My local mechanic recommended this place to me after bending my front driver rim. The reviews were great as well and I called that same morning for an appointment. Instead, while speaking with Melanie, she told me to stop by before 12:30 PM and I should be out the same day. I was given a window of about five hours, but she called within two hours instead. Wow! Talk about fast! Additionally, I was told that $200 was the payment due, which I was totally okay with. Well, imagine my surprise when she then reached back out to let me know that was a mistake and instead I only owed $120! Wow! Unfortunately, I was across town and wasn't sure if I could make it before closing (6PM). No problem! They kept my car overnight and I was able to return the next morning. My car looked good as new and I drove off with happy, good looking rims. Again, I want to stress how awesome Melanie and this business truly is. Especially in terms of payment. She could've easily allowed me to pay $200 and I wouldn't have known any better. It says a lot that she reached back out to explain that she made a mistake and instead I only owed $120. That alone speaks volumes to her and the character of this establishment. So yes, I absolutely recommend this business to everyone. I very seldom leave 5 stars.. check my history! However, was provided some bad advice by Discount Tire located in Conroe as it concerns my wheel. They informed me I needed a new wheel. Long story short, my tire was deflated due to my wheel was cracked & discovered shortly thereafter bent as well. My vehicle had to be towed to this spot just to give you an idea how I was in bad shape.. Any who, at first the manager due to the time allotted told me it was too late to work on my wheel, however thankful he had a change of heart. Shot out to the tall young guy with the tatts!! He saved my wheel & welded it.. He was very professional & congenial. Dope customer service as he squeezed me in.. was damn near in tears as I couldn't drive on that wheel nor tire. I was recommended to a rim repair place off of FM 1960 and I-45. I spoke with Mario at Rim Repair Houston. He sounded like a good guy and eager to do a complete refinishing of my old Ferrari wheels. After the rims had been delivered to Mario for the job, my friend realized that he had told me the wrong place and it was actually the shop next-door to Houston Rim Repair. Well, by then Mario already had my wheels and was getting started. I believe that refinishing these nearly 50-year-old magnesium wheels was more challenging and difficult than Mario had imagined. Because of this, and his desire to make sure they looked good, it took much longer and required more work and materials than anticipated. There were multiple promises that they would be done by "such and such" a date. Frustrated, I called and texted Mario multiple times and never once did he fail to return my calls or act in any way defensive whatsoever. The turning point in this process was when we jointly decided that I would make the long trip out to his shop to see exactly what was going on, and why this was so difficult. Once Mario carefully explained the process, and I understood the challenges of refinishing an old magnesium wheel, things got smoother and a better result was obtained. Seeing the shop and all the wheels that were being repaired gave me confidence in the work. Modern wheels do not use magnesium and are mostly aluminum or some alloy there of. So, for Mario and the Rim Repair shop, what I had asked them to do was nothing like what they normally do for virtually all customers. The final results were spectacular, and I am extremely happy with my refinished wheels. The amount of work, thought, and materials that went into refinishing my wheels had to exceed Mario's initial quote by a long shot. However, he never once complained and charged me the original quote. I am confident that he could not possibly have made any money on this deal, and almost certainly lost some. I hope this very positive review will help other customers find their way to this excellent, and highly recommended shop. I wish I could leave negative stars for this place. I posted pics and my complaint on their Fb page which they deleted. Absolutely horrible work. We gave them 2 set of motorcycle wheels to do and we were trying to establish a working relationship with them since we do a lot of custom bikes and have wheels and parts powder coated all the time. Price was more than we normally pay which was fine since they came highly recommended and my partners and I were ok paying more for quality work and a fast turnaround time. long story short, the 3 days we were told turned into 4 weeks. And the work? wish I was able to post the pictures. Told them multiple times to not powdercoat the area where a brake rotor mounts. What did they do? Powdercoated it and then half assed trying to remove it. Rear rim had a bubble which they popped. And left. manager texted me back after I sent him pics of the trash job they did and offered to redo them. Again. For the 3rd time. Yeah no thanks I'm good. I'm just going to pay someone else to redo these. So think twice if you're considering this place for work. Customer beware: quality repairs and reasonable pricing (4 stars), but terrible customer service (-2 stars). I'm a repeat customer of Rim Repair Houston. The first time was an overall good experience, other than when I went for pickup and had to wait over an hour simply to have the repaired rim swapped/installed on the car. Excuse given was that their tech had just left for lunch break (it was after 1:00 p.m.). Very unapologetic customer service - they acted as if I was in the wrong and being unreasonable. That said, they did a good job on the repair (curb rash), so I was willing to give them another shot. Second time I needed a rim repaired for curb rash, I was careful to in avoid another inconvenience/bad experience on handoff. So, I called this past Friday and spoke with Mario to schedule an appointment, explaining that I wanted to schedule on a slow day for them so that I could bring it in and wait in-shop for the repairs to be done. For context, the round trip from where I live to their shop is over an hour with any amount of traffic, and I have to coordinate around work. I explained to Mario exactly what the repair was for (curb rash), that the damaged rim was machine-finished, which I learned from my first experience means it requires repair by CNC lathe. With all that information, Mario explained it would be a 1-3 hour process, and he recommended Tuesday morning since that tended to be a slow time where I would likely be able to get out in that stated 1-3 hour timeframe. I set the appointment. On Tuesday morning (today), I showed up shortly after 9:00 a.m. and walked in to get things started. When I explained the situation to the employee at the front desk, he seemed surprised and in disbelief. He looked at the rim and told me that the repair would likely take more in the ballpark of 4-5 hours (even that being a rush). I explained my conflicting conversation with Mario, and how this was all set up carefully to navigate my travel time and work situation. He had no explanation other than Mario essentially gave a bad ETA and also must not have been aware of what other work they had pending in the shop today. Then he went back and called over another employee (Marissa, I believe), who happened to be who working the front desk during my first poor handoff experience. She came out and the story changed. Now it was that their technician that does this type of repair was out today, so they would not be able to do it under any circumstance. I asked why they accepted (much less recommended) an appointment today if that was the case and, at the very least, why they did not call this morning to cancel the appointment / let me know not to waste the time and gas bringing my car in. They had no explanation other than again trying to shift blame to Mario - who was not in the shop today. I explained my frustration given the careful planning and how now I had wasted an hour for absolutely nothing, which was avoidable if they simply cared to communicate, and told them I would take my business elsewhere. Bottom line: Rim Repair Houston does quality repairs for reasonable prices, BUT they have twice now demonstrated an almost complete lack of respect for customers' time, energy and hard-earned money. Both times, they have also either had excuses for poor performance or simply refused to take any ownership of the situation. Honestly, their treatment/response in these situations was unprofessional and borderline rude (particularly Marissa, both experiences). The negatives here can't be overlooked, and I wanted to warn other prospective customers. If you're willing to risk incredible inconvenience and poor treatment for quality work at a fair price, Rim Repair Houston is for you. As for me, absent sincere apology and a strong gesture to earn my repeat business ("maybe" knocking off $25 does not even come close), I will be giving another shop this and future business - which will be lucrative for them, because my wife and I scrape a lot of curbs. read more

My husband and I came into this shop for a quote. A lovely lady came in to attend us and everything went well as we believed it was a fair price for a repair ($140)Bend and a Crack on a 18" F1R. Even wrote down the quote on a business card. A week or two went by..we came back to the shop and dropped off the rim only after agreeing to a price change ($150). We were irritated by this but after shopping around at other places we figured ok fine let's just get it fixed mentality. We dropped it off and we're told it should be done early tomorrow afternoon. NOW my husband and I drove up to the shop again to see what's going on as we were expecting a phone call by now (3:00pm) we were told THEY HAD LEFT OUR RIM in the "completed" pile. ON TOP OF THAT the tech looked at us directly and said "we're going out to lunch it should be 2 hours when it should be ready". 3:45pm rolls around and we get a phone call from the shop. My husband answers it trying to be reasonable after already being annoyed. The caller asked if we wanted curb rash repair It's going go be $155. When my husband said no It's only the bend and crack repair. Caller sounded really confused and said ok fine "crack and bend we can fix it for you for $155 it should be ready by 5:30 thank you" So not only did we get a quote changed up on us twice we also got a broken promise on their part by not coming through with an early or reasonable finish and pick up time they also had a caller give us an attitude. This company (location) doesn't deserve the recommendations it's been getting by a long shot. After today we won't be coming back to this spot. A company is in business to make business. Phenomenal customer service. I brought in my car to repair a rim after my tire shop told me it was bent and they couldn't balance it. I dropped off my car and a little later I got a call from them saying my rim was perfect and undamaged.. I asked them to check all of them to be sure and they said they were all like new. Any other shop would have taken the $150+ to "repair" a rim and sent me on my way, considering I had already signed the work order agreeing to pay for the service. Instead, they balanced and mounted my tires, charged me $10 for the inspection, and I was ready to go. Rim Repair Houston, you have my business for life. Hitting a pothole going 75 mph on Huston's finest Freeway 290, will bend your two front rims. Now every time I would reach 70 mph the car would start to vibrate from the damage rims. There's not a huge amount to say to be honest, they're local, reasonably priced and did the job. It only loses one star based on the time it took compared to what I was quoted. I was told it would take an hour and a half. I dropped the car off at 9am, and picked it up at 5:30pm. There was no real rush, but I just like people to stick to their word. I was so to have found this gem in the mist of being told by the dealer it would be $1500.00 to fix my wheels. After reading all the great reviews I kept seeing on google and yelp I decided to give Mario and his team a try. I called and spoke with Mario the owner and told him what was going on and he told me to send him some pictures which is what I did. He then gave me my options on what he could do. He suggested refinishing the wheels which would restore them back to factory OEM quality due to the deep Scratches I had from hitting the curb. I was in agreement with whatever he suggested so I scheduled a time to drop the car off. When I got to the shop I was greeted by Mario who walked out to the car with me looking at the wheels and verified that that would be the best option! I was again very trusting of his judgement and left my car. He said he only needed one entire day with the car. Price was $300.00 for both to be refinished to OEM quality. I was very pleased with the price. Fast forward to when I went to get my car. I couldn't believe what I was seeing my car rims looked impeccable like brand new! Don't come here. Had a horrible experience and outcome on the repair. Here's why, Monday I hit a hole driving home from work on highway 59. Saw a dent/bend in the exterior part of the wheel only. Mind you I have no curb rashes or any kind paint problems, and was driving highway speeds with 245/35/19 tires on. Drove to this place the same day, Rim Repair Houston, with its 4 star reviews credentials . The manager/sales gave me a quote of $85, which isn't bad at all compared to buying a new wheel, fixing this bent wheel and making it a spare. The manager said to come and bring it Tuesday morning (9am) and gave me a promising estimated time of 4 1/2 hours and maybe a little longer. I was kind of surprised on how short on the estimated time he gave me, but I believed him since I had no exp. on wheel repairs and had no say into it. I dropped off my wheel with my tire. Timed 4 1/2 hours on my phone. The manger said that he would give me a call when it would be ready. The 4 1/2 hours passed, no call, 5 hour mark, no call, 6 hour mark, no call, 7 hour mark, no call. I get dropped off at 5 pm since they were going to close at 6pm. Walked through the doors, the lady said my wheel was ready, I had paid, sat down. Lady comes back and asks if I had a tire come with the wheel. I said yes... and then she goes back to the workshop/garage. Comes back and tells me that my wheel wouldn't be ready today. I asked what the reason was.. and she said that the manager/sales didn't write that the wheel came with the tire in the report.. and once they tried to put back the tire, the paint got scratched and peeled.. so I'd had to wait another day. How lucky is that.. and I had already paid. So now I had no car for work the next day. I Come back the next day, got a quick look on wheel, then I drive home. 2 days later I was able to really wipe and clean the wheels. I stumble across this peeling paint, and scratched up paint from the balancing that they had done. 1. Promises to call. no call 2. No where close to estimated time. from 4 1/2 hours to 2 days. 3. Peeling paint. 4. 3/10 paint job. 5. scratched spoke from repair (didn't see it until i cleaned it_ Hopefully I'll save everyone from a horrible 1 star experience. GO to another wheel repair shop. I had the rim bend damage from port holes, Could not get them repaired at Audi dealership, and was told i need 3 new rims,($2300) total to fix the issue. . I did lot of online research and decided to give it a try. These guys are in north Houston and i drove all the way from South Katy area. DJ & Mario helped me in fixing my car's rims, as well as painted brake calipers, RRH did an excellent job for a very reasonable price. They have definitely impressed me, i would definitely recommend these guys if you have a damaged rim. The first time I went here was a great experience! The 2nd time was a different story. The owner wasn't there, they got a new receptionist who doesn't seem to know what she's doing and they claim the prices went up. When she went outside she looked at my car but not the rims. Then told me it would be the same price minus $10 for being a return customer. I got less work done than the first time and the price was significantly more. I asked for a price sheet and they don't have one. When asking the receptionist why i was charged more, she said it was what I was charged last time (not true because I kept my receipt) when I tried to tell her the things I got done the last time, it's like looking at deer in the headlights. I was driving through I-10 this morning and hit a curb. I'm not from Texas, and I was nervous because I know nothing in Houston. My rim was bent and I was too scared to drive it any farther. I didn't even know where I was in Houston and I was so worried that I would have to take my car to Audi and spend $700 on a rim because I didn't know anyone reputable. A family member called for me (while I was busy calling others) and I instantly knew I was going to take my car to them. They could not have been nicer and more understanding that I wasn't from here and I needed to get on my way. He made his staff work through lunch (I'm so sorry about that but it was SO APPRECIATED) and got my bent rim welded and fixed in under 1.5 hours for only $135. Definitely won't be recommending this place. Customer service and timeliness is horrible. It started with a message on facebook asking for a quote. They responding asking for information. When I provided the information, they never responded. Against my better judgement, I took the rims in for a quote. I talked to the manager (Mario) about what I wanted. He assured me it could be done and gave me a price. I then filled out this information form with basic information about me and the job being perform. That was Fri, May 1st. He assured me that everything would be completed and ready to pickup on Tues, May 5th. I didn't tell him it was a rush job or I needed it done ASAP. That was the date he gave me. So when Tues, May 5th came around, I called about 3:00 pm to ask if the job was complete. The receptionist didn't have a clue about my job. When she finally passed me to Mario after about 20 mins of waiting on the phone, he didn't have a clue either. About 15 mins of digging and having to explain the job again, he told me that they would start the job immediately. On Wed, May 6th I was texted to get the color code and information about my car. He told me I could come by to make sure the color was right. After work, I went and gave them the go ahead to complete the project. I also told him that I needed the job complete by Fri because I had to get the rims mounted on Sat. Finally I went by Fri and picked the rims up. The center caps was not ready. Mario then told me that they would be ready on Sat if I wanted to swing through and pick them up. I told him I'd just get them Monday on my way from work. He said okay. So on Mon May 11th, I went by at about 5:15 pm to pick up the center caps. To my surprise they still weren't ready. The receptionist said that they was at a place called Redline and she'd go pick them up 1 thing in the morning on Tues May 12th. I skipped a day and went back on Wed May 13th. To my surprise, they still weren't ready. After a semi argument with the manager Mario, he explained that he never told me that they were ready for pickup. But he was the one giving me all of these false completion dates. He also said that he was so overwhelmed with orders. So basically my business was not important to them. I finally took my unfinished center caps and left. I would have asked for a refund but the receipt was not itemized to show the different prices for the work that was supposed to be done. Bottom line is unless you have a month to get a job done, do not use Rim Repair Houston. I paid for a incomplete job that was well over a week behind the the promised date of delivery. The kicker was that he said he'd paint the center caps and they'd be ready for the next day. My question is why wouldn't he paint the center caps when he painted the rest of the rim? Wooooooow.... best customer service ever... it was kind of scary I took my car in on Friday to have some work done, I was advised up front that it would take 12hrs for completion which was cool. I called 12hrs later to see if the car was ready and it was NOT and I had a graduation party to attend. Rim Repair powder coat & repair on my rims were done correctly & quality was nice. My issue is their customer service. First of all. I needed 4 rims repaired. I brought in 4 spare wheels so that I can drop off the rims to be repaired & keep my car. The spare wheels were brought in my back seat & had plastic bag wheel covers for each wheel so that It wouldn't damage or dirty my interior of my car. They ripped the wheel bags off my spare tires that I brought in without thinking about them not having wheel bags to replace them with when I returned to pick up my repaired rims. Then gave me attitude when I asked if they had the wheel bags that I brought in with my tires. I was fussed at & told they were thrown away. I was then demanded to leave the work area & go inside the waiting area. I still hadn't seen the finished product & was handed a bill to pay for my wheels. I told the cashier I wasn't pay for something I hadn't seen yet. When I did that the cashier & manager began to speak Spanish to each other while I was in the same room. What was said!? Idk I don't speak Spanish ! Finally my rims are put back on my car & one of my lug nuts is missing & cant be found anywhere.
