I had been a repeat customer of Discount Tire for years, which is why today's experience was so…read moredisappointing. I went in for a slow leak in one tire. Instead of inspecting it, the employee used a handheld tread gauge, showed me a red/yellow/green chart--clearly a marketing tool--and immediately tried to sell me a full set of tires for about $1,200. Notably, their own chart showed the tires were still in the "yellow," meaning they have usable life left. Despite that, they didn't even attempt to determine whether the leak could be patched. No one checked where the leak was or whether it was repairable. I understand the tires are nearing the end of their lifespan--that's not the issue. The issue is zero customer service and a completely scripted sales push. A basic inspection should come before a four-figure recommendation. I would have likely purchased my next set of tires here anyway.

I went to the Millbrook store for a front end alignment and a rotate and balance. There was no…read moreissues with my truck but I had just had new upper control arms installed and wanted the front end alignment checked. Once I got there Chuck tells me that they cannot balance my tires because they are aftermarket applications. I said okay then please check the alignment. After about 45 minutes they take the truck back and 30 minutes later come back and tell me that the alignment is going to cost 275 bucks because of additional labor. I said okay go ahead since I'm already there and have wasted nearly 2 hours. Thirty minutes later they come back and say that they can't align my truck because it needs additional parts and that they will cost another 200 bucks. So now I need a 475 dollar front end alignment. Of course I have questions and ask to see what part it is that I need and why do I need it. The tech says that the parts on my truck are not correct and shows me what I parts I need. When he show me them I ask him to show me where it says those parts will fit my truck. He fails to do so and he insists that they cannot align my truck with the parts that are on it. I show the tech the pictures of the parts that were previously purchased for my truck and that they were specifically for the year make and model of my truck and were for front end alignment. The tech said that the they would not be able to align my truck with those parts. I told them I would not be paying 475 bucks for a front end alignment to get my truck off the rack and I will go somewhere else. They bring my truck around and I have to pay 59 bucks for nothing. I leave there and go right down the street to Auto Zone and show the rep a picture of the parts that their tech said I needed. He pulled the parts up on his computer and said that these parts would not fit my truck. He then showed me the parts that would fit my truck and it was the exact parts that were already on my truck. Lets be clear my truck was previously aligned with the parts that were on it. So I left there and went back to Don Duncan and showed Mitch the Auto Zone parts description indicating that the parts they said I needed would not fit my truck. He offered me nothing but said he was sorry. I left there with my steering wheel off centered and my truck wandering on the road. So now I am sure my truck is out of alignment and it cost me 59 bucks to get it that way. Thank you Don Duncan Millbrook! What a great experience.

As a result, I tend to run over quite a lot of wood chips and scrap steel which puncture my tires. On average, I have to get about ten tires repaired or replaced every year. Fortunately, when I showed up at this particular Firestone bright and early, I only had a slow leak. The gentleman behind the counter got my information, saw that I had a company car and had my information in his computer and got me right in. They had the tire patched (not plugged) which is a major bonus as it's a more permanent fix and saves you money in the long run even though it takes more time because they have to take the tire off the rim. I was out of there in the hour and the bill was sent to my company. All done at a reasonable price. Thanks Firestone.

Once we picked up the vehicle, within 2 hours my son was driving down the interstate and the molding around the front passenger tire started coming off and flew around and hit the front of the vehicle causing damage to the hood, grill and lights. It also pulled the right panel when the molding came off. Montgomery Auto won't stand behind their work and take ownership for the damages claiming my son must have run over something. We have paid the deductible and my insurance company paid them. Now we have to take the vehicle to another body shop to fix the damage Montgomery Paint and Body caused with their botched work. That's another deductible and rental car fees to pay AGAIN!
