But I have never had a better haircut than the one given to me by Beau. Hands down. Beau is an artist. Literally. He does sculpture at the nearby fire arts gallery and regularly has showings of his work. He sells his pottery in the salon if you are interested. His artistic eye do wonders for your hair. I can't explain why, but he is the only person that I have ever gone to that seems to get my hair. I hate coming out of most salons, but Beau gives me a look that just WORKS. Beau is old school. He trained in hair as salons were moving away from once a week wash and set visits to scissors cuts which relied more on craftsmanship. He knows all the styles and has watched them come and go. He knows his very knowledgeable about cutting, color and styling. Three of the most stylish women at my work go to Beau - and they all have very unique hair - both short and long, blonde and brunette. I just can't say enough good things about Beau. He simply does an excellent job.

I had to ask for my cuticles to be properly pushed back during the mani because the skin was visibly stretched over my nails. When I returned for a refund or redo, the tech blamed the poor quality on the color instead of taking responsibility for her execution. She was visibly upset and didn't even bother to properly clean up my nails after removing the gel--some gel was still left on. They only refunded me $44 for the gel portion. Poor execution, lack of professionalism, and terrible customer service.

This is a week before my birthday so now I am in a panic. I call this salon and they tell me they have something Friday morning (my birthday is Saturday) so I say yes that is perfect I want it. They say okay well we usually do a consultation beforehand. I tell them I can do whenever they can get me in. So we schedule for Monday at 12:30 for my consultation and Friday at 10 for my hair appointment. The person I spoke to (front desk Amy) tells me she has everything booked for me. She asks me to send inspiration photos to a number she texts me from. I sent my inspiration photos as well as a photo of my hair how it is currently. She says perfect and that she will try to show the stylists today, but that they are pretty busy so she will let me know. This was all at 10am on Saturday March 22. I'm off my phone for a few hours after this point. Once I get back on my phone at 2:30 I see I have a missed call and a text message saying she was able to show my photos to the stylist and they know what package I would be booking for and to give them a call back to confirm. So I call back immediately upon seeing the text and am told by Amy that unfortunately someone else booked the Friday appointment and confirmed before me. What? I was under the impression that me booking a consultation, the Friday appointment, and sending my photos was my "confirmation" of the appointment, along with her telling me over the phone that she has everything "booked." I'm not understanding why the Friday appointment was even offered to another person after I had already stated that absolutely yes I wanted it, booked my consultation for Monday, and sent in my photos. I have never had work done at this salon, but this experience has been pretty negative given I was very excited to be able to get an appointment in before my birthday. I am super disappointed with how this all has went.

She is so talented and never shocked by the most jacked up ideas I come up with. Recently she did 3 friendship tattoos and they are perfect. Val has a special gift not every artist has, she is great at originals, cover ups, simple to elaborate. With Sid and Val in one location you know there is a lot of talent under one roof. Not just the place for ink but for piercings.
