not go down. It wasn't easy, but all of them put their knowledge together to find a solution. The outcome from this situation was pure honesty. Craig explained once my door panel was taken off, the electrical was fried. Fast forward, he suggested the next level diagnostic, fast forward again, I've decided to hold off on putting anymore money into a window. I was told where this could go and it was up to me whether I wanted to put more money into the car. Anyone who read this whole review, please know these men are fantastic and your car is in good hands. I plan to use them again with my husbands Prius as well as the next car I purchase. read more

What a great car servicing shop! I was experiencing a weird noise on the front right side of my vehicle, and my dealer's service department wouldn't have any appointments available for at least a month. A friend of mine recommended Oside Motorsports, and even though I don't drive a BMW, I gave them a call. They were more than willing to help me with my issue, and I was able to bring in my car the very next day. Christian was my service advisor, and he was super pleasant and very knowledgeable about the process. They kept my car for a day, and gave me great recommendations, as well as fixed the issue I was having (new brakes and rotors). Prior to working on my vehicle, Christian sent me a video and walked me through everything they recommended, with a reasonable cost estimate. My car seems to be running even smoother than before. Had oil change appoitment for today 10/15/21 for 9am wich is what Alex told me i Believe thats her name anyways i get there and parking is taking up by a big machine so i called and changed it to tuesday and i ask Craig like to resched and what not so i did and i asked how long will it take ya know like 45mins to 1 hour hour and he said 4 hours -_- for an oil change i know its a free oil change but time is money and it shouldnt take that long to do a small point inspection and oil change and that comes with a car wash wich i wouldnt do anyway as most people dont know how to properly wash a car let alone a mechanic shop . read more
