So sad we have had many car repairs completed here over the years but this was by far the worst. We will not return!!! They quoted us $3,000 for repairs. We paid the fees, got the truck home, and it still wasn't repaired. They tried to put in cheap parts in our brand new truck. Then they charged us another $1,100 for a tail light . They took advantage of us and should have done the quote right the first time. To top it all off the main service guy STOLE personal belongings from our vehicle. We found out because when we went back to his office OUR belongings were on his desk. Shame on him. The management here is awful and can't be trusted. Hargey the owner needs to get his team and company back in line to provide better customer service. read more

I needed my passenger mirror replaced ASAP and I had already bought the replacement mirror & every quote I was getting seemed to be suspiciously high (as I'm a young woman which can be suggestive) so I kept looking. I don't even think I called Galson before I showed up. I was there as soon as they opened, they took a look said they could get me in right then and there. Service was fast, and only $70! As I was waiting I saw a Bible and some other biblical based books, which was definitely a nice surprise - I love to support fellow believers. I had a engine temperature problem that persisted for about a week. Visited Galson's on a random Monday and to my surprise, I was met with a $1,200 quote (maybe). Upon further due diligence from the mechanic spurred by the coordination from the front desk guys, my final bill was only a little over $300. Awesome experience from the whole team! I am not sure about their mechanical work but I have taken my cars here for inspections for at least a decade and have always been 100% satisfied. This year they have given us hell about all of our cars inspections. For petty things like windshield wipers, and tint that is too dark even though this is a car with original tint that has been inspected several times before. And losing my insurance card. They have always been great and very friendly, so maybe they are under new management, but they are just a waste of my time now. My patience with them is expired. I will not be going back. read more

I have to start this review off with saying...I hate car problems. I hate going to an auto repair shop and most of all...I...hate...waiting. I am NOT going to say this place releaves you from that woe. I am NOT going to say this place can fix your car to such perfection that it will never break down again. What I will say is that since this spot was taken over by the new owner a few years ago and changed it to a full auto repair spot and not just an oil change center, it has been a go to place for car troubles. They give you a good fair price and will not nickel and dime you for that whole service engine soon light "panic" pay anything scam that many other auto repair places do. If they charge you for that test, they will credit it back to your repair. I've had great service here with very satisfying expectations. On my last visit here last week I just went for the yearly inspection sticker. It was almost 2 hours after their inspection closing but they did mine anyways. That's great customer service and they remembered me from over a year ago. I hope I never see them again for a car repair, but if I need it done..I will only go to them. I want to give a huge Thanks to Ravi of Galson Auto & Body for the custom paint work they did on my Audi S5. I posted a before and after picture to see the great work Galson Auto Body did. I'm very particular body shop choices when it comes to painting cars as many of they cut corners and use cheap paint. I first went o Caliber Collision and I explained what I wanted done and the reply back was it can't be done. I continued my searched and I run into Galson Auto Body and when I walked in the office I first notice all the before and after picture work they've done on Exotic cars. I figure if they can work on those type of cars then what I'm doing to my Audi is a walk in the park. I explained all the things I wanted done and Ravi made it all happen. The attention to detail is exceptional on the work they performed on the car. When I bought the car from the dealer they offered to Wrap the car but I'm not a fan of Wrap as sooner or later you'll have to replace that. Therefore I turned to the real thing which is paint the car and after that I had it Ceramic Coated for protection. I'm new to Houston and I'm glad I found my go to body shop. I did not approve the additional $150. I have no reason to go somewhere that overcharges and refuses to communicate It has been 1 year now. Took our GMC Terrain here to be diagnosed. The only reason we took it here was because it's the closest shop to us. The day before we took it we had replaced the camshaft and crankshaft sensors as well as the VVT solenoids. We told them we had done this. They told us if they didn't get to it today they would get to it the next day. We didn't hear from them for more than 3 days. When we finally got an estimate, they tried to tell us we needed to spend almost $1500 more than the car is worth in order to fix it. So I looked up parts (from the same website I know for a fact they use because I caught them using this site in the past and lying to me about where they get their parts so they could charge more) and they were trying to charge $2600 more for parts than the parts actually cost. They also tried to say we needed to pay them $133 per part to replace the VVT solenoids...which we had already done the day before we took it in. We decided to get a second opinion from a mechanic we actually know and trust. So, today (an entire week after we took it in for diagnosis) we called them at 9:30 to request that they put it back together and we would have it towed. They told us it would be an hour. So we called a tow truck to meet us there. We got there at 12:35, 3 hours after we called, and the car still wasn't put together. They said to give them another hour and they would call us. 2hr15min later and they still had not called. So we called them and left a message. They didn't call. I called back and they had the audacity to lie and say "I just called your husband more than half an hour ago and told him it would be out in a few minutes." He had 0 missed calls from them and had not talked to them at all. By this point, it's 3:20 and the place we needed to tow it to closes at 4. So we waisted our entire day off that we had planned to get this all done, plus $330 for them to "diagnose" the issues and lie about parts and pricing. Do not take your car here. They will charge you out the butt for parts you can buy yourself for 1/10 of the price. They once tried to charge me $600 to put in 2 spark plugs and 2 coil packs, cleaning the packs alone were $100 because "we don't buy cheap parts like from rockauto." Yet on their computer screen I saw that they were on rockauto "reading the part prices to me". They're crooked, incompetent and slow as heck. read more

These guys are great! My car wouldn't start after the "Houston freeze" last week and I called them around 4pm to see what I should do. They suggested I call someone I knew who had jumper cables to try and jump the car so that I could drive it up to the shop. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anyone I knew in close range that could come jump the car. I called back and they offered to come pick up the car with their tow truck for a small fee. I agreed to the tow and ended up riding with the tow truck guy to the shop, arriving at 5:20pm. They were able to not only change the battery (which turned out to be the only problem), but also do a well-overdue oil change for me in just enough time before the shop closed! I really appreciate how they were able to help me so last minute and so quickly. Will definitely be coming back for any other needs in the future! read more

I wrecked my work van, in my defense, (the tree hit me), I called a family member that works for Toyota, and he referred me to Ravi. He immediately got to work on letting me know how much I would possibly be out of pocket for the damage, and asked for pictures. Within a couple of days, my taillight was in and he had me bring the van in to have it replaced by one of the coolest workers they have there (Rocco/guy with all the tattoo). He popped it in, in no more than 3 minutes which was well appreciative. The following week, I dropped the van off for the rest of the work that took 4-5 days because of ordering a new bumper. The only thing I was disappointed about was the lack of communication, I received after dropping the van off, and I expected that the entire completion of the van would be resolved or that we would communicate is anything additional was needed or had changed, which did not happen, and resulted in me receiving the van with minor damage still present and was told that it wasn't fixed because it was not in the price that was quoted from the pictures. I expected that once in his possession, he would call and explain or maybe even inform me that it was not as expected, more damage was found and given me the opportunity to say yes go ahead and fix it completely or declined the service. Overall they did a wonderful job on the van, bumper and taillight, looks new and work was completed in a timely manner. Ravi is a cool dude, and did everything in his power to even stop a noise that was coming from the tail pipe. Very appreciative of their work, and I will take the blame for the miscommunication of the services needed! read more

Terrible place! They don't guarantee their work. My husband took his car in June 2021 for a subframe replacement, galsons replaced it which wasn't cheap. In December 2021 it breaks, because they didnt tighten the bolt correctly and the bolt just came out. John agreed as a courtesy to fix it. Didn't know it is called courtesy when the work is still under warranty. In May 2022 it breaks AGAIN and then they don't want to make it right!!! Don't recommend this place for a major work. I recently had a problem with my vehicle not starting. While I was waiting on the wrecker to pick up my car, the manager of the convenience store where I stopped, said my battery seemed fine and tried to jump start my car. When he did, nothing happened, not a sound. Then a couple of other guys were trying to be helpful and checked out my car, too. All were in agreement that the starter was the problem. So, I took my vehicle back to Galson, where the starter had been replaced 4 months ago. The technicians determined the pigtail connector clip from car to starter was broken. So, the connector was replaced and rewired. I have worked a couple of times with John, who I believe is the Service Manager. He is very knowledgeable, was good at keeping me informed of their progress, as well as keeping me updated as to what the charges would be for repairs, and an estimation as to when I would get my car back. I got my car back yesterday and am happy to report that everything seems to be running just fine. The car starts immediately now and I am extremely pleased! Be wary. I brought my car here after having several good experiences with some smaller stuff. My Nissan was making strange noises under power. The guy who drove my car couldn't even hear the noise that I was talking about...yet was certain it was the brakes. Quotes me $350 dollars for front brakes plus charged me for doing the inspection. Turns out it was my U-joints that need replaced. I had it looked at by another nearby mechanic who correctly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. I really want to like these people based off the good reviews. And they've always been friendly in person. But now they've lost my trust. Anyway, glad I saved a ton of money on an overpriced break pad replacement. read more

Galson Auto Repair did an awesome job on the repair on my Ford F150. Ravi, the person I worked with and I believe the owner, was exceptional to work with. I am very picky, and the repair was done correctly. I had my front and back bumpers painted (front bumper was deeply scratched and back bumper had been scuffed by someone in a parking lot). They explained how the repair would be done and the options (explaining both the best way to do the repair by removing the bumpers and painting off body and the lower cost way to do the repair). The final result had exceptional paint color match and quality. My goal was to not be able to tell that the damage had ever been done, and that is what I got. Ravi also knew I was very particular about my vehicle and went out of his way to ensure there was no possibility of dings or damage. My main concern was quality and not how quickly I got my vehicle back, but I got my vehicle back in just a few days (a day faster than I was originally told). Ravi even gave me a ride on the day I dropped off my vehicle to prevent me from having to walk back to work. Galson Auto Repair is a great place to take your vehicle for body and paint repair if you want it done right and you want to deal with professionals. I am completely happy with my experience.
